this is the world's first tri-folding phone that you can actually buy in stores, at least in China. It's called the Mate XT Ultimate Design. It's made by Huawei, and it sells in China for the equivalent of $2,800. I came to a Huawei store in Shenzhen, China, to check it out. Now, when you look at the Mate XT from the front, it looks just like a standard smartphone, and the same can be said about the back. But when you turn it on its side or look at it from above, that's when you're met with what makes this phone so special. Those three layers folded in which open up into an impossibly slim 10.2-inch display—a remarkable feat of engineering, if you ask me. This screen measures just 3.6 mm thick, or about the same as four or five SIM cards stacked on top of each other. Of course, that skinniness is basically a design requirement since the phone gets chunky when you fold it close. Those three layers take the thickness to 12.88 mm, but the phone didn't feel as

heavy as I expected, considering its design, with a weight of 98 g. The hinges felt sturdy, but we'll have to see how those hinges hold up to repeated folding. I also have some concerns, like battery life, even though it has a large 5600 mAh battery, since it has to power a 10.2 in screen.
