It's a brotherhood. That's the simple reason why Kenneth Barnes says he stood in the rain to salute a passing funeral procession for a fallen soldier.

Basically, that's what you're supposed to do. This photo, taken by a stranger from afar, shows Barnes paying his respects, and now he's receiving praise from strangers all over the country.

And I know how it is to go through a tough time like that, and I really just did it just to make someone's Wednesday. That was it.

In the nonstop rain, Barnes got out of his truck to salute a military veteran who had died. Five to fifteen seconds later, the rain went from pouring to like a slow drizzle, and as if Mother Nature was commending Barnes for his action.

And as soon as I got back in the truck, it poured again, which is really cool. He didn't know the popular photo had been snapped until later.

My phone was like going crazy, all because this soldier did what he said was normal, proving not all good deeds go unnoticed.
