[Applause] Welcome to the Gold Coast. So, this is like Australia's playground, but I also feel it is super popular for Kiwis like us. But when you think about the Gold Coast, you might think about Surfers Paradise like Movie World, Dreamworld, Wet n Wild. But we're told that there are so many other epic suburbs here. There's like incredible foodie scenes. There's like the hinterland to explore, unique things to do, other dreamy white sand beaches, and just laid-back vibes all around. This is my sea of spot. So, Jetstar has invited us here for 3 days with a bunch of other Kiwi content creators. And by the end of this video, we're just trying to answer one question. And that is just how special is the Gold Coast beyond Surfers Paradise. So let's go. Let's go. We're already [Music] going from Auckland. So we've literally just stepped off the plane, and within a few minutes, we're already right by the beach. We're in Coolangatta. It's good vibes. Everyone's throwing up shers like it's just amazing. So we come to Cool Bike Hire, and we're going to just be cruising along the beachfront on a big selection of bikes. Actually, that guy is pretty sick. Then you've got the Fat Boys 'cause they've got the wide, wide leg. You've got the old, old stand-up option. What do you reckon, Com? Oh, you're sitting too? I can sit and stand comfortable. I'm going.

to do a stand-up one here then you got the normal, the normal bikes as well. Woo, it's got some SP on it, look at it. Well, if you're not sure what to expect from the Gold Coast, this pretty much sums it up. Blue skies, white sand, mint beaches, surfing. The coast runs just right the way along from Co and G all the way down into Surfers. You can probably just see in the distance there. This is something we love about the Gold Coast. There's these paths right along the beachfront, and everyone's out. They're being healthy, they're exercising. Well, you are, I am, so funny that I've gone for the laziest possible option. So I'm going to make it. I feel like I've done some exercise, but now we're going to go for some food and be unhealthy to balance that out, right? So we've come to Paddock Bakery for lunch. This is an old Queenslander house that was actually relocated in the '70s. We're walking around. I think what's called The Loft so.

these are like different areas actually. I don't know if I'm going the right way, but this place is well known for its dippy eggs. Oh yeah, and look, we got little bacon bits. Look how many soldiers you get as well. It's creme brulee donuts and it's Wood Fired Bagels. So lots of amazing. Good review um n out of 10 o out of 10 10 out of 10 10 out of 10 10 out of 10 dead out of are we all 10 10 out of 10 okay ooh illegal actually illegal cut. All right, so this is home for the next few nights. It's in Broad Bach at a place called The Dorset. It's a four-star hotel, and apparently it's really nice. It's nice. Smells incredible. That is a beautiful room. Oh yes, look how modern and elegant. I love it, but check this out. It's so heavy. Here we go, here we go. Please be the pool. Oh, that is crazy. That's the beach right.

there, that's like less than 500 m away. You can just get straight through from the street here straight to the beach. Guess what else is close to Pacific Fair shopping mall, and it is epic. We haven't been there in a few years, but literally every shop you could ever want to go to is there, and that's what we're going to do. I don't know if that's going in the Vlog, but we're going to [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]. Go, how about this? Oh, what a scene. We've come to a place called Tart Beach House. It's um, it's right on the Easter here, and this place is known for its kind of like International influences 'cause apparently the owners did a lot of traveling. So we've got like a Paris meets the Hampton's Vibe. I think some of the food as well is like from different places all around the world. What a setting as well. E I thought I saw this.

yesterday cuz there's one in Burley as well obviously. Where we were driving, but this one's like, oh, it's right here, like on the sand. That's awesome, such a good location. A little, I take it, it's good. Don't make her talk now. 20 out of 10. You're breaking all the rules every time. Got some root chenai, that's Malaysian. We got the Mexican burrito. What else did I see here? We got some New Zealand smoked salmon. We've got some Asian peanuts. What else? We got some classic Aussie dishes. That lobster roll, so there's a mixture here for sure. I actually can't believe how good this looks. Here's a question for those of you that have been to the Gold Coast. You would have driven straight over the Bridge, especially if you're making the mistake of only going to Surfers. That is the T Creek, that's an incredible watering hole in there that you can take us swim in. You can do some, um, some paddle boarding out there. We're what we're dropped to now was right next door.

