I am so glad to be here. I would like to take this opportunity to ask about the life story of Soyoung Dongjang, whom you know. First of all, may I ask how old you are and where you are from? I was born, raised, and still living in Namyangju. I was born in 1987, so I am now 38 years old. Yes, I have been living in Namyangju all this time. My hometown is Namyangju, and my shop is also located in Namyangju. I am Soyoung Nongjang, who has been living steadily in Namyangju. Oh, just by looking at you, you can feel that you have a very unique appearance. Many people will feel that you are quite hip and have a sense of fashion. Did you major in that field by any chance? Well, it's a bit embarrassing to say, but thank you for looking at me that way. My major is in fashion. Yes, so since high school, I have been interested in clothes.

I liked it, so I went to college and majored in design. I worked at a company and even managed my own store. Yes, that's right. The store was operated in Hongdae. How long did you run the store? I ran the store for about 2 years. Oh, you must have done well. You must have faced a lot of hardships. Yes, you have to do what you are good at, but at that time, I was so passionate about what I wanted to do that sticking to what I really wanted became a poison. Before that, I was operating a breeding room at home, and when I put up the first sign and operated the store, it was about three years ago. Yes, it was impactful for me too. There was an impact on appearance, but I hadn't been to Namyangju much, so I went all the way to Namyangju and there was a room full of reptiles in the aquarium over there. When I heard that the beard farmer had his first naming ceremony, I was really envious. The person I heard has the spirit of freedom is just perfect here. Just who.

Even if I explain, this person understands right away. It's a bit unfair, isn't it? That's right, because the appearance itself is ordinary. It's quite restrictive. However, in terms of appearance, there is a sense of freedom. Oh, it looks so good. It was so impactful that it wasn't forgotten, and now, running a shop with overflowing energy, breeding, and people who love it can feel that love. Yes, without that, the driving force to do this is not there. No, it won't work. Yes, this is a difficult job, managing and taking care of living organisms, which consumes tremendous energy. So, the moment that energy drops, honestly, I can't continue this. I just need to love this energy to lead it. It seems like it will be similar no matter what the task is, maintaining that energy is extremely difficult. That's why it feels really challenging.

So, going back to the old story, when I was doing clothing, I really loved clothes since high school. I was deeply into it until I started this reptile business. I lived just by looking at clothes, but then I opened my eyes to reptiles, and from that moment on, I've been here. So, the love shifted right away. So, the question is, when was your first reptile, and what was it? When I looked it up, it was around the summer of 2018, and a leopard gecko was my first one. But even back then, I really wanted a crested gecko. In 2018, I hadn't been exposed to reptiles yet. Were there many crested geckos in Korea at that time? When crested geckos were being imported a lot back then, shops relied more on imports. Now, they breed a lot and sell them, but back then, they relied more on imports, so there were many imported individuals.

The selling price itself was higher than now. Lilly Whites are over 1 million won. Now, breeding is happening a lot, and breeding is happening a lot domestically, so the selling price itself has decreased somewhat on average. At that time, it was very high. The ones I like have always been expensive. It's still the same now. It's expensive to raise. It feels very expensive. Yes, so the barrier was too big. But now that I'm doing this as a profession, it's a bit less. When I first felt it, the barrier was huge to me. The Rhacodactylus, you know, the barrier for the selling price, so I bypassed it. Leopard, the Leopard gecko, this one is invincible and pretty, right? The tangerine color is so beautiful, so I first entered through that color itself.

Please explain in more detail how you started breeding leopard geckos or if you have dealt with other species before. It's quite interesting here. I was afraid of snakes before. You know, there are vague fears, right? But I have never been bitten by a snake. However, when I see a snake on TV, it looks scary. In animations and movies, all the villains are reptiles, so I had a prejudice against them. I felt like a snake would bite me if I touched one, even though other lizards didn't have that kind of bias. Snakes, in particular, seemed very strong to me. But as I started to visit reptile shops more often, I brought a leopard gecko as my first pet. Then, the next one I adopted was a snake. However, the shop owner said, I'll help you handle it. When he put it in my hand, it was really...

When you set up a baby corn snake nest, it's smaller than the palm of your hand. Even if your friend asks, it won't hurt them if they get bitten. But why am I so scared of this? Why am I so scared? Even if I get bitten, it doesn't hurt as much as getting a cut on my hand. Even if I get stung, it won't hurt. This one is growing up now, so it doesn't harm me at all. The second reptile I raised is a snake. So, the snake, yes, that friend is still alive. Yes, it's still living well on the farm. Since the adult size is not that big, it's a corn snake. And then, now it's gone. It's something that you can raise all the time. From then on, there is no more brake, and it's a barrier that you can raise everything. If I have the financial means, I can definitely bring it with me. What about others?

