Hello everyone, Johnny Cooper here. Ever since the episode of 404 Not Found was released at the end of October 2019, everyone asked themselves, What did Tyrell see in the forest? Besides being a nod to Pulp Fiction, it's been a huge mystery for a lot of people, and I thought we'd get answers in the following episodes, but no, that was the end of Tyrell. We just see his phone covered in blood and snow in the next episode, but that's about it. I thought he might have survived and returned since everything about his death felt off, especially the way he went out, was strange for his character. It is off-putting, but I love everything about it since his death is a beautiful metaphor that fits with the show's theme. I have to give props to the cinematography in this show. It's absolutely well shot, which makes Tyrell Wellick's death very memorable for me. I'll be covering Tyrell's relationship with Elliot in this episode and what led to his death.

and what he found in the forest. Tyrell, after unsuccessfully killing the dark army agent, he and Elliot, along with this Mr. Roar persona, are left to go into the wintry forest to finish him off for the whole entire episode. And while being there, they talk about how their lives are completely over now and they're too late to find them as they're stuck in the middle of nowhere, thinking the dark army agent might have already contacted the dark army and sent a badge to execute Elliot and Tyrell. For most of the series, we never see Wellick ask Elliot personal questions since he looks up to Elliot as a god, but here he confesses to him after an argument, and it all comes with one of the themes of the episode, and that is Elliot and Wellick being the complete opposite of each other. Of course, we the audience see it throughout the series, but here we see the characters realizing it as they're stuck alone. Well, it concludes based on the way Elliot dresses all the time, which is

usually in hoodies that Elliot does not simply care about what people think of him, but not with Tyrell. With Tyrell, he spent his whole life wearing expensive suits because he cares about what other people think about him. He wants to be above it all and get higher positions, which is what we saw his character do in season one. He has been very superficial for most of his life, and that prior to meeting Elliot, he had never considered a life where he wasn't supposed to care about what other people thought about him. Now, breaking out of his shell at the end of season 1, he doesn't want to care, but he just can't let his pride and ego go, which we do still see since he wanted to be gods with Elliot. Thought Elliot does later tell Tyrell that he wants to fit in with the rest of the people, which we do see him try but is unsuccessful. Tyrell wants to be the opposite of that, though. After that whole conversation, mastermind Elliot makes Tyrell feel like he is in the real.

Elliot's little fantasy world that he's trapped in the way he wanted to be this whole time, which we see in episode 11, Exit. Tyrell went from looking like a rich douchebag wearing expensive suits to a nerdy hipster looking like Steve Jobs, where he works at Allsafe, acting sort of like our Elliot anyway, while the real Elliot acts the complete opposite. In this reality, Elliot in that universe is a high-ranking corporate executive dressed in a shirt and a knitted sweatshirt, soon to be married with Angela, while Tyrell is seen in a gray hoodie, having taken the position that Elliot has taken in his universe, but without all the suffering Elliot endured, most likely. But that is exactly what Tyrell wanted to be in his life, which concludes the dialogue of his expensive suit. He gets to be that, but only in Elliot's world, of course. In the actual world that the show shows us, he sadly doesn't get to be that. As the episode progresses, Tyrell

and Elliot gets into an argument with Wellick, telling Elliot how he doesn't think that Elliot ever gave a [ __ ] about him, in which Elliott confesses that that's true, while it's the complete opposite for Tyrell, admiring him through the entire series. But here, he realizes the truth on that. Elliot does later say that he does care, but I don't think Tyrell bought that fully, especially since Tyrell did a lot of stuff for Elliot. But Elliot's caring seems a bit half-assed, if you know what I mean, with Tyrell building his life to be on top of everyone for his wife and child, along with realizing that his idol never really cared about him. This all accumulates to Tyrell's life ending up being pointless, and this is why the way Tyrell died fit his character. His death was also for nothing, making it perfect. And while some said his death came out of nowhere, I think the whole episode represents how both Elliot and Tyrell are stuck in purgatory.

since for them the dark army is death. They're also in the middle of nowhere, and if they don't get killed by the dark army, then they'll most likely starve to death there along the forest. You hear screaming in the background, with many people thinking that these sounds were coming from some sort of animal creature. My interpretation is that these sounds are a metaphor of death. Even Tyrell calls it the sound of death. It's calling out for Elliot and Wellick, which Tyrell is scared and paranoid of, but shakes it off. However, as the episode comes to a close, Elliot gets to leave purgatory and is given a chance, while Tyrell doesn't, who ends up being fatally wounded by the dark army agent who just ended up offing himself. Tyrell parts ways with Elliot and goes deeper inside the cold snowy forest to follow the source of the eerie screeching sounds, which meant he was approaching his death that I was calling out for him the entire episode. At the end of season 2, episode 11, Tyrell

cites the movie Casablanca. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship to Elliot as they're both walking away, and in this episode, they pay homage to that again, where he now walks away alone, bleeding to death, marking the end of a beautiful friendship with Elliot. Poetry at its best. We get to the final shot of the episode where we see Tyrell approaching the camera, where he sees something that is projecting a blue glowing light. Previously scared of the sounds, what he saw wasn't anything to be afraid of at all. It was beautiful. He finally found and accepted his own death in the woods, smiling with wonder in his mind. His line in season 1 episode 9's ending comes full circle: I thought I'd feel guilty for being a murderer, but I don't. I feel wonder. This was also Wellick's second attempt on killing someone personally in the series. And now we come to the answer of this video: the blue glowing light he saw was [Music] the blue screen of death, or in short, as

bsod. For those who don't know, it's an error screen displayed on Windows computers following a fatal system error. It indicates a system crash in which the operating system has reached the condition where it can no longer operate safely. This is caused by many different problems, such as a general hardware failure or a crucial process terminating unexpectedly, basically making the computer dead and no longer usable. Of course, the blue screen of death in Tyrol's demise is a metaphor that fits perfectly with the show's theme of computers and such. He followed the sounds of death, aka him following his own grave, and when he finally gets there, he saw the blue screen of death, which is where the sounds were coming from. In other words, he saw his own death and accepted it as his body system crashed, aka his body was shutting down from all that blood loss he was losing, and died. And it is also for us, the viewers, to see the blue glowing lights, see that visually and by an art director's perspective. All of this was handled exponentially.

well, it was a creative way to say goodbye to Tyrell's character. His death is meant to be symbolic, and if we were to put this in real-life logic, there never was anything physically projecting the blue glowing light that he saw. He was bleeding to death and was hallucinating it. Him hearing the sounds of death was him worrying that he would die in the forest during early on in the episode, but in Tyrell's mind, he hallucinated finding a piece of computer since, you know, that's what the thing he loves, which he imagined the blue screen of death to make it fit with his own demise. And I think that's pretty cool. As Tyrell takes his final breaths, he finally sees light, and the art director makes it known by making the screen fade to white with the credits rolling. As in normal TV, the episodes always end on white to black, while here it ends on black to white to make it known that Tyrell is seeing heaven. And now, afterwards, his body collapses off-screen as he succumbs to his

injuries, and his body was most likely never found given that he died in the middle of nowhere, making it an even more perfect end for his character. Thank you guys so much for watching.
