Hello everyone, welcome to Times Square. It's Tuesday, April 20th, 2021. It's around one o'clock in the afternoon, and the temperature is a warm 72 Fahrenheit, 22 Celsius. Just looking around Times Square before I hop onto my electric scooter and ride down to Union Square via Broadway. But really nice day out today, we get to see a lot of people out and about. Here's my scooter, the Segway 9 Bot Max, which I'll be riding down to Union Square. So let's get started. I'm going to change it to the economy mode, which goes a max speed of 8 miles an hour. It also has two more modes, the drive mode, which is 15 miles an hour max, and sport mode, which is 18 miles an hour max. There's the Naked Cowboy, always a hit in Times Square. Naked Cowboy, what's up? Yeah, I'm going down to Union Square. Check this out, right? Okay, I'm a dancer, got it. Check it out, man. Take it easy.

All right, so we got a lot of activity here in Times Square. Dancers, Disney stores, popular. We have the monks out here now. It's such a gorgeous day. It's been like the warmest day in a while. Today seems like the tourists are coming back to Times Square slowly but surely. Well, this is going to be interesting. Got someone here walking in the lane here. There really wasn't enough room for me to pass that person comfortably, so I just hopped off into the lane next to me and went around him. 42nd Street, 7th Avenue. I'm making a right turn here on Broadway at 42nd Street. I could easily go faster on this scooter, but I want people here to take in the sights and sounds of the city. You can see people just bringing out their spring fashion right now: short sleeve t-shirts, flowy dresses, light jackets. No need for that heavy, bulky winter wear anymore, at least not for a while. It is a weekday right now, so many people will be working. I don't think most of the city has

returned to work in the physical offices, yet many of them are still working at home. Here we have the Radford pear flowering trees. It's one of the most common species of flowering trees planted in New York. Also, the pedestrian plaza here to my left with some big planters for daffodils. That's a nice outdoor seating area to my right for the Taco Dumbo restaurant, or Taco Jumbo. I couldn't really make out the font there. Uh [Music]. Yeah, we've got Shake Shack. I would think Shake Shack will be very busy right now. Yep, there's a line outside for Shake Shack and around the corner. Personally, I wouldn't be waiting on that line right now. We're approaching Harold Square and Greeley Square, the intersection of Broadway between 35th and 34th streets. Now actually all the way down to 32nd. Here's the Macy's headquarters building. Lively around here too. Here's 34th Street. Empire State Building is to my left, right on 5th Avenue.

there's just so many people out walking around. Also, right now, the tulips are in full bloom. I think the tulips only last for maybe three weeks at the most before they start really losing their splendor. Foreign. It's 33rd Street. Between 33rd and 32nd Street is Greely Square, named after Horace Greeley. All right, so we just made a left on 32nd, gonna make a right down Broadway. [Music] Straight ahead to me is Koreatown. Koreatown, even though it's a small area, there's a lot of dense restaurants and clubs all within that one strip there between Fifth Ave and Broadway. Here, I like to call Hotel Alley because there's a lot of construction going on here. It's a lot of pigeons. [Music] This area is getting more and more grand every day. Looks like they're doing some work on this store to my left, Manhattan Perfumes. There's a sign here. It says, Welcome to Nomad Pizza. No, no mad piazza. I read that wrong.

no man standing for the neighborhood north of Madison Square Park. We can make out the Flatiron Building up ahead at 23rd Street. That's considered to be the first major skyscraper in New York City. It was built in the early 1900s, I believe. [Music] And it's known for its shape. [Music] Bianca, this place is busy. A lot of people out here dining for sure. Here we got Madison Square Park, which is blooming right now. Very beautiful Flatiron District looking very lively as well. Go ahead, wow, look at this tree. That's the double flowering cherry blossom. It's that one looks like it's in full bloom right now. The Kanzan or the Kwanzaan cherry blossom creek. And it looks like I'm going to need to change up my route because I definitely do not want to ride over there. All the roads are torn up there, so I'll head south on 5th Avenue instead. That will be much better. I can still get

to Union Square going this way or just be a little bit more of a detour. Other ride on smooth roads and torn-up ones, but it's also good to know that the city is keeping up with the infrastructure. The roads here in New York are not known to be very smooth all the time. There's just so many trucks, buses, cold weather, warm weather. It really tears up the roads, not to mention the underground utilities too. That person looked completely clueless where she was. Looks like they're doing construction in the bike lane up ahead, but at least there is a temporary lane provided for me. I like what Banana Republic did to their storefront. All the flowers in front makes it very inviting and attractive. And we've got 17 streets, and I need to make a left over here to get to Union Square. [Music] 16th. I'm sure Union Square is going to be absolutely gorgeous as well. Um, here another cherry blossom tree. I think it might be better for me to walk for a little bit. Okay, let's get back on the scooter. Great.

to see everybody here relaxing, enjoying their meals, having a good time. Looks like Union Square has plenty of cherry blossoms blooming right now. Also, something happening here. Union Square is also a very popular place for groups to organize protests, get together, things of that nature. Let's see what's up over here. It says joints for jars or joints for jabs NYC.