That's right. Ah, at first, the leopard gecko I brought was a male, and until it became sexually mature, I raised only one. Yes, so when my friend became a female, oh, then I wanted to pair this friend with another, and the desire of the owners who want to match another mate for this friend. Right, I also wanted to see the babies of this friend again, so I brought the husband of this friend again, and then we started mating, and the eggs came out, the hatching went well, and many babies were born. So, as the number of individuals increased gradually, we started selling them, and through selling, we made some money. Then, we wanted to bring another one if we had a reasonable amount of money, creating this endless loop. Yes, it was about 4 years. After that, a reptile shop, a beardie farm, was born. Until then, we kept selling and oh, I wanted to raise this one, brought this one, and oh, bred the babies and sold them, then brought another one.

Continuing to roll like this, yes, that's right. No, when I first went there, now I remember again, oh, there were various kinds of paper, and I remember that there was also a Black Knight that I really wanted, and Ricky, a very good-sized one, and there was also a Chahwa, right? Yes, there was Chahwa. I remember Chahwa too, and there is also an episode about Chahwa's nose. Um, what was it? Now, Andene, yes, she was my girlfriend at the time. My girlfriend really wanted to raise a dog, but she felt burdened by taking care of it alone. So, I like lizards, so I asked her if she wanted to go play with reptiles. That's how we got into Chahwa's nose. So, I was worried, but then I thought, It's not that difficult to raise them. I'll help you. I'm already raising one. So, now my wife has one, and I have one, but I can't tell them apart.

I raised them one by one in a healthy state, even gave them names. Now that I'm an adult, I have Jang Baek-ji and Lee Yeon-gol. I've learned a lot from Hong Kong movies. Since I'm quite old, I admire those actors. I hope they become male and female. But they switched genders. Jang Baek-ji became male, and Lee Yeon-gol became female. In the middle, their genders don't match. What should I do? Should I change them? No, where can I find such a thing? I raised them with care. Even if this one is a female, they are still a good match. So, I find it interesting. After a year and a half of dating, Cha and Gae-ko also got married. Oh, wow. So, they got married, and breeding of Cha and Gae-ko started. Yes, that's right. And then, their offspring were born, and many were adopted. Even though I now have Jang Baek-ji, breeding is not easy. It's more delicate than I thought. Those friends are quite sensitive.

Sensitive, but in the first season, Cha's geco breeding was too easy. I thought it was too easy because I was only raising one pair, but at that time, eight babies were born. I thought it was too easy. But there's a rumor going around that there's a breeder who raises Cha's geco without any difficulty, and three babies were born. It's very difficult in that season. Breeding Cha's geco is quite difficult. But I think I was very lucky. When Cha's geco lays eggs, it consumes a lot of energy. The eggshell is thick, so the gap between the eggs is too large compared to the body size. The body of the Cha's geco is much smaller than that, so there are a lot of gaps in this regard. After sufficient incubation, breeding should take place. If the period is not sufficient, they will really die.

It could be dangerous, and the risk of being homeless is also increasing. So, since I have been raising children for a long time, I started my first breeding when they were almost 2 years and 6 months old. The children grew a lot in size. I asked a lot of questions when I went abroad, and they kindly provided a lot of information. Based on that, I did the breeding, and when I applied the data, it matched quite well. So, those who DM me, I tell them everything, and by doing this, it still helps with breeding. Therefore, I am still hatching. It's not easy every year. It's a bit difficult. Leopard geckos and fat-tailed geckos are different. The difficulty level of feeding pettail geckos is much higher. So, this is how it is. Up to the cre shop.

Rather than a pet shop, when reptile owners come to the reptile shop, they must have had a lot of concerns. I used to have another job, hardly had any days off, and in fact, it's very difficult to even think about traveling far away. Dealing with these living creatures, to be honest, I don't even have time for a break. The more time I invest, the better the management becomes, and this is such a natural result. When you run a medical store, you just need to buy things, store them in the warehouse, hang clothes until they are sold. But with living creatures, you really have to manage them well until they are sold. If you neglect them, their condition deteriorates from that point on, and it's natural that it's not good. It's so obvious, right? That's why, even though I raise living creatures, I have never left the shop comfortably until now. I don't even have a day off.

