hello everyone. It's Saturday, January 23rd, 2021, and it is literally freezing right now, 32 Fahrenheit, zero on the centigrade scale. The time's around 3:30 p.m., and I am in the Bronx neighborhood of Throgs Neck on this chilly, chilly day. I just got off the Q44 bus in the Bronx, the first bus stop in the Bronx over the rocks, White Stone Bridge. Haven't really been to this neighborhood too much, but let's go south and check out what this area is all about. This looks like to be a large shopping center. There's a Target here, as well as a Starbucks coffee and the T-Mobile store. Jason Boyle, he did a show with James and Carla last night. Awesome. Everyone's tuning in now. My gosh, it is freezing and cold. What's the shopping center have to offer? This is a busy shopping center. I did not know this was here. Whoa. Probably because every time I come here to the Bronx on the bus, I

bypass it. I was like, what could be on the first stop in the Bronx, right? But boy, was I wrong. There's a big shopping center here. Let me actually get warmed up because I don't want to stand out here in the cold. Looks like this is a little bit crooked too. I could fix it. All right, my Z is saying I hope I brought hot packs. I have one, but I didn't use it. I have heated gloves right now. I do need to fix this camera though because it looks like it's not set properly. Hopefully, I can fix it. It's hard to set everything in the cold. I was sort of able to set it on the bus, but I just had to like scramble for warm temperatures to set this right. Is this straight now? Yeah, I think it's pretty much straight. All right, I think I'm good now. So, all right, good to be able to warm up. I also have a hat in my backpack. Let me print that out. It's so cold today. You gotta dress down.

and I mean dressed up, not dressed down. Well, I didn't want that to happen. So hard to juggle different equipment and clothing when it's so cold like this. It makes live streaming that much harder. Alright, so I got everything. I got everything except my camera stabilizer. Now I gotta set this again. I saved the camera from falling down. [Music] There. But it was one of my viewers who met up with me when I was doing the live stream in New Jersey in the Cliffside Park neighborhood. BJP said it focused that time. a liquor store. There's a lot of stuff here. Wow, five guys, chipotle, popeyes chicken. I'm gonna head towards the tip of Throgs Neck at Ferry Point Park. I'll check out the Bronx Whitestone Bridge as well. DW with two dollars Canadian or two loonies from Chile, Toronto. Stay warm, kid. If it's cold here, I'm sure it's colder in Toronto. I've even got heated gloves on right now and it feels cold. I've got long underwear on and I've got heated gloves. GRE 68, all the necks are there. Yep, so many necks: Throgs Neck, Little Neck, Great Neck. There's another neck. I don't know if there's gonna be a mistake walking by the waterfronts on this cold, cold day. I don't know. Can I even exit this way? No, I can't. This is the highway. Why am I going this way? No way, it's a street. I can go here. This is strange. This balloon is having trouble staying up because of all the wind.

I knew I was able to exit here. I saw the staircase. Here's the Hutchinson Hutchinson River Parkway. Hutchinson River Parkway, I should say, not Hutchinson River Park. I don't think there's a Hutchinson River Park. This is the Hutchinson River Parkway and Winter Place, and I'm going straight towards Ferry Point Park. You can see there's an exit here on the highway, last exit before the toll, because if you miss this exit, you're going over the Bronx Whitestone Bridge into Queens. I don't know how this park is, but they look pretty nice from the bus. Oh my gosh, why is there so much litter here? There's like gloves and papers and paper cups everywhere. Mass, they really need to clean that up. Also, it doesn't help too because this is a windy day. I'm sure all the wind right now picked up from the waters and the rivers and just blew everything over here. Looks like there's a bunch of machinery here that are used for like

