Ghost of Tabor is VR's only Survival PVP and PVE extraction shooter, similar to Escape from Tarkov. The game is currently available on PC for Steam and Oculus and is launching on The Meta Quest store on February 8th. It's currently up for pre-order with a discount, so make sure to check it out in the description below because you do not want to miss out. So, when you first hop into Tabor, you'll create your character, choose a faction, and you'll choose your name. None of this actually matters at the moment besides you creating your character based on how you want them to look. The factions currently serve no purpose other than different colored uniforms. Now, once you hop into your bunker, there's a few settings you should probably check out before hopping in-game. First of all, open up the settings menu by holding in the right thumb stick or clicking the left menu button on the Quest, and if you're on the Index, just click in the thumbpad. The first setting is the compass. I like to have this off for recording purposes.

but of course, you can leave this on if you want to. It just takes up a little bit of the screen, and it can always be accessed from the watch. Anyways, next up, the virtual gun stock is a great setting that simulates an actual gun stock and helps stabilize your weapon. A lot of people don't like this option, but just know it's there if you ever want to try it out. Another setting is the head-based movement. Some people don't even know that you can actually change your Lo of motion to your head instead of your controller. Again, personal preference, but head-controlled movement is much better for a lot of people, myself included. So, make sure to try that out instead of the default setting. Show grip and Trigger icons is a setting that can also sometimes visually get in the way of the gameplay, but if you're a new player and you want to know where you need to grab certain things, then these indicators will show you. I just think they're kind of annoying. And finally, the hand pitch rotation offset will change the pitch of

your hand when aiming down sights. Grab a pistol, mess with the offset until you can raise your gun from low ready to your sights perfectly. Just make sure the iron sights line up where you think they should. Mine is set to around 7, but it's completely up to you. The final setting is to mute your microphone. This doesn't turn off your mic in-game; it just mutes it by default every time you join a raid. And to unmute, simply raise your hand to your mouth and click the A button until the green light on your watch lights up. All right, and with settings out of the way, let's go ahead and get started into four. So, if you look around your bunker, there are several rooms, all with their own unique purposes. You start with Armory level one, Storage level one, the trade room, and the Vault, unless you own a two-bore DLC, which can be purchased on The Meta store as well as Steam. Then you can gain access to level two rooms at the beginning of Wi. But to start, head upstairs to the generator room and take

off the lids of the generator and the gas can. Pour the gas into the generator and then click the button to start it up. This will run while the game is offline, so make sure to turn it off before logging off. The first room is the trade room. This is where you will sell items, receive items from the market, and store your hard-earned valuables or whatever you want to put on the shelves. It's completely up to you. The Armory rooms are where you'll store weapons and armor, and also where you can craft ammunition. However, until you reach player level 5, you won't be able to access the ammo crafting room. You will first need to reach the level requirement and then purchase the upgrade from the market. To head to the market, open your menu and click the tab for market. Once you're here, there's several traders to explore. I recommend checking all of them out, just get familiar with them. Each trader sells different items, although only some of them are actually worth leveling up in my opinion. Had a spectre for guns.

magazines and attachments, minty for armor, backpacks, night vision, and armor pouches, ji for ammo crafting and bunker resources, the hospital for medical supplies and food and water, and The Merchant of death sells any DLC weapons that you may have purchased. And a side note for anyone with DLC: you will need to level up Spectre to the proper level in order to unlock any skins you have purchased. As of now, Shiro is not even worth leveling up because you can purchase all of Shiro's items from Jiri, so I highly recommend going for Jeri instead of Shirou because Jeri just offers a lot more items. Merck is where you'll purchase any bunker upgrades, including additional rooms or upgraded rooms. Some rooms can be upgraded, like the crypto mining room, to gain access to additional GPU slots, or for example, in the weed farm, you can gain access to more planters. You can also favorite items in the purchase screen so you can quick buy them from the trade room kiosk. You can also ensure items for an

