It's time for the orientation and mindset setting. I'm really glad to meet all of you. I sincerely appreciate you joining me for this challenge. Let me explain why we are doing a 7-day challenge. The reason we have this challenge is that, while some of you may be able to do it alone, I have noticed, when looking at your portfolios, that many of you are going in circles. Unfortunately, some portfolios are not suitable for selection, and I have witnessed you wasting a lot of time over the years. The designs are almost all similar, lacking creativity. Although there may be a lot of work, it lacks psychological and emotional depth, as well as originality. If there is one person who embodies this, it would be...

I didn't plan this challenge, but it turns out that most people are really like that. If you can't set a standard, and if I only go in one direction, if that direction is the path to success, then I can exponentially reduce the time. However, if I go in the wrong direction, no matter how much time and effort I put in, I will ultimately fail because of the structure. We actually have a lot of templates available, so it might seem good to design various templates. Therefore, for those of you using Canva, it doesn't clearly tell you that this or that would be advantageous for you; it's just your choice. But if you think you can freely create this and that, it will inevitably become chaotic. Will diverse and original designs emerge from that?

It is completely impossible to come out of this situation. Moreover, with the chaotic heating system, the chances of passing are getting further away. So, I really thought about this. There are many paths to creating a portfolio. In fact, there could be hundreds or thousands of them. But I have narrowed it down to just one path. If there is one path I can choose to present, and if I suggest this one path among ten options, how about that? Your chances of passing could increase exponentially. This could really save you time and effort in the short term. Additionally, once you understand this process, you will be able to create a successful portfolio on your own. Because now you know the direction, you just need to focus on one thing. You don’t need to be distracted by various other options.

During the time you learn from me, just keep practicing with this one process. And don't be too impatient; you need to create a completed portfolio. Because, you see, the process of learning this takes seven days, and just because you've learned it in seven days doesn't mean your design skills will suddenly improve. Of course, your skills will gradually improve. I've been keeping a journal, and I can say that my skills have really increased exponentially. However, I didn't exaggerate about it on my blog because I thought it might come off as too boastful. But honestly, I was really surprised when I compared my previous portfolio with the first design work. It was truly impressive, and I couldn't help but admire the skills I had developed. You all will definitely see a significant improvement in your skills.

You can think of it this way: after this challenge is over, you will feel very proud of yourselves, and you will have an amazing portfolio. However, we are currently in a situation where even beginner designers, as well as those with a lot of experience, are still facing difficulties. I've heard many rumors and stories about this. In fact, after I passed, about 30 more people joined, and they said it was almost full. So, you can see that this is almost the last chance. Therefore, designers are working really hard right now, and even those who are not designers are putting in a lot of effort. As a result, the competition has indeed become much tougher. Now, they will really only select a few people.

Of course, it was the same in the past, and I even went through an interview and got selected. The reason this opportunity is so good is that it can become a lifelong pension. It’s automatic income. Once you create a design, it just keeps generating income automatically for life. So, when we reach 70 or 80 years old, we won’t be able to work, right? But there’s now a possibility that automatic income of 1 million, 2 million, or 3 million won could come in. How great would that be? The designs we create in our spare time could later turn into a system that brings in automatic income. That’s what we want, right? Also, it’s really nice that we can design in a fun way, and it’s an amazing system that doesn’t restrict us by time or place. This platform called Canva is truly remarkable.

If you pass, you will truly be able to enjoy all of this, so how great is that? You can think of it as your last chance. For a month, you really need to immerse yourself in this. It's not just about completing it in seven days; we have a seven-day challenge, but you should keep the process going until it's truly finished. You need to keep turning the process wheel that I taught you. You should at least keep it going for a minimum of two weeks. This will change your sense of design and lead to the creation of another portfolio. These portfolios need to accumulate little by little. What I recommend is that originally, a month is good, but since we are approaching the end of December, it’s not necessarily the last chance. There is still a bit more that can be extracted from this.

However, in December, you can still see the last train. I think until January, or at least until February, they will likely select a few more people. So, everyone, please don't rush into it thinking, I'll just work on it for a week and submit it right away. Instead, focus on creating something with a high level of completeness. Take at least two weeks to finalize your portfolio, check it thoroughly, and if you feel that the quantity and quality are sufficient, then submit it. 

