In this part, what I especially struggled with in supervising the Mishima Dojo stage was the wall destruction stage. I remember Great Fox and this wall destruction in particular. Great Fox is large in scale, but this one is small in scale and didn't turn out quite well. Various drawings from the supervision are still around, so let's take a look at them. First, the image that came up from the stage team was this. They wanted me to create an image like this, so I made a retouched image. I think the impression of the board being destroyed comes across. The cross-section of the board looked like it was cut like threads. I specified that the boards in the foreground and background should be jagged, not perpendicular to the board. The surface of the board was bent towards the front, so I requested to keep the X-coordinate of the board's surface the same and add jagged edges in the Y and Z directions. Since the jagged edges were too regular, I asked for them to be irregular. Even from a distance, you can see three pillars remaining.

I'm talking about wanting it to be broken up because it was regularly left. Even after adjusting, there were various issues. The edges were round like the edge of a seat or the edges were regular, giving the impression that the board was too split. Also, from a distance, the image seemed to be missing the square cutouts. The unseen back side had a better atmosphere. Even after adjusting, there are still flat areas and overly sweet areas remaining. I requested to break it down because the columns were straight and sharp like the edge of a seat, and it seemed like they were copied in the same shape. This looks regular when viewed from the front. The fragments were hanging significantly lower compared to the fighter passing line, so I instructed to lift them up. And the completed version of the wall destruction looks like this, which feels good and well expressed. In simple terms, if the destruction of the wooden boards is done properly, it would have been better. Even if it deviates from the image I describe, as long as the quality is maintained, it's okay. However, the sword of that wall destruction.

It didn't go very well, but the fact that it was able to come together might still be on the positive side. Despite numerous supervisions, there are times when differences in image or quality assurance are not met. In those times, the only choice is to cut your losses. In other words, you have no choice but to commercialize it as it is. My goal is not to make everything ideal, so I surprisingly compromise. However, I still end up regretting it. Ideally, I want to finish cleanly. In supervision, if you expect to take one step forward, you often find yourself moving only half a step or even less. It's quite common. It's easier to bring things together by aiming a bit high and then readjusting during supervision. However, it feels like the direction is always off, making it quite challenging. Of course, I believe this is the responsibility of both the director and the artist. A team is meant to create things of sufficient quality together, so we must strive where we can.