additional cost, but you will get them back in your trade room after 24 hours, as long as no one takes them out of raid. This is a super underrated feature. It's a minimal extra cost, so if you're ever buying something from the market, throw some insurance on it. There's a good chance you'll get it back. But heading back to the bunker, there's a few more rooms to explore. The storage room is where you can store whatever items you want and however you want. Again, you can purchase the additional storage rooms from Merck at the market once you hit the proper level requirement. The kitchen's where you store food, drinks, and whatever else you want. The maintenance room is a late-game room that currently only offers additional storage tables and shelves, but in the future, this will probably be used for weapon crafting. Heading upstairs, we have the nursery room, which unlocks at level 10. This is where you can plant Takistan sun seeds that you can purchase from Jeri at the market. You can place them into the planter, and as long as there's

water and power in your bunker. The plants will grow with time. It takes about 72 hours for the full plants to grow, but just make sure you have enough water filled up and gas in your generator, or the plants will completely die. You can find more information on growing plants on the Tabor Wiki linked in the description below. The next room is the Intel room, which unlocks around level 10 or 12. This is where you can slot your graphics cards that you find in raid in order to make completely passive money. The wiki also has more detailed information on crypto mining if you're interested in the specifics, but basically, the more GPUs you have, the more money you make, and the generator has to be on for this to be running, so make sure you have enough gas. Finally, the vault is where you can see all of your glorious cash stockpiled up right in front of you. The more money you get, the more this will fill up, so it's a really cool feature in the game, and the Never wipe room is currently not

implemented into the game, but this will be a room where you can store certain items that will never be deleted with the game wipes. If you don't know what a wipe is, we'll talk about that later. But lastly, the Barrack room offers a couple more storage spots for backpacks and armor, nothing crazy. So next up, we have the missions in the game. There are tons of quests you can accept from the main kiosk in the bunker for each Trader, each giving a different amount of karunas and XP. I made a Trader guide a while back that still holds up pretty well. You can watch that with the link down below, but to sum it up, Spectre, Minty, and Jeri are the main Traders you want to focus on leveling up in the beginning. Player kills always offer the most rewards, such as killing five players in three lives or killing ten players in seven lives. Combo some of these high-reward tasks to level up quickly or pick some of the easier ones if you need. There's also a karuna requirement in order to reach the

next level for each Trader and by selling and purchasing items from a specific vendor. This threshold will increase, and once you hit both the XP and Kuda requirement, that Trader will level up. So before hopping into a raid, grab some gear or don't if you want to go in naked. It's always an option, but it will be a lot more difficult, so I highly recommend at least bringing a backpack and a firearm so you can loot items in a raid, and you'll at least have something to defend yourself. Make sure you're stocked up on water and food before heading into a raid, and bring a bandage and Med shots if possible. Hunger and thirst can be deadly if you don't check it before entering a raid. And just a side note, most food other than fruit will drain your thirst, so be careful when eating in raid because you will be dehydrated afterwards. Also, Ghost of the Boore can be played with up to two other friends, so grab some buddies if you don't want to go in alone. Playing in squads will always highly reduce the

chance of death. So, let's talk about the maps currently in Tabor. We've got the island of Tabor, Miss Silo, and Mest. There's also a night version of The Island map. It's a lot more difficult, but it is an option. The island is a large 12-player map with several points of interest, the main ones being the research labs, prison camp, radio tower, and a few others. With looting across the island, you can find different types of loot depending on the box type. Long green boxes can spawn helmets, night vision, or armor pouches, while the smaller wooden crates can spawn valuables, grenades, food, water, or any other small items. The longer wooden or plastic boxes can spawn guns, attachments, food, or other loose loot, and the big green boxes can spawn armor rigs, while the large wooden crates have a chance to spawn backpacks or also sometimes some armor. Med crates can be found around each map in set locations, and these will usually spawn with a bandage, nothing, or if you're lucky, a

health shot. There's also lootable lockers that can spawn weapons, attachments, anything like that. Violing cabinets that usually spawn valuables, attachments, or food and ammo cases that can spawn any kind of ammo, armor-piercing, FMJ, Tracer for any caliber. So, these are definitely worth checking. Now, be careful when Shing around the island. There are minefields that are very clearly noted, so look out for these signs. It's mainly at the edge of the map, but there are a couple sprinkled into the middle. Make sure you go around the signs so you don't get absolutely obliterated. So, there's also a few static spawns for extremely high-tier loot, such as key cards, graphics cards, high-tier valuables, and streamer items. These are all worth a pretty penny, and you can find plenty of in-depth guides showing you all the spawn points for these items. Two Cryptic and Dino VR have some great quick guides available for these item spawns. Now, when you're looting, there's a lot of items that are very invaluable, but just