What you need is to successfully complete the 7-day challenge, but this challenge involves an overwhelming amount of work. I have really planned this challenge to help you all work hard. And I realized that we can't keep doing this challenge continuously. It might be a bit burdensome for you to participate once and then keep applying again and again.

Since there is a possibility, I plan to change the direction a bit in the third phase. Even if it means raising the price slightly, I will manage and provide feedback until you pass. Until now, in the second phase, I couldn't think of this because it was my initial stage, and I couldn't implement it. However, starting from the third phase, I intend to receive only a portion of the fee and focus more on providing management support. I believe this will be more beneficial for you all because just doing it once is not enough; continuous feedback and management are necessary. As I prepare for these lectures, I have been inspired to think about this. Although you cannot participate in this phase, I hope you can adopt this mindset.

You need to think about this. Even if I can't manage myself continuously, I will create a system that allows you all to manage yourselves. I've also planned in more detail to help you with that. So, I hope you will refer to all of this and create a successful portfolio by December. I have established a systematic curriculum. First, I will analyze my successful portfolio. I believe analyzing my successful portfolio is very important. By looking at the portfolio that was successful, I can gain inspiration. So, I analyzed my successful portfolio, and I found that...

Oh, it was truly a portfolio that was bound to succeed. To be honest, I hadn't analyzed it before. I mean, the systematic curriculum I created was based on a method I had previously used; it wasn't that I systematically thought, If I do this, I will succeed from the beginning. I didn't create that portfolio myself. However, I have analyzed what I did. Now, looking back, I analyzed why it succeeded, and it turns out that it was bound to succeed. That's the system that emerged. So, I used that system to introduce it to you and create the curriculum. Later, I will analyze my successful portfolio for you, and since one example might not be enough, my case might be unique. Therefore, I will also provide good references.

I will analyze this for you. If you do this, I will set clear criteria for you. So, when you create your portfolio in the future, if you establish clear criteria and proceed, it will save you an enormous amount of time. This is something that no one has really emphasized to you or taught you. This is the core; it is truly essential. This accounts for almost 70% of your success. If you don't know this, no matter how high the quality of your design is, it will all fall apart. Therefore, establishing clear criteria is crucial. I believe that just knowing this one thing is worth the cost of your tuition. Most people who fail do so because they are unaware of this. Designers often create great designs, but why do they fail? You might be able to stand up here, so I think it would be good to have hope. The assignment I’m giving you is quite significant. Although it’s just seven days, since it’s your first time, you will need to spend a lot of time on the design. However, if you follow the assignment well, you will have a portfolio that is 70% complete. I assure you that if you follow the assignment properly, you can achieve a portfolio that is 70% complete. But, since you are beginners and we haven’t gained much experience yet, it can be very challenging to incorporate your originality here. Originality is not just about being flashy or putting in a lot of elements. It should be simple yet organized, showcasing your unique style. You need to express your own originality.

So, doing something weird in design that no one else does is not originality. First of all, everything needs to be harmonious, and harmony is really important. As you practice, you will gradually get a sense of it, and there will come a point where your own originality will emerge. Until then, it's good to keep repeating this curriculum for two or three weeks to gradually complete it. If you add about 30% of your own originality, you will have a successful portfolio. Now, let me share my success story. In the beginning, I saw the job posting for the successful creator position, and I honestly thought it would be very difficult. I thought I wouldn't make it. So, I decided to prepare slowly and submit my application. However, I heard that someone else got accepted.

So, after hearing that, I thought, If I submit it late, I might fail. That thought really hit me, and I immediately got started. What I did at that moment was, I had a portfolio that I had created a few years ago, maybe two years or one year ago. I used that portfolio to quickly create a mock-up in just one day. I submitted it in one day, and surprisingly, I got accepted. I can say I was really lucky. Let me tell you how I managed to get accepted in just one day. The way I created that portfolio was during a time when selling Canva templates was trending. So, I decided to try selling Canva templates.

I missed it, so I looked at the Canva templates and references at that time, and I applied them to create my own. I think I made about three or four Canva templates. It seems like many others created a lot more, but at that time, I only made three. However, the ones I created sold really well at a high price, which surprised me. I thought no one would buy them because there were so many creators at that time, and it seemed like a structure where no one was buying. But then, one of my templates sold and entered the bestseller category. I was selling them on the Minad Mond website back then, and that website existed, so I sold the Canva templates there.

