[Music] Many people have found that animals respond to their thoughts. Dogs do this, cats, parrots, horses, uh, in fact, a wide variety of animals that people keep, um, as pets or as working animals, like working dogs and horses. I've done surveys in Britain and

the United States of people who keep animals, and I found that about 60% of people who keep dogs and cats feel that their animal can respond to their thoughts. Sometimes they respond to their emotions, um, cats and dogs often know when their owners are unhappy or in

distress or in pain, and they comfort them. We used to have a cat here that belonged to my wife called Remedy, um, and she called the cat Remedy because it was a remedy. The cat seemed to know when she was sad or in pain and came and sat on

her and purred and made her feel better. Animals also pick up people's intentions. They often know when people are planning to go away, uh, they seem to get, um, distressed even before people have started packing their suitcases or given any obvious sign. A lot of people

find that their cat can pick up when they're intending to take it to the vet. Cats don't like going to the vet, and they often hide when their owner has the intention to take it to the vet. This is very annoying for a lot of people because the

cat disappears just when they need it, um, and veterinary clinics in London in a survey we carried out, uh, often find people canceling appointments with their cats because they simply can't find the animal because they pick up their intentions. Animals can also pick up their owner's intentions from a distance.

It's not just a matter of body language or subtle cues, um, that's why a lot of animals know when their owners are going to come home, even from many miles away. Uh, they seem to pick up the owner's intentions to come home. They're

picking up their thoughts, their intentions, uh, over a long distance. They can also pick up thoughts or intentions about other things that concern them. For example, when someone's planning to give them a special treat of food, or some dogs know when their owner is

planning to take them for a walk, even if it's not at a routine time and before the person's got up and started putting on their clothes or getting out the dog lead. So, there are many ways in which people find that animals can pick up

their thoughts or intentions. Sometimes it's a matter of subtle cues and the animal being responsive to body language, but often it's more than that. It happens even when they, the animal can't see the person, and in those cases it seems to be telepathic.