use your best judgment, and you can probably determine if an item is worth taking. For example, SSDs, camera lenses, USB drives, and electronic wallets are all worth taking, while other items like USB chargers, spark plugs, and random junk are not really worth taking. Now, if you by chance stumble upon a purple key card, this can be used to open the vault on any map. There are also set spawns for key cards. You can also find them in boxes if you're lucky. So, if you want to learn all the key card spawn locations, there's plenty of videos out there as well. I made one a while back, Cryptic has one, a few other people have one, so go check those out. But the island vault is located inside the main building of the prison camp, and in this vault spawns high-tier loot, so make sure you bring a big backpack. Also, there are orange key cards in the game, which can be used to open the island key card extract, which happens to also have a very high-tier loot box inside. This extract is located

in the lab's parking garage at the very end of the lot, and key cards are a one-use-only. Air drops also have a small chance of spawning with extremely high-tier loot. Now, this event is random and has a small chance to occur if there are enough players in raid, but some general tips for toore are to be mindful of other player spawns. Also, look out for the AI Phoenix, who will shoot all players on sight if you get too close to them. The AI isn't very good in this game currently, and you can snap their neck by simply grabbing their head with both of your hands and doing a little twist. Phoenix will always drop a weapon of some kind, but it depends on how lucky you are if you want to stumble upon a higher-tier gun. Now, when looting a weapon into boore, if you find one in a crate, always chamber the gun. They do not come pre-chambered. The magazine will always be full, but the chamber will always be empty. And if you grab a gun off of a

phoenix, check the mag. It might be empty. If it is, they always drop three additional mags upon death. And to check the ammo that's left in a MAG, simply give it a flick or a shake, and you'll feel one to three vibrations depending on how many rounds are left. Three vibrations indicate the mag is nearly full, two indicates around half capacity, and one is close to empty. Of course, always be on the lookout for other players. They are the main threat in the war. I'll give some more PVP tips towards the end of this video, but just be mindful that you will run into other players, so make sure you're always ready for that. Also, keep an eye on the raid timer because if you don't manage to extract within the time limit, you're dead. Once you finish looting and surviving, Ding, and you think it's time to finally go ahead and exit the raid, there are several extraction points located around the island of Tor. Use your compass on your wrist or on the top of your screen if you have that turned

on and find the nearest extraction point depending on where you spawn. Some extractions may be unavailable, but once you've extracted, it's important to store your gear in the appropriate areas if you want to be organized, that is. You can also just dump your [ __ ] wherever you want. I'm not going to judge, but just know your sanity is on the line, and cleaning your bunker out daily is a pretty good idea. Now, moving on to missile silo, it's a much darker and closer quarters map with lower-tier loot and six players in total. There's also a chance for the boss Ktek to spawn with his two to three goons. The boss is highly kitted and will drop a golden full-auto SKS and a Mickey mask upon death, and his guards will also drop very high-tier armor as well as some pretty solid guns. Now, taking him out is not exactly an easy task, so make sure you have meds and enough ammo before trying to take him on. Missile silo also has a vault near the office room that

can be accessed with a purple key card. Although the loot seems to be much lower tier than other vaults, it's still pretty good. Silo is a super easy map to learn and often recommended for beginners, but just remember the loot is more scarce and it is easier to die since the map is much smaller and there's less space to run around. The final map is Makest, a nighttime city with nine players in total. The loot on Makest is fairly high tier, and the city has two vaults that can be opened with a purple key card. The first vault requires access to the House of Scott, which is an underground area that requires a bullet to shoot the lock and York skull, which can be found on Missile Silo in this back room. Once you enter the House of Scott, there are several loot spawns as well as a purple key card vault in the back hallway. There's another vault located across the map at the large Bridge Tower, which also has high tier loot. Now with the next upcoming update, we will see an

underground system introduced into makest, and possibly a lot more. So, this map is still in development, and there's not a huge reason to jump on this map just yet unless you have the gear to take on the house of Scott. Now, Aore offers a lot of weapons to choose from, so getting familiar with these guns early on is key to survival for certain situations. Visit the market, mess around with some of the guns, or grab some gear and hop into a training raid. Training raids are great ways to learn maps, loot spawns, guns, practice your aim, etc., so I highly recommend using the training raids for good to gain knowledge on the maps because ultimately, that's what it comes down to. You just got to learn a lot of things on your own. Also, the tutorial level is a great way to learn the basics of the game, and it's also a great shooting range to practice on these targets. Now, moving on to armor, there's several different types of armor in Ghost of Tabor, ranging from no armor protection to level six armor protection.