On the website, it was mentioned that since the product wasn't selling well, even if just one item sold, it would be considered a best-seller. That's how I got exposure for my first product, the best-seller. After that, it continued to sell for me. However, only one of the three products I released kept selling. I thought I had just created it casually, but now that I analyze it, I realize that I actually followed all the rules for a successful portfolio to teach you. Therefore, I had no choice but to create a selling template, which ultimately means that my skills were recognized. I believe that’s why the Canva judges felt a desire to purchase it.

I think I have passed again. In a way, this passing is not just about showcasing your brand or your work; it's about showing my product and selling my product. I believe that I need to make people truly love my product. So, it's not just about having the mindset of, I need to pass with my portfolio. Instead, it's about making them feel that my product is so good that they can't help but buy it. If you think from this brand perspective when setting your standards, I believe that you will bring out more of your design sensibility. I will also inform you about these rules later. And everyone, when I created the template back then, I really thought it wouldn't sell.

I thought I would try selling it just for the experience, as I believed it could be a good opportunity. However, I never really thought it would make money. The Mina Mond website was not functioning well, and since I joined a bit late, I didn't have much experience selling before it started selling quickly. I was continuously exposed as a bestseller because it was selling well, but suddenly that stopped. The Mina Mond website became unavailable, and I found myself in a situation where I couldn't sell anymore. As time passed, I had nothing to do. Then, suddenly, a few years later, they started recruiting Canva creators, and I was able to use the portfolio I had created. How about that? It seemed like all these unrelated events suddenly came together.

You see, everything connects, right? So, when you look closely, there are no experiences that are truly unnecessary. Since there are no unnecessary experiences, cherish each moment and each hour. If you enjoy it like a game and put in the effort, it can become a valuable experience for you. Now, let's talk about mindset one last time. This mindset setting is very important. Instead of just thinking, I will pass, truly feel in your heart that you love this design. I want to become a Canva creator and show my designs to many people, providing them with useful and helpful value. After setting your mindset with this intention, it would be good to establish your ultimate goal of passing as a Canva creator. And you all have until the 7th.

Now, I will give you a planner for the mission. You will write down the missions from the 1st to the 7th. Then, set your goals for the email. Each of you has your own goals, right? You can write something like, Today, I will complete this mission, or I will create a few templates today, or I will write a few key phrases today. You can list the tasks I give you, and you can add more if you like. 

Next, record the execution of the email. You should check off what you have accomplished today. Then, review and reflect on today's performance. Consider what went well, what was lacking, and areas for improvement. This will allow you to give yourself feedback, which is a form of self-training. So, please continue this mindset setting for the next seven days, using the planner until you pass.

Alright, so I created a planner. My goal is to get accepted as a Canva creator. It would be great if you could write down why you want to be accepted as a Canva creator and what benefits you think you would gain from being accepted. After that, you will create your brand name, and it would be good to write it next to that. As for the design direction, you can write down the design style you are pursuing. In my case, I prefer minimalism and simplicity, and I also like a bit of luxury. I tend to favor simple, straightforward, and modern designs, so I'm focusing on that direction. It would be good for you to write down similar preferences. For example, you could mention color schemes like beige, white, or light tones.

It would be good if you could write it in a pink, run-style format. As for the final design quality, you can write it as you think. For example, you could say that you create a design quality that is worthy of passing, or something like that. Alternatively, you could describe it as a beloved, valuable design quality, or one that impresses the judges. You could also say that you create an original, emotional design quality. The idea is to encourage you to think creatively and take this opportunity to reflect. There is no right answer; I provided this to help you set your mindset.

Next, there are dates listed: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and so on, up to Day 7. So, according to this mission, I have written down the tasks for each of the seven days. Please write the mission on the corresponding page for this mission, and first, write down your goals.

And for the mission check, please assess how much you have achieved your goals in your own way, and provide feedback in your own way every day. Please submit these to me. By submitting them, it gives a sense of completion, right? Showing it to someone else makes it feel more real. While I can't offer you a reward for this, it will help you reflect on whether you have completed the tasks or not, and it can motivate you to continue. I hope you can do that.