to that. So, this is the Burleigh Heads National Park. There's a couple of walks that you can do throughout the park itself, but we're doing a tour. Everyone, welcome to Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Center. So, what's going to be happening today is that I'll be taking everyone here. I just want to walk around the B Headland, stopping off at cultural sites. I'll be explaining the significance of those areas, how long they've been there for, how they were utilized by Aboriginal people of course, a very long time ago. So, you should know that all Aboriginal artwork has stories to them. They are all through paintings. So, every single Aboriginal artwork you do come across, 100%, it does have a story behind it. Full thing, full body. I heard, take the shirt off, let's go, there we are all good. [Music] on a bad spot, oh, I just tripped, good trip. I love tours like this 'cause you get to see new places, different scenery, but you also get to learn about stuff that you would just sort of walk

straight past and not know anything about. I totally agree learning about all of the different like properties for the different skin care and like why they used used it for hunting and bit of bush Tucker bit of bush Tucker like it's nice to um to learn something new and take in things that you would just go oh that's cool going yeah you feel like you're a bit more connected to the experience as well when you when you know a little bit more exactly yeah no I'm digging it I mean it helps as well that it's I mean look at this on your doorstep yeah it's a [Music] stunner it's a few hours later we've been doing a little bit of relaxing give us a break that wasn't I promise that was actually not a very big walk at all but we're back right where we just were so it kind of makes sense so just behind us here that is the Bley head National Park we finished off around the Walk we're overlooking Bley Beach which is just next to us here and where we're

going tonight is behind us there that was really complicated but it's it's it's a anyway we're at Bly Pavilion for Golden hour. This is like the place to be for Sunset drinks. You can get food, you can sit outside and watch The Sur watch the world go by. It's like the interior is beautiful, it's all whites and blues and Coastal modern kind of. I was going to say Vibes. I said Vibes like 14,000 times. That is very much sorry everyone. Yeah, 100% Vibe counter h no but this seems like it is the place to be and Bly and so that's the place where we are why we [Music] here crazy good start to the morning today. There's something about the Gold Coast that just makes me want to be so much healthier and fitter and get out. Everyone is just like 700 a.m. and you're out. Everyone's already they look like they've run 10K already and they're in the beach doing their like Post Run.

swim. It's just motivating to get up early and just kind of get involved with it. So we were straight in there, getting into the water, having a swim. And our next stop is where you might be able to have a swim as well. And I'm not actually talking about that. I'm talking about this. Check this out. This is the Gold Coast Wake Park. And there's a mad setup here. There's all sorts of little spots you can sit down. There's a restaurant and all kind of stuff back there that you can show. There's music playing and oh, someone's just falling off. There's two different cables. So you can see there's a couple of jumps there. There's a few jumps there. If you're advanced, you can go on the faster cable that takes you over those jumps. If you're a little bit slower, you can kind of just go on like a beginner track so you can learn without having to piss around with a boat coming to pick you up. But everybody that we've seen so far

here we go. Yes, everyone that we've seen so far is so happy and smiley, just loving life. Oh yeah, and typically, this is the kind of thing that I would be straight in there doing, but as you probably know, I still have a spine, some discs that are 1.2 CM away from where they should be. So, given my back situation, I won't be doing it, but I'm going to get some good footage of other people anyway. Someone's got to go, come on, one of you, one of you. Oh, oh no. So, we are officially in the hinterland. It is crazy, the difference from the coast, the scenery changes, change, and like just the slower pace of life, and it's green everywhere, and we haven't even driven that far. It's like 30 minutes. Um, we are on the gallery walk. Listen, I don't know if I'm in Tambourine or Tambourine Mountain, but I'm somewhere in the hinterland, and this little street is so cute. There's like homemade fudge.