I guess painting and things that need a lot of elevation. This is Sanger Place and the Hutchinson River Parkway. You know, for the first stop in the Bronx on the bus, you would think it'll be much closer to the waterfront, but I gotta walk a while back just to get to the water. I have never been in this part of the Bronx before. Not that this walk over here is too interesting because you got the highway right next to me, and I just focused the camera on the sky. It looked a little bit white before. This hat is definitely keeping me warm. Ralph's saying I'm far off. Stay warm. Yeah, I'm very surprised that first stop in the Bronx is that far away from the park. J Way say, Am I going south? I am. And Google Car, I'm saying, Why am I going this way? It's not interesting, only because it's one of the few ways to get to this park, to Ferry Point Park. But I'm sure the views are going to be

worth it because that bridge and the Long Island Sound are splendid, but it's going to take a while to get there. So, if you're coming to this part of the Bronx, just be informed that the first stop on the Q44 bus is very far away from this park. You're still gonna need like another mode of transportation if you want to get down here, unless you want to walk this entire way like me. And it's not even that comfortable because it's so cold right now. I'm one of the few people who are like crazy enough to do this right now, and there's more litter over here too, plastic bags. There's a, I don't know what that is, that's like plastic from a paper towel roll or something. But the wind and the fences are definitely not helping with the buildup of trash in this area. You know, it's also interesting too, they have signs here for a bicycle path or a greenway. I think this is a Pepsi Cola facility to the right of me. You can see all these

pepsi trucks. That's a lot of soda. Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of New York. By the way, I learned that Pepsico, which is the parent company, and the Pepsi Bottling Company are two different companies. One thing's for sure, though. I don't see any Pepsi cans next to the Pepsi Bottling Company. I see a McDonald's Happy Meal box. Oh, there's an Aquafina over there. I think Aquafina's owned by Pepsi. There's UPS. Elst players saying thanks to my walk across the Washington Bridge. You drive there all the time. You never knew that was the name. It's a name that's been forgotten with time because the George Washington Bridge, its older cousin, took all the spotlight. Oh gosh, the wind's just blowing on my back now. all right. How do I get to this ferry point park now? I don't think I want to continue straight because there's no more sidewalk there. And look, that looks like the exit ramp for this highway. Oh, here it is. It's across the street. All right. This driver is waiting for me. Here I am, ferry point park. I don't know why it's called ferry point park, but just assuming from the name, there probably used to be a ferry here. Let's read up on the history. Well, the land that it's built on is from 1642. The park was named for the ferries that traveled between the Bronx and Queens, from Westchester Village to Whitestone, and from Classen Point to College Point. At least two operators, Twin City Ferry and City of New York, administered ferries. Very interesting here. All right, so we are in ferry point park. That was way before the time that New York City even existed during the 1600s. Well, they got a large soccer field over

here peach sangria. You've never been here. I'm sure many New Yorkers haven't been here, especially if they don't live in the Bronx. I haven't been here, certainly. H3N2 asking if it's a landfill. I wouldn't be surprised if it is because there's a lot of areas in the Bronx that were former landfills, such as Classen Point Park, parts of Sound View. Here's the Schlay Avenue field, very nice soccer field. It's an artificial surface too, but it's very nice. I wonder how close I can get to the water. Jennifer Swaffer, thank you so much for 4.99. pocket really depends on the setting, but I usually keep it on the default mode, which is FPV. That mode follows wherever the camera's facing. There's a good amount of space in this park. I like pandas because they're unique, they're a very exotic type of bear, and I always found it interesting how the only thing they eat is bamboo, but they're not too particularly good at processing bamboo. I think like 30 percent of the nutrients that they absorb are from the bamboo, the other 70 are wasted. This is a nice park, I have to say. I mean, I wish it was a lot warmer, but at least, at least there's not too many people around right now, and at least there's no mosquitoes I have to worry about. The last few times I