Here is each level of armor taken from the wiki, so you know what to grab when in raid. To my knowledge, armor works by taking the caliber and chance into consideration, so lower-tier calibers cannot penetrate certain armors. But with some calibers, there's only a chance that the round will penetrate, depending on luck. To equip an armor, simply grab it and release it onto your chest, and to remove it, use the trigger and the grab button simultaneously. Armor modules can also be placed onto armor rigs to store magazines, knives, and grenades. These are super useful, so make sure to utilize them. Now, with these armor pouches, you can also mag Palm reload. Most weapons can be mag pmed, and to do this, just grab the mag from your vest and then click the grip button on the mag in the gun to mag palm and simply swap it out. Now, another side note is the higher tier your armor, the heavier you will be, and that brings us to the weight system. Tor currently has a weight system that works decently well, but the main premise is

the more you carry, the slower you will be, and the slower your stamina will regenerate. So, you can see your current weight by looking at your watch, and you can see it update with each item you pick up or drop. Just be mindful of your weight when in certain situations; it can definitely be detrimental in gunfights. So, bringing energy drinks or on-shot energy shoes into the raid is a great way to regain your stamina on the fly. But be mindful, as one-shot shoes will dehydrate you a pretty good amount. Moving on to backpacks, there's currently four types of backpacks in Tabor: the sling bag, adventure bag, gear-tech bag, and the Ragnar bag. Each carries a different amount of items, with the gear-tech being able to hold any weapon in the back slot, and the Ragnar can also hold several weapons at once. The adventure bag does not unlock until level two minty, so be sure to level up fast in order to get more backpack space. Back to the topic of armor, Tabor also has several helmets in

the game protection varies from low-tier armor to much higher-tier armor, and the protection works the same as the armored vest. The pilot helmet is the lowest tier. It can occasionally block rounds like a .22 LR or maybe a caliber or two above that. It's pretty [ __ ], but it blocks a lot of your vision, so it's not really worth wearing, to be honest. But every helmet above the level one is pretty damn good, and it's very important to bring into raids. Yes, you can still get one-tapped if you're unlucky, but having the chance for your head not to get blown to pieces is often pretty nice. Some helmets can even stock night vision goggles, which are super useful for darker maps like Night Island, Maester, even Missile Silo. The Alton helmet can even hold a face shield that can stop several rifle cers. And that brings me to the topic of ammunition. There are three types of ammo that could be crafted in the bunker: Full Metal Jacket, Tracer, and Armor Piercing. FMJ is

the standard round loaded into every firearm into bore tracers are the same as FMJ, although they leave a trail when fired, especially visible at night. AP rounds offer much better penetration for armor and should definitely be used if possible. You can find each powder in raid, or you can purchase it from the market, depending on your Trader levels. Crafting ammo also requires brass, which you can find or purchase as well. Once you have poured in the powder and set in the brass into the machine, select the caliber and the type of ammo you want to craft, and pull the lever to start crafting. Then open up the box, dump it into the loader by clicking the trigger, pop in a MAG, click load, and you're good to go. Now let's talk about crafting medical supplies. Medical supplies can also be crafted if you have the right Hideout upgrades. With a level one Med block unlocked, you can use this machine to craft bandages using toilet paper. As long as your generator is running, you are able to place toilet paper in the