we were told about like this Brewery that makes own beer there's a Distillery there is a cheese place there's all sorts of stuff it's really cool yeah she's definitely an Eclectic place but there's a lot of Home wears and lifestyle stuff too but just um uh odd in ways I would say cool odd let's put it that way cool odd you have some fudge or you got other plans no we like to drink our calories around here so we got a a pale ale to share just one cuz we're not crazy all right we're properly in the rainforest now this is Cedar Creek lodges where we're going to be staying and it is absolutely massive we'll talk a little bit more soon but this is over 100 hectares worth of um basically rainforest out here um there's a few different types of rooms which is interesting nice place is cute feels like we're in a tropical Paradise somewhere in the middle of nowhere and the thing that is very cool about this because of the size of the property and

just I think all around Mount Tambourine there are so many different creeks and places that you can swim. What kind of rooms have we got? Okay, so you're going to be staying at a glamping T, which is like a luxury T. So there's a private jacuzzi on the deck. And then we've got Vista Suites, which has its own balcony and an outdoor rain shower. And then you've got a two-bedroom Creek Lodge Spa rooms, which also have private decks with balconies and spas on them. And then we've got a three-bedroom forest lodge as well. Okay. And also to add to this in terms of the scale, it's also part of the Thunderbird Park. There is Mini golf, there's a treetop challenge, there's laser tag, there's mines, there's digs, there's zip lining, there's so much going on. All right. So we've all been sent off in a bunch of different directions. We've all got different room types, but we have something called the Vista, which has its own balcony overlooking the creek.

creek just down there. And then inside, it's like a sweet that's beautiful, eh. Yeah, really nice. Like kind of country decor small modern. It's cozy. It's fresh. Apparently, a local artist designed a lot of the sort of like pillows and furnishings and stuff um to reflect the rainforest. But there's a bit that we haven't seen yet. We were waiting W for you. I have peed into the bathroom, but it's about the yeah like a barn kind of style. But it's the um outdoor shower. Outdoor shower. But you walk through a modern beautiful tiled luxury inside. Look at this. Is it big enough for us to W fit? Can everyone come look at the [Music] rain? Love these things. I was like, oh, that's an awesome fire pit. What a great spot. Look at the sitting and and then L said, that's not that's not a fire actually. We call that the yarning circle. This is my count of spot around the rainforest. Sun's out jumping off rocks hunting through Rock pools feel like uh. I mean most kids.

would probably go for the Dig It Center, or whatever that is, but for me, this is like, this is still time, this is my playground. Uh, got a visitor. Hi, this is the coolest couple in New Zealand. You were couple's goals. Oh, really? Podcast tripl go correct. Anyway, back to it. So we had an amazing sleep last night. I mean, you can probably hear the sounds, but it's not just the nature. It's the like the running creek while also sleeping in luxury that makes it quite a nice combo that I think I had my best night sleep on the entire trip. Yeah, me too. Um, but we also had a really nice dinner as well at Rainforest restaurant. The steak game-changing. Um, I mean, as you can tell, like we've got a really good crew. Yes. And actually, the cool thing about that restaurant is that 1% of the bill actually goes back into restoring the local area, which is really cool. Um, but today we're doing one of the coolest things in the entire hland area, and that is the Skywalk. Woohoo. 1.5 km of

amazing basically. Bridges suspended above the rainforest on, I think it's like 30 hectares of private W. But here's the thing. We just got a little bit of a briefing about kind of what this place is all about. You got trees right here. Not a single tree was hared in the making. Isn't that insane? How they get all the big machinery in here to like create this. It is seriously impressive. So you can, he said you can kind of go around in like 40-45 minutes, but it depends on, um, how into trees you are, I guess, how much you love thead, how much you love the rainforest. You could take your time. There's even a, uh, sneaky caner Leever Bridge here, up elevated over the rest of the bridges, looking out over the [Music] canopy. I'm excited for this one. Oh yeah, excited for. Apparently, there are St berard's dogs here. This is the St Bernard's Hotel, uh, oldest and most iconic Hotel Hub in, uh, all of tambourine mate, all tambourine.

and it's got views out across the valley and stuff all out the back as well. But this is what we've been looking to fight so that one's not real. Oh my God, they're so big. She just had a bar. She out a bar. Oh, sorry, baby. Yeah, you look at that. What a [Music] spot. It's been awesome to see a completely different side from, you know, there are heaps of amazing white sand beaches, stunning. It's way better, magical. Not just Surfers, there's the whole Greenery, the hinterland, and then also the national parks, wild and beautiful, the lamping forest, and then of course the food. Genuinely had some of the most amazing food on this trip. I mean, we've and we've been trying to be good because we're about to get married, and we've still been struggling. Like, I find myself like trying to cut my own arm off because I'm
