I know a lot of people have messaged you individually, talking about struggling towards success or struggling with failure. So I wanted to ask how you see making a commitment to life fitting in with people's ideas of success and failure. Every story starts with within us

of success or failure, and there are a few reasons why this story doesn't work. Because people's action is outward-oriented; that I have to do something out there. We are only thinking of the target, but they are not pulling the bow backwards so that you can go forward.

This backward pull is the inner movement, out of that inner gathering of energy, inner commitment to an idea. You shoot an action out, but what is happening is people have hundreds of arrows in their hand and they have only one action to do. [Music] Um, so they are playing around and wondering

why things are not working because your mind is so scattered and it's unable to shoot even a single arrow. Then you wonder, 'I have a bow, I have arrows, why aren't they shooting?' The reason why they are not shooting is that you can shoot one arrow at one time, and

with commitment you have to know where you are shooting, and for that, how much momentum you have to gather. Swami Ramatish said that if you want your desires to happen, desire it and forget about it; leave it to your interiority to work for

it. But if you're constantly thinking of your desire, you're wasting your action energy, which brings results. You are constantly leaking that action energy into fantasizing about the results, fantasizing about your future and what you will get when you do this, when you

Do that. How will you be so great then? All this you are consuming, you are sucking off your creative energy, which you decided to make a plan and do something, and you start to suck it off, living a psychologically pleasant sensation because we are looking for egoistic, psychological sensations.

Pleasant sensations: "Oh, I am doing this, and I'll tell 20 people I am doing this." You're not helping yourself with that, and you are only living off your own energy. So that is one. The other is that we have to understand that each desire, each action,

comes from your intention. You could be doing the right action for the situation, but behind it, if your intention is of doubt, if in your intention there is fear, if in your intention there is any dishonesty or cheating with life, that means that some people give money or help people, or

beggars, but they also take a selfie with it while they help. I think and they put it on Facebook, so you—your ego is already using it for its own, what you say, gratification. So the intention behind the action of giving somebody was not to

give somebody; it was to gain accolades from people for your action. So life will count your intention, not your action. That's what in India we believe: if you have to kill somebody, if you kill somebody and your intention is not of violence but that

the situation demands it, it won't create a karma for killing. But you can even think to kill somebody but not kill somebody; your karma is of killing. So what we are doing is, in our own time, we are thinking hundreds of things which are against your goals, against your wishes.

Or intentions, and that is namely fear. You do an action, then you worry if it doesn't happen the moment you think it. You already created a possibility of it not happening, and the cosmos says, 'So be it.' So focus and commitment to your action is also about supporting your action.

Not only living into circumstances, you're supporting your action while you're living your life. So this is not fantasizing your action. You will not talk about it again and again and wonder why it isn't happening. People love to talk about their failures; that is another big hindrance

because they're wasting their present energy, which they could gather like a bow and shoot into the next action. They sit down and gloat about their sufferings, and that's how they're consuming themselves. The reason behind it is that we are looking for attention from people.

In suffering, we get more attention. Hmm. In happiness, people are basically jealous of you. Why do people give you attention when you're suffering? It's that they feel better than you. But when you are happy and blooming, they feel like, okay, this guy is better than me.

We have to look at the idea of success. Our idea of success is whether I will get accolades or money or not. As Satguru was saying today, that by the end of it, you have to ask yourself, 'Are you a successful human being?' It does not matter whether you got

success outside or not. Are you a successful human being? Are you doing what needs to be done in your life and living this attitude of being creative? Creative with life, sharing with life; life reflects back with the same sharing, with the same creativity. Some people call it success; some people

Call it failure, but I call it a blessing each time. It blesses you back; you see, when you have a negative thought, it doesn't mean the universe curses you; it blesses you back. It will reflect back only what intentions you are putting