bottom drawer. Start up the machine and receive your bandages. Now, with the level two Med block, you gain access to the NRS crafter. This is where you can use your tan Sun product from the nursery to craft Med shots. The amount of NRS crafted will increase with more room upgrades as you go on, but uh, growing weed is fairly simple in this game, and there's plenty of guides out there if you need additional help. Regarding weapon customization, attachments can be found in raid or purchased from Spectre at the market, and using attachments is super beneficial. So, slap on a grip and a sight or whatever you want, and you'll have a much higher chance of survival with the right weapon build. There's also several different kinds of suppressors for each gun type, so make sure you have the right one before aimlessly trying to throw it on. Now, let's talk about the healing system in Ghost of Tor. Getting shot hurts, and sometimes you can even bleed if you're unlucky. When you get shot, check your health on your watch and

look out for a symbol in the middle indicating a bleed. A bleed will slowly tick down your health over time, and there's currently two types of bleeds: heavy and light, one of which will do a lot more damage and give a fade-out effect if not treated quickly. So, to fix a bleed, simply bring or find a bandage in a med box that is located around the maps. Click the trigger on your arm and start wrapping. The bandage will take about 30 seconds to fully heal up, and you cannot use Med shots during this time. NRS shots are currently the only way to heal and go with the board at the moment, and they are super rare to find in Med boxes, so purchasing or crafting them is crucial. But once the bandage heals up, stick a med in your arm and check out your health because they will not heal you to full health if you're low. And finally, let's talk about the wipes. So, just like Tarov, this game does have scheduled wipes every three or so months scheduled with the major content updates.

that means everything, including your level bunker and all of your items, will be deleted for the new wipe. It sounds harsh, but restarting with new content to explore is actually super enjoyable. Uh, so make sure you use your gear, don't suffer from gear fear, because just think, if you never use your good gear, it's just going to be deleted in a few months. And also, the better gear you bring, the higher chance you have of surviving. So just don't have gear fear, get over that [__], you got this. And finally, on to some PVP tips. My first tip is to learn the player spawns on each map. Every time you load into a raid, just take a mental note of where you spawned, and then you can rush these spawns for quick player kills in the beginning of raids. Another tip, be mindful of people trying to betray you, especially if they yell to you that they're friendly. I'm not saying that they aren't, but just be careful because they can grab your guns from your holster and kill you the next

tip is to check every single corner, especially on missile silos. Just be aware when clearing close quarters; people love to hide behind doors or in hidden corners, so always be checking these when you're going CQB. Again, learning the maps will be incredibly beneficial to you and your teammates. You'll be able to predict where enemies might be, and you can also flank your enemies with the right map knowledge. That being said, always try and outplay your enemies. If someone knows where you are, try and reposition quietly and then get the jump on them when they least expect it. Don't over-peek the same angle over and over, especially if the enemy knows exactly where you are, 'cause chances are they will be holding that peak, and they will one-tap you before you even get to shoot. Another way to avoid this is to wait for the perfect opportunity to shoot at an enemy. If you see a player shooting at them immediately, it's not always the greatest decision. If possible, position to a place where you have a clear shot and wait for

the enemy to walk in an open place with minimal cover, then try to take them out. The next tip is to listen for audio cues. Footsteps are pretty damn loud in this game, and they can be the difference between winning or losing a gunfight, so listen out for people stopping around and play off of those sounds. Do be aware though that Phoenix can also make footstep noise; however, they always walk in a very specific pattern, so with just a little bit of time, you'll be able to tell the difference between Phoenix footsteps and player footsteps. Now, if you manage to kill a player, always be careful for a second or even a third enemy. A lot of the time, if you kill someone's teammate, the other player will just hide and wait for you to push the loot, so always keep an eye out. Also, don't get caught looting. If you kill someone in the open, try to grab their [__] and run to cover, then begin looting. You don't want to get stuck out in the open with no cover while grabbing

someone's items. It's just not a good idea. And the final tip is to just always stay near cover: rocks, trees, buildings, whatever is nearby. Try to stick to it. Again, just don't get caught in the open. Also, bullets can ricochet in this game, especially on metal surfaces, so just be careful when you're blindlessly spraying at a metal wall. Also, be mindful of roof campers. Players like to sit up there, waiting for you to run out in the open. And honestly, that's about it. Other than those tips, just practice, and you will get better. I promise. Tor can be a very difficult game starting out, but hopefully, this guy can help prepare you just a little bit. So again, the game is launching on The Meta Quest store tomorrow, February 8th. It will be live. It's currently up for pre-order, so make sure to grab it with that discount.
