walk towards me. Well, get over here. She's scared. On January 20th, 2023, officers responded to a car theft. One of the witnesses told the police that juveniles had used a crowbar to break in and steal the car. Here's what happened next. Was it his daughter that took the okay that she wasn't driving? A guy was driving. Okay. I know they've caused problems for him in the past. She always has a bunch of little friends over, right? Yeah, but they used a crowbar to break in. Oh, I see that. I was going to ask if it was parked in there, but that answers my question. And where do you live? In this next door one? Yes, 'cause I was in my room folding laundry. I was like, What the heck? Um, well, I wasn't fully dressed, so I couldn't come up. I saw it all happen. Okay, well, like I said, I appreciate you calling it in. Um, there, he's on his way home? Yes, he just called our dispatcher saying he's coming from El Paso. Yeah, and he's about 15.

minutes away, so we'll wait for him. I just don't want them to wreck and hurt somebody else. Yeah, no kidding. That's my biggest fear. Was it backed in here, or was it facing your trailer? No, it was like that. Like, I mean, oh, sorry. Yeah, this way. When they were backing out, they hit this thing right here twice. Know how to back out? Oh, jeez. Did they seem like they were juveniles also? Like, they all teen? They're all young. Yeah, hi. So, um, this, this is the neighbor. She lives here. She witnessed the whole thing. I was just barely starting to get her information. Um, the father that lives here is the victim. He's coming from El Paso. He's about 15 minutes out. Okay. She said it was the daughter. He always has trouble with his daughter. She always has a bunch of little friends over and daughter. She's always screaming and cussing and causing all kinds of problems. And she'll fight you. She doesn't. I guess she was with three other three other girls and then

one other male, three girls, and one male. Yeah, three girls and one. Okay, and where's the vehicle? It, it's St. They stole it. Yeah, it was, it was in this driveway. They used a crowbar to break that. They PR that open the gate, and then there's the, the, the M's glass right there. He left. Okay, okay. Has fingerprints or what? No, yeah, I'll dust that for Prince, but I know the Crowbar probably does. But a girl used the Crowbar. Uh, so what got your attention? Did you hear them busting this up or? Well, at first, I saw the kids jump the fence, so right away, I called my ex-husband, called her dad because there's kids in going inside his house again, and then he calls, he tells me, well, if you see him take, you know, bring out anything, call me, and I'll call the cop. The other officer attempted to collect fingerprints from the cup. I'm not going to be able to pull prints off that cup, man. Get it's 'cause it's textur. Shortly after, another team of

officers who were following the stolen vehicle based on the description provided by Dispatch attempted to investigate it. Yeah, I don't see anybody, man. Move up. Yeah, we move up together. Get this out of the way. They just came back and did it, dude. I thought for sure it was the one that was going in Sp. I did too, 'cause I saw it was all faded. Yeah, yeah. So they just ditched it here 'cause I think that's where the other units are at already. There's the daughter. She's a juvenile. She was accompanied by three juvenile females. One of them had pink hair. The other two had ponytails. The male, you said he looked about 14. He's thin, shorter stature, light-skinned Hispanic, glasses, and a black jacket. But these two females right here on crosses were hiding. I got one in red shirt, female hiding in the desert, possibly with a second one. And it took off from you. Yeah, it took off. I was right there behind the Wier SLE. Uh-huh. 'Cause I saw it. I was going on El Camino.

ra no El I was going on Elks, and then I saw it was in front of me, and then it went the Turney Lane by the p w. Yeah, I got to be draing. Let me see your hands. Let's go to police for walk towards [Music]. Me, you in the red, stay there with your hands up. We have some in the middle of the desert. Looks like there's a female with a red sweater M and a black. Get over here now. Walk towards me. Well, get over here. Here, she's scared. I don't care. Turn around. Are you Maria? Yeah, that's Maria. That's Maria. Yeah, you already know you're in trouble. Get your over here. Hurry up. What, guys? Get over here. Put your hands behind your [Applause] back decision face. Don't be scared, all right? Don't scared soon. The owner of the vehicle arrived to get his car. Young kids, they don't know, know, you know what I'm saying? They don't have. I catch that he's dead. He dead. There's no

