Personal Touch without further ado, let's get straight into it. The first step in developing a great memory is to believe that you can do it and you actually want to do it. Drop your excuses and stop blaming others or your own circumstances. Stop saying things like, everyone tells me that I'm stupid or having excuses like, I'm just too busy. You should believe that you have unlimited memory. Consider how much you already store in your brain - the people, the places, events, experiences, stories, skills, languages - 'cause that's a lot of information you have stored in your brain. And you should realize that you can store much, much more. To unlock the unlimited memory, there is actually a method that he calls the four C's. The first C is concentration. So, in order to have outstanding results, you need a period of deep, deep concentration, just like how you build muscles in the gym. You can build your concentration muscles in your head. And the key to concentration is to be fully present in a calm, peaceful state of mind. You will learn

and retain information better when you're clear on three things. The first thing is purpose. You should remember why you're learning something so you will feel more engaged with the information. What's your purpose here? Why you're trying to memorize this? The second one is interesting. People will naturally pay more attention to what's interesting, so make whatever you're trying to memorize, either it's like super boring data or dry data, you can make them interesting by linking it with something that you're interested in. For example, like a problem you wish to solve or a skill you want to acquire. And the third one is curiosity. Always, always ask questions to trigger your curiosity. The second C is create imagery. It's a myth that photographic memory is an imor ability that allows you to capture and store mental pictures in perfect details. Photographic memory is actually developed by training your mind to bring information to life using imagination and visualization. And actually, all humans can transform information into mental images or movies. In fact, actually, your brain naturally syncs by producing data into an internal movie screen. For example, whenever I read a book or a novel, I imagine the characters acting out the scenes in my head. And those images are more memorable than the actual details written in the book. Words and sounds are actually less sticky because they are only partial representations of those 3D images. According to neuroscientist Dr. Medina, you only recall 10% of something you heard 3 days later, but you will remember 65% of the picture you see. Sounds aren't

as effective as pictures. Because first, they don't connect as well as other memories in your head. And second, they are sequential, unlike pictures which can be linked in any direction. Use the C principle to make your mental pictures and videos more sticky and memorable. The first S is sensus. Your brain naturally uses multi-sensory experiences to engage with the world around you. So when you think of pizza, you won't just think about what it looks like, but also how it smells and how it tastes. Actually, I'm talking about this, I'm really craving for a pepperoni pizza because it sounds tasty. So when you use all five senses like sound, smell, touch, and taste, you can experience and remember something more vividly. The second one is exaggeration. Things that stand out are more memorable. For example, you'll remember a football-sized orange better than just like a regular orange. The third one is energized. Inject humor, color, and action to make the content more vivid and fun. You can also make them behave in unusual ways, like a neon pink horse.

that's stand-in and singing is definitely more memorable just than the normal Brown CH. That's standing still. The third C is connect Concepts so new data is stored as short-term memory in our brain. To remember them, you actually must transfer them to your long-term memory in your brain. As a shortcut, you actually can pack new information to your long-term memory using an existing list that you're already familiar with. For example, the car method. So let's try this exercise together. Let's say we need to remember 10 super foods. And let's see a car in Vivid detail. Starting from the front of the car, imagine yourself taking a huge carrot and stabbing it into the Bonet. You found your windscreen made a granny bread and think how it's going to spoil your wipers. Inside the car, you're in the driver's seat sitting on squashed blueberries and strawberries just to feel how gross that is. And you throw eggs at the person in the passenger seat. That person right now for me is my

boyfriend, before you pour nuts and seeds onto your back seat, step out of the car to see oranges smeared all over your back windows. Open the boot and see and smell the packet of a stinky fish. You look down to find the back wheels made of three potatoes, actually. So now replay this thing a few times and you will find it easy to recall all the 10 superfoods in any sequences, and not just the car method. You can use different methods like use the body or location as a storage compartment for different lists. Okay, the last C is continuous use, enhancing your memory. Like any other skill, it requires consistent effort. The average person forgets 82% of what he learned after 28 days, so do regular reviews to refresh your memory and deepen your understanding and create long-term memories. The first 72 hours are the most crucial for memorizing everything. So I feel like my struggles are mostly due to the number of things I need to memorize and the time that I have. It's not a problem if I need to

memorize five words in one day. The problem is when I have to memorize 100 words in 3 days, and I feel like my brain cells are just not enough for that. So what I want is actually to memorize the information as quickly as possible and not forget it for a long period of time. So for the first part, how can we memorize it faster? So ever since I was a kid, I found that when I asked my mom to quiz me about history fact, it was surprisingly effective for me to memorize them. Even though sometimes I don't remember everything, I would try to come up with something, and then my mom would tell me the correct answer. And after one round of quizzing, I would magically remember five pages of History stuff. My mom would usually get very annoyed when I couldn't answer 80% of the question, but I realized that the process of her quizzing me, me trying to think of answers on my own, and telling her the answers was a really effective

way of memorizing. Later in college, I realized that what I've been doing with my mom is actually a study method called active recall, which psychologists have proven to be one of the most efficient ways of memorizing information. So basically, it means instead of passively reading, you answer questions on your own and actively recall and retrieve information from your brain. After I went to college, I no longer had my mother to help me quiz myself, but I still do this quiz myself thing. And here's a couple ways that you can do active recall as well: you can simply just cover the answer with a ruler, answer the question yourself, and then check the answers. Or you can write your own question sheets. There are also lots of flashcard apps that allow you to make your own flashcards like Anki and Quizlet. So I memorized everything the night before my exam and used these quizzing techniques up until my senior year of high school because the content I needed to memorize ranged from five pages to 20 pages to a

whole book. The problem became how to memorize all these and how to distribute my time. The answer for that is space repetition. So, this is the curve of forgetting, which means that if we learn something and don't review it, we will eventually forget it over time. For example, if you just learned something new, by the end of the day, you will only remember 60% of that information. By the end of the third day, you will forget almost everything. But if you review it on day one, not only your memory will be refreshed, but your forgetting curve will become less steep, meaning the speed of forgetting things is slower. Now, you will need 7 days to forget almost everything. If you spend more time reviewing it, the speed of forgetting will be slower and slower. Eventually, you won't ever forget this information. This forgetting curve is actually different for everyone, and it's even different for different subjects for the same person. Space repetition is a method of reviewing materials based on this forgetting learning curve, and it's usually

performed with flashcards. As we mentioned earlier, active recall is one of the fastest ways to memorize something newly introduced and more difficult. Flashcards are shown more frequently, while older and less difficult flashcards are shown less frequently in order to exploit the psychological spacing effect.