went to like former landfills or parks and lebrons. I got attacked by mosquitoes, but on a day like today where it's like freezing, I don't have to worry about that at all. I didn't realize that this park was so huge. Probably by the time I get out of here, it will already be like an hour into this livestream. Belly Cosmetique, what's the name of this park? It's the Ferry Point Park in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx. Ruby's saying it's a hidden gem. Oh, definitely. Look at this, there's so much space in this park, it's unbelievable. And um, I think it's maintained pretty good. And I'm still walking south, still walking south. I'm still not to the water yet. Here's the Ferry Point West Fields. Devotees saying no one lives around there, you have to drive to get here. I can see why. I mean, there's also a parking lot over there, municipal parking lot. During the summer, I can see I don't know what's the best way to get here by public transportation, though, is because I thought the first stop on the bus over the bridge was close enough, but it was still a walk from there, and it wasn't really through a nice area. It was right on the side of the highway. Chris, the first thing, go under the bridge to the left to go to the golf course. Yeah, I see it over there. That's the Trump Link Golf Course, I think. And this is a looks like a baseball field. Steve's saying there's a large glacial rock in the west part of the park. Really cool. Bella asking if this is wheelchair accessible. Um, I don't really see anywhere where you would need to go up or down stairs or anything. It looks pretty flat to me, so I think it's wheelchair accessible, but just double-check to make sure. Oh, this is why many people who live in New York, they get away from New York during these winter months, and they go south, or they start traveling places because they can't handle this cold. Looks like I'm not the only one in this park, folks. Those are dog prints, some kind of animal prints, right? Okay, I'm gonna try walking that way again. Hopefully, I don't lose service. Only because I don't want to walk back the same way I came in. But if I start losing service, then that's what I'll have to do. No, they're going the other way with the drone. So, so I don't know what facility this is. I think it has something to do with the bridge, MTA, uh, bridges, I think. And they also got the MTA police over there. I do have to say though, for this park, it's not very scenic if you have to come back out the same way. If there was another route to go out there, and it'll be a little bit more interesting, but because there's one road, one road in, one road out, it makes it less appealing to come here. I'd rather take a bicycle here or an

e-scooter. You don't want to be walking here, especially on a cold day like today. Laura is asking where this park is in relation to Pelham Bay Park. I think Pelham Bay Park is maybe like 10-15 minutes away by car if you take the highway, but if you take local streets, I think it will take a lot longer. You can see long shadows now. Joe is saying it's a minus 30 up there in Canada. That is incredible. You don't want to be outside too long in that kind of cold weather. [Music] So what I'm going to do now is I'm not going to try to walk on the side of the highway as I did before getting in here, but there's another road there that goes over to the left. I'm gonna head that side to that side, like, yeah, all right, I'm headed this way. Wow, look at that sunset. Ain't that pretty, huh, with the skyline right behind it? You know, if I didn't come here on this day, the sun won't set.

In this exact position, the sun will set somewhere else, but right now in the Bronx, it's setting right in the middle of Manhattan. That is cool. That is so cool. So remember that, folks. Mid to late January, you come here to Ferry Point Park. If you can brave the cold, the sun sets right behind the Manhattan skyline. But I shouldn't be too far away because the first stop on the bus is still far away from where I need to go anyway. So, that park is what I would call a hidden gem in New York City. I've watched a few of his live streams. They're very good. The only issue is Mexico City. Oh, here's UPS customer center. Hey, if I would have known, I would have come here UPS then. I didn't have to go all out of my way to the UPS store in Flushing, Queens. This is more UPS trucks than I've ever seen in one area my entire life. So, speaking of which, I wonder if UPS delivered my package today. Am I expecting one that I need to check out later? Anyone want a mini fridge? I think this mini fridge is kind of useless right now, just judging how cold it is outside. You don't need a fridge in these temperatures. This is a pretty decent-sized parking lot for this Target store, and there's some more additional parking over here, I think, or is this from the same parking lot?

you know, I'm not sure, but I don't remember seeing a grocery store inside the shopping center unless the Target has groceries. They're very well made. I think it does. It looks like a pretty big Target. I see food items already by the checkout counter. Jaden is saying there isn't a grocery store in that mall except for Target. [Music] Now, let's see where this bus is because the bus stop was over here in the first stop in the Bronx coming from Queens, but I don't know going to Queens where that bus stop is. I may have to cross over to the other side. Sometimes these bus stops are hard to figure out because you see the route on the bus map. It says it's at one corner, and then you have to find it. It's like halfway down the block or on a different street. Jaden said I have to cross over. Yeah, that's what I figured.

and then what sucks is when the city they move the bus stops because of construction or they close it. [Music] There's Target, the same Target I started off at to warm up and get ready.