way catch me or nothing. What's his name? I don't know, but she's kicking it with him all the time. I don't know what her [__] problem is. I could see it more from this side. I don't know if she had a spare key or they punched out your ignition. That's what I was wondering 'cause that's, oh, that's punched out. I didn't know if it was like that or if there was anything noticeable that they took. So it's your, yeah, why would you steal my car, you know what I'm saying? Why would, why would she do that? Other officers have visual of them, and I think they're trying to catch them. Do you want to pursue charges? Yeah, I want to pursue charges. Okay, do you have your ID with you by chance? I'm going to start getting your info, and you said it was your daughter and her boyfriend. All right, you want to hang out a big boy? All right, those are the only ones I saw.

don't cry. How you doing? Good. Hey, I'm Officer Recal, LCPD. Hi. Hey, we're looking for a vehicle that somebody stole, and they're saying that you guys were seen near it, and you're walking out of the desert where it was. Okay, where you guys coming from? I'm coming from Bana over there. Okay, you're all sweaty like you've been running. Okay, we walking, walking, tough. Okay, let's go over here so that way we're away from all these cars over in this dirt lot. I'm going to talk with you over here. Okay, I don't know what to do. You know what I'm saying? The police, the state of New Mexico says they can't do nothing and wait till the probation. I got the papers in there, and they don't do anything. They've done nothing. They don't do anything. A kid that's 14 can get a gun and kill somebody, and they won't. The 100% right, sir. Unfortunately, we have 14-year-olds that have killed people. You have any weapons?

on you no I got a sticker though me oh sticker go me you got ID on you oh I got some marijuana you got some marijuana not too concerned about that yeah I take what's your name Arisa who Arisa they was just looking for me too Arisa yeah irisa irisa why were they belonging cuz I stole the gun you stole a gun yeah where's the gun at okay I haven't got the money yet but I was going to get it like tomorrow you got anything in your pockets hold up do you have anything in your pockets I'm asking you a question lean back yeah they're they're up in the prison up there up there that way and then they'll get out they'll do it again meanwhile the other officers were interrogating the two girls here is good I just wanted to get away from the sidewalk these cars are kind of close what are your names name Marissa Marissa and what is your name Aaliyah Aaliyah okay who you with

Who else you with? Nobody. Not the other two hiding in the desert where we saw you guys coming out of. Okay, do me a favor, stand by with this officer. Just stand by with them. I'm going to flip my unit around. All right, all right guys, so I do have to re-Miranda just 'cause you are holding right across the street story apartment. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You guys are being accused of being involved in an auto theft that happened, so you're going to be detained. Do me a favor, take your backpack off. You're going to be putting handcuffs. It doesn't mean you're going to jail. It's just we have more questions for you, but we also have to help these other officers, and we're not going to have you guys running off on us, okay? So do me a favor, face away from me, please. You true man, can you go and take off your backpack? So just CU, you're going in CL.

doesn't mean you're going to jail being charged with the crime. You're just being put in what's uh what do you have anything in your pockets at all no okay before I have you sitting there. I'm just going to check real quick. You don't got anything in your jacket. Nothing like that. I mean I could tell you got nothing in your pockets. I just got to make sure okay yeah just uh have a seat yeah. I got stickers in my foot. Can you what's that? I got sticker in my foot. I'll help you with that in just a minute. Do me a favor just swing your legs in and I'll come back and help you okay. Give me one second I'll be right with you and I'll help you with that sticker one or two. Hey can you get my phone? I just got this phone okay hold you grab that phone okay all right hey my backpack damn hey you know what to those backpacks. My Bott Reco Sal going how old are you Arisa? I'm 15 oh my

weed. I just got that from someone's backyard 'cause I dropped it yesterday. Which one, Myck? I just got that. Which one's your backpack? Uh, that one, right? Oh, that one. Oh, that one. What's in there? I'm going to tell you which. Which is this one yours? Yeah, that's mine. Okay. I P put charger in my phone. I just got that [ __ ] like yesterday. Pull your pants up. Oh my Edibles. Oh no, those some good Edibles. Can we search your backpack? Oh, you can search my backpack. Okay, but this is not yours though, right? Oh, that's mine too. They're both your backpacks. Oh well, they're all of ours, like everything's together. No, whatever's in there I need to see what's in there 'cause we all have the same backpack so I don't know which one. The officer tried to explain the situation to the juvenile suspect. I explained it to your friend. I'm sure officer Pagan explained it. If not, you're not under arrest just because you're in handcuffs.