However, I do go to work. Oh, I just take a break, but I always go out and manage, report once, and leave work. I barely have a day off, maybe once a year, almost inevitably, due to unavoidable circumstances, or if I'm sick, not because I've overworked my body. Going to the shop is almost like that. I love it so much that it seems unavoidable. Yes, that's right. So, because I love it, I can endure it, so I can bear it. Originally, it was just a hobby, but now that my hobby has become my job, there are difficulties. Since I can't enjoy it in order, naturally, I ended up doing business, and naturally, I have to operate it stably. So, I have a lot of stress. There is mental stress and physical stress, but still, because I love what I do, I can bear it to some extent. My perception has improved a lot, and I have risen a lot in search rankings. It feels like I am somewhat elevated above the ground. When I first started, it was more like that.

A smaller market than now, but reptiles are still unfamiliar. It may feel strange, but now it's growing. There may be pain and various things there. Even now, there is a lot of work to be done chicly, so with the thought of developing it better, I run the shop. So, I put more effort into it, try to improve the perception, and work hard on cleaning. When you visit the reptile shop, it should be a pleasant time, so I think of it as a place of healing. So, when I manage my children, I find it really fun to meet and talk with a few close friends. As I get older, I feel like my energy is decreasing, and it seems a bit limited. I feel like I can't do everything anymore. I realize this when I take the college entrance exam. It seems there was an energy drain. I can't do various things anymore. Everyone does everything, so my energy...

I'm 100 years old, but since I can only divide by 100, my time is quite limited. It would be nice to meet more people, but such time seems to be subtly lacking. When taking care of these kids, time doesn't seem to pass easily. Surprisingly, the most difficult thing is managing time, so time doesn't seem to pass as easily as I thought. That's why I tend to meet only acquaintances within that limited time. While chatting with them, I ended up creating a soccer team. I want to communicate more diversely, so I want to make it more diverse. So, let's create a club like a community to try something new. Due to my pure nature as a human being, I sometimes act based on emotions. Sometimes you have to exclude those parts, and it's a dilemma. It's not easy. Things are getting too thick now, and it's too strong about quietly enduring that for decades. So, even though I am quite free in appearance, I still have to live hard every day. In the little spare time, I play the guitar, sing a song, play soccer, and in the rest of the time, I immerse myself in work and just think about work. Actually, even if I go to the direct acceptance farm shop, there are not only cremes. I know there are many other species as well, but honestly, I'm just curious. I wonder to what extent other species are sold, or if there are any individuals going out besides cremes. I was curious about which ones go out besides cremes - Gaegol, Gaeko, Chao, Gaeko, Rikes.

Leopard geckos, hog-nosed snakes, kingsnakes, and many more are available. These animals are not my main focus, so the proportion is lower compared to other shops, but they all get sold. Crested geckos make up about 80% of the store, while the remaining 20% consists of other animals. In terms of individual species, there is a wide variety, but the number of individuals is low, so all of them are sold smoothly. Even though it's 20%, you actually seem to have more variety than others. When I visited, there was a wide variety of species to see, and many things to explore. If you come to the test farm, besides the crabs, other animals occupy about 65% of the shop's area. Crested geckos are less common. In other large species breeding farms, there are many enclosures over 2m, so if you raise one there, one side of the wall itself is inhabited by a monitor lizard.

Lizards live in a much larger area than children. There are many crested geckos. I really like it. I wish my pet could live in a good facility. When I moved, the space became bigger, so I can take care of animals that I couldn't raise before. It's so nice to be able to do that. In the case of chameleons, you can raise them in a limited breeding ground, provide plenty of water for swimming. I feel good raising them in such a breeding ground. I really wanted to raise this species, chameleons. If I have a shop, I thought I should raise this species. For other animals, I want to set up the largest possible space. I want to set it up and give it the best facility feeling. How big is the shop now? It is currently 30 square meters.

In the past, it was flat, now it's 30 pyeong. When you visit Namyangju Suhm Nongjang Shop, it may feel a bit remote. However, the parking space is quite spacious, and once you go, there are various kinds of paper, so it's actually fun. There is fun in seeing it this way. In fact, I'm in an environment where I can't raise a monitor, but although I can't raise a monitor instead, I can get closer to animals more than a zoo, feed them, and have fun visiting. It's so natural that as culture changes, even reptiles are thought of in that way. Handling such materials continuously, I thought that way, and I believe many people did too. But nowadays, children easily approach them. Reptiles and then more and more, so after 10 or 20 years, even turtles just become my friends, snakes too, just settling in like this.