You're in what's called investigative detention. That just means you're not free to leave while we investigate the allegations made against you guys. Like I said, we got called to a vehicle that was stolen off of Al Camino Real. Supposedly, you guys are friends of the girl that was involved in stealing it. Vehicle found over there, and you guys are seen running through the desert, hiding down. Doesn't mean you're getting charged with something. Doesn't mean I'm accusing you specifically of doing it, but I just want to keep you in the loop as far as why you're in cuffs and why there's this big old show. Okay, knives, nothing like that, and you don't have to reach in them. It's just a yes or no. I think car mix. What do you have in your back right [Applause] pocket? Miranda got both her 49 just real quick 'cause I stopped him over there by the. They catch the guy, and you saved his life. Okay, that means he's going to go to jail, and he's

going to be charged, and uh, the state will take care of it, but if I catch him, he's in trouble. He's a dead, and there's nothing the FBI can do about it. Just going to be a disappeared. I get you. Let me see if they want the car to stay here or if we can start making arrangements to get that's oh [__] man. I'm tell of these. I love man. I don't even know where that [__] at. I'm going to roll the one down, okay? I appreciate it. So your name is Arisa, but she hasn't reported you as a runaway. Oh, okay. So are you supposed to be in school? I'm Sor. I got K. Get what school are you supposed to be going to? Well, I could go to any school. I got so right now. We need to get a since you're underage. We have to get a hold of a parent, and we'll let them know she lives, but I don't know her phone number. You don't know her phone number. I can

take you matter of fact. You know what, let me get you out of the cuffs now. I'm going to still have you sit back here. I know you're not going to run off on me, but just we got to keep you contained, right? And just that way you're a little more comfortable. Want to step out for me and face that way, and I'll get them off you. And what's your address, F? So where you currently staying at, um, on there, on where I'm a runway. You're a runway, okay. So you don't have anywhere where you're currently staying at or anything. Do you have a phone number? Do you know your social? You don't know your social, okay. No worries. What happened today, man? Is that a chain? So like, why are we here? I don't know, you were just walking. Mhm, okay. You weren't with any, with two other people? I with, that's your friend? Yeah, I appreciate you guys. Are you Mr. Chavez? Nice to meet you, Mr. Chavez. Appreciate you.

guys um you got your vehicle and everything yeah okay what did they let you know um just press charges that's it okay they got all my information he said if I wanted to press charges he said yes um all of them need to go to jail they need to learn a valuable lesson man you know what I'm saying corre have respect for authority they they always say the police and the police you know what I did 10 years in prison did I ever say the police you know what I up myself okay I have respect foral I have respect for everybody it was my business that I went and and did what I did okay but I never acted like that you know a real G take care of his [ __ ] you know what I mean that that is ridiculous I put a roof over her head I I I took her from Harm's Way I went to Mexico to get her when she was 3 months old she had a breathing problem her mother left her in the room for like 2 weeks by herself she

almost died, man. You know what I mean? But she doesn't. She doesn't think about that, that I brought her, and I had to get paperwork from the district court and everything just to get her here. Which one's your daughter? Uh, Maria. Maria. Okay, so we don't have Maria here. She's not currently here. She's over there with the other officers. Okay. Did they do an auto that after for David and have you signed, sir? Uh, no, no. We'll go ahead and knock that out right now. All right. Here's what the suspect's dad told the police. We'll just wrap everything up, and then we're going to call their parents. Okay, yeah, they need to go to jail. Yeah, they need to go to jail. These the same ones that were breaking in your. They broke $1,000 worth of windows. These girls are part of all. All these girls right here are part of that. Okay. Did any of the parents come forward and say, you know what, I'm going to take responsibility for what my kid did, right?

and pay a little bit or call James up and have some way I could pay right now. They didn't do that, you know what I'm saying? So I said, you know what, before the sun goes down, sir, you're going to have your window in. And he said, I don't think so. I don't. I went straight over there. I told him, get your ass over there and measure it right now because it's close to Christmas, a couple days to Christmas, right? You do have a lot of options. You think so for running away? Okay, what's Stephanie's last name? Your mom's last name? You think it's what? You don't know your mom's last name? No, because he has swiped my credit card. I don't give a [__] how much it cost. Make sure you got a window, right? So now he's, he cried, man. He cried. He said, you know what, man, I never met a person like you before that's just so straight up, man. And I said, you know what

I would do. I would hope that one day in the future that you would be kind to somebody else too, you know what I mean, because it all comes around. And he got a new window daughter staying with you now, or well, she's. I told the probation office that she's in and out, so I said, okay. So, so, so, I said, it's a broken system. So, so, if one of these kids that's 14 or 15 or 13 or even well gets a gun or a knife, okay, and decides to in somebody's house and terrorize some old lady and kill them, or terrorize an officer because they don't like officers, what the is a, what is, what's wrong with our society? The gangster mentality is not, you know what I mean, wearing pants. Gangsters in my days have money. They got a suit and a tie, and they got money in their pocket and a job, you know what I'm saying? But these kids, they think that being a gangster is shooting.

somebody because of a color. You know, you know the other ones' glasses. I don't know. I don't know. He's giving us, but he left, and I haven't gone through him. Can I look through your backpacks? Yeah, there's some bottles, I think, in there. I'm sorry, some bottles. Some bottles, like alcohol? Yeah. Is there any drugs? I don't know. I'm not too sure. Okay, how about guns? Guns? Okay. Chances are they got to call JPO. JPO is the only one that can approve detention. Like, I know you want them in jail, so do we, but if JPO says no, we approved detainment. All they get is juvenile citation, and it sucks 'cause you're right, system's broken. It sucks. Nobody understands that better than us. We can arrest him on violent crimes, and JP's like, Hey, release him back to the parent. Yeah, what if the parents a victim? So you just want to release them back? Yeah, I'm going, I'm going to go to work, so I don't know who.

She's going to be released to. I'm going straight back to work so they can want jail just check in with those officers right quick the ones that are around the you see their lights just make sure they don't need nothing from you cuz we got what we needed from you and me and him are going to deal with these two and then they have the other two over there brother God bless you like I If you go to k and you're at la Havana Bar and Grill you just talk to me and I'm going to take care of you on that one of the officers attempted to contact the foster parent of the suspect's friend Guardian correct you're not her guardian who's her guardian she's in the system she's in the system she's a foster parent and she said that you were her legal guardian can I call case worker so she answers so you can talk to her because you guys keep bringing her over here work keeps calling me so where is she currently staying at um in the shelter I

don't know what shelter though in the shelter. Okay, and there wouldn't be a way I could leave her here with Juma. That's fine. I'll call her case worker right now. Uh, you can go ahead and give me a number, and I'll give her a call, man. Hello, how y'all doing? Good? You good? Hey, I'm Ops LCPD. Are you Emily? Yes. Got your daughter in the back seat. Um, lucky for her, she's not getting charged with anything today. Basically, what happened is her and some friends went over to the friend's dad's house and stole his truck. And so those two, the other two, are in trouble. What do I need to do with her because she's on probation? Yeah, so because she's not charged with a crime, it's not a violation. But I'm going to leave you with a card, okay? And let her probation officer know. I told her the same thing I'm going to tell your mom. Let the officer know, and you need to let her

know that you had interaction with us. You got detained 'cause basically the truck was taken. They ditched it on Cino Roale 'cause some officers started following them, and they all ran off. Wow, and so lucky for you to hear that, Amy. So I will give you a business card with that case number. One of her friends stole the dad's truck. Um, oh, she's so grounded, dude. She had a backpack on her, and I told her I was going to ask this in front of you. Do you mind if I check it? And the only reason I ask is I guess one of the other friends was saying that they had stolen a gun recently but already sold it, so we don't have any reason to believe she has it, but it would just give us peace of mind 'cause she's like, No, no, there's nothing in my backpack, peace of mind to yeah. And I didn't want to do it without, you know, your permission since you're the parent. Please, please. Okay, so I'm going to let her out. She's not in cuffs.

and so lucky for her. You can step back. So, if you couldn't hear, I explained everything to your mom, saying that you're not getting charged with anything, but you guys both need to let the JPO officer know regardless. She said it was cool if I check your backpack. You don't mind? There's nothing illegal, right? Like if you got weed pipes. I don't care about that. I just got to make sure because that stolen gun got mentioned. Hey, what's this? What's that, Ed? Is it laced with it? Oh, Edibles. If the end. Okay, so weed with edibles. So, I'm going to charge you with possession of marijuana that much and resistant obstru. What did I do? You, you, you're running from us. I didn't run from you and 979. I, and when I take you home, uh, I got to find out for your mom if you report as a runaway. Okay, is there anything I need to know about in here? You sure? Okay, I'm just going to check it on the hood of my

car. I'm going to leave this with you. You can dispose of those how you see fit because I can tell you if we take it, we're just going to pour them out and I ha to see it go to waste. Let me pour them out right now, okay? It's up to you guys if you want to pour them out. I'm okay with that, but because there were two other little girls in here and they had a little party on Saturday and they drank, I need you to come over here and no, I'm okay with you guys pouring it out right here in front of me that way 'cause it's all on camera. I don't drink, I don't up. Mom, you know exactly you asked me for a shot the other day. Let me get no. Serenity, shut your mouth. I'm going to get you guys a business card. Why don't you get back to school? Why do I don't go to 'cause school don't teach me nothing. It don't teach me about the world. Listen, it

don't teach you okay, but all you got to do is sit in that class and I just stare like okay, okay listen. All you got to do now is making some money, but I'll tell you what you need to get that high school diploma, and then after that, no matter what you need to get that high school diploma, then after that, the people, yes, we, everybody, I'm trying to help you, I'm trying to give you some advice. I know, but did you catch us all? How many you to cash everybody? What do you mean? Who's everybody? Everybody like got the other two girls. Mhmm, for real [__] man. No, not my chick. Still got Denise. So which one's your girlfriend? Denise? Yeah, yeah. Okay, the other two girls were not released to their parents. Instead, they were taken to juvenile centers. Do you want me to stand by here at the aune's residence, or do you want me to drop her off at the cfd, ma'am, at the cfd office? Okay, where's the cfd office located?

it the one on Idaho so about I'm sorry we can't leave you with your auntie. No, she, we have to do, and she, her aunt told, take her so can do that. She's under our custody. Okay, okay, yeah, okay, okay, okay, ma'am, thank [Applause] you. Nothing she wanted advised me that you guys were her legal guardians. However, um, when I spoke to her auntie, your wife, she told me that she has a case worker. So legally, I can't leave her with someone who's not her guardian. So I called the case worker, and they advised me I had to take her to cfd right there on road run and uh, turn her over to one of the workers there named Vanessa. You're going to be okay. Come down, you're going to be okay here. This is why I told you you should have stayed here, and we would have called you Poli. You're always getting into trouble, Mar. You don't listen. They're going to me you over there, Mar. Call me, I'm not going to

allow her at my house, so I don't know what you guys. She mentioned something about a Darlene. I don't know who that person is. Who is that person? That's her friend. That's her friend. The her apartment where she broke the ,000 wor the windows where she's not supposed to be. That's the one. That's Darlene. That's Darlene. Are there any other relatives or adults that you would Phil would be viable that because I can't just I understand sending her home with you is going to just make more problems later. I don't want to do that. Mar is Gonna Learn. He's going to learn now. You know what? I've been a good father for her for 14 years. Single parent man. I'm the one who makes the tortillas. I'm the one who pays the bills. We're there's no food stamp card. No nothing. I work hard. You know. I mean I don't know. I don't know what. What does she want from me? You. I mean she

wants to be rich or whatever. Go to school, get a degree, and kids nowadays don't understand that you got to work for the stuff you want. Yeah, job, you know, work hard. All right, Maria, here's the plan. Going on the plan. Dad doesn't want you at the house. CFD. The I'm sorry. JP is not authorizing you to go to jail, so you can't go to jail. But I can't let you go with anybody that's not your relative, and your dad's not working with me on that. So the best option we could do is I'm going to turn you over to Child Protective Services, and they're going to try to find you placement, probably in a foster home temporarily until you can figure something out. I'll take this off. Be I know that's not what you want. It's not what I want either, but I can't let you go home with Dad. That's going to make a problem worse, right? You're gonna be cool. I'm not got no problems with you. I can take you out of handcuffs. You're

not gonna attack me or do anything crazy, right? Not going to try to run from me. I'm faster than I look, I promise. Okay, all right, so go ahead and just, while you're sitting down, turn that way for me. Turn your feet that way for me. Let me take these cuffs off you real quick. I need you to turn. There you go. So you, that there's a charge out here for stealing a handgun, right? Okay. I don't know if that came out in the system. No. So, so I ran her information. So you're saying that there's a warrant for her arrest. I don't know if they were War, but she, my sister pressed charges because she stole that. I had a 9M handgun on Saturday, and she sent my sister a text and told her that she did do it. Yeah, she's just been giving us a lot of trouble, and I was, I actually should have asked you. I, if she doesn't have a warrant, I would like to take her to Msia Valley to get her.

evaluated because I was told that she's taking some type of drugs. Yeah, so I'm going to. So here are the charges that I have for right now. Here, get out, sit in the front seat. You see my car, I'm going to be pissed, okay? I, to be honest, I don't know what to say to tell you not to, other than just please don't do this stuff anymore. Seen too many dead kids, kids your age caught up doing this kind of [__]. Some advice from an old guy to a young person, quit while you're ahead. Got, it's like a buggy for toon. What's up, man? I was there for all of, uh, like 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the officer and the juvenile worker attempted to reason with the other female. We can't put, we can't put you in your aunt's home unless your, will you guys make it so hard? Like, I been through so much ready. You guys just don't understand. Like, I promise I won't run away from my, the house. I won't do

Anything bad to go to my finally still going to your the. That's not what we're saying. We're telling you that we're okay with you going to your DS. We're willing to do that, but she has to be willing to allow you to go in her home. Denise, okay, I'll give you her number. What we are charging with is later, as we learned and you told me that you were a runaway. When we went ahead and looked you up in the system, you've been a runaway since December 23rd, 2022. So, since last year, and you've been in the system, so you have a history of running away. You don't want to bump into me or other officers too much. You know, we want you to have like a good life and, you know, be a good kid and grow up to be a good adult and have a career, a family, a job of your own, you know. And the route you're going right now, Denise, it's just, it brings a lot of worry to not only us but like to your caretakers.

that see you every day. It's just almost, you know, it's heartbreaking 'cause you guys have your whole future ahead of you, and you're throwing it down the drain for really nothing. You guys haven't even seen the world. So, what I'm not charging you for the prowling or anything like that, but we are going to go ahead and do the runaway now. What this does, it'll assign a JPO to you, and they'll go ahead and monitor you, and they'll be in direct contact with you. And I'm not doing it to be mean. I'm not doing it out of personal malice. I'm just doing it because I think this is the best thing for you. Just want to be, you just want to be happy, but like doing these bad things, not going to make you happy in the long term. Like your auntie and uncle, from that short brief time period I spoke to them, they even said that like you go there all the time and that I need to get in contact with your caseworker.

and they do tell me Denise was charged with runaway, while Maria was charged with unlawful tak of a motor vehicle. Additionally, Arisa was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. YouTube thinks you'll love the video on screen. Click to watch now.
