today we are going to dive into brisk boost, brisk's new tool for students and teachers. With Boost, teachers can take any resource on the internet, whether that's an article, a website, a YouTube video, a slide deck, wherever you are. You can take that resource and boost it to students and turn it into an interactive, AI-powered, safe learning experience for them to dive more deeply into the material and test their knowledge. So, in this example, we're going to start on a slide deck about ratios and proportions, and we are going to turn this into that interactive boosted activity. From here, I have the brisk Chrome extension open, and I'm going to select boost Student Activity. And now I am building an activity around that boosted resource. So, the first step is to set the academic context. From here, I can choose what language I'd like my activity to be in. There are over 30 languages to choose from, and you do not need to select the language of the existing resource that you're boosting. You should also select the grade level of your students, and if you choose you

can set some academic standards. We have a variety of standards across various countries and states and frameworks to choose from. Next, you're going to choose the type of activity you would like to send to boost to your students. So, there's a variety of options between engaging activities like a tutor debate partner, a brainstorm buddy. You can choose to assess their knowledge in a pulse check or an exit ticket around the material. And we have a couple of additional activities coming soon. Today, we're going to assess our students' knowledge and build an exit ticket example. So, I'll move forward, and next, brisk boost is going to start to populate in automatically some learning objectives and the role of brisk boost with your students. Now, at brisk, we always like to give the teacher full and ultimate control on everything that they're building with brisk. And so, all of these are entirely editable and owned by you. We are simply giving you a head start here. You're able to delete any of the learning objectives. You can add learning objectives, and that is going to inform the ultimate brisk boost activity.

experience for students. The role is really setting how brisk boost will interact with your students. So, you can see automatically the role has been set. You are an educational chat bot designed to create a brief, engaging exit ticket for sixth-grade students who have just learned about ratios and proportions. And then it goes into more detail of how brisk boost might interact with your students. Again, all of this is entirely up to you to determine. You can change this in any way, and that will inform how brisk boost interacts directly with your students, which you'll see shortly. Next, we're going to preview, and this is where you can see what this interactive activity will actually look like to your students. So, I'm going to scroll down here to give you that preview. When we click here, we can see what the experience is going to look like. On the left, we have the original resource that we boosted, which is that slide deck on ratios and proportions. Again, this is a preview of what students will see. And on the right-hand side, students are able to see those learning objectives that

you set so they know what they're marching towards as they engage with brisk boost. And so we're going to click let's go. And from here students are able to start chatting with brisk boost. And brisk boost is going to be that exit ticket experience based on those learning objectives and the roles that you set. And so we know that not always will you want students to see each of these components as you're boosting a resource to them. Let's say you chose tutor or you chose a more quiz-like experience for students. You may actually want to hide the embedded resource where students are only engaging in a back-and-forth with brisk boost but not actually referencing the original material. And just as I demoed for you, that is entirely possible. Here we have made all of the elements of this brisk boost experience selectable. So you are really in control of what the student sees as they engage with this activity. Same thing for learning objectives. You're able to turn those off and on. Brisk boost experience is always going to be

laded directly to those learning objectives, but in some cases, you may not want students to see those as they're engaging back and forth with risk boost. So, from here, when you feel good about it, now we're going to share with students, and this is where you're going to create a class for this activity to live in. And so, you're able to add a new class and title the class however you want. So, in this case, this is a math activity, so I can say math section one. I'll click add, and now I am sharing this activity with students in math section one. And when we send this activity link to students, any student who clicks on that link will automatically be added to math section one. So, you don't have to add students in advance. When they get the link and click it, they're going to be added automatically. So, now you're going to select how you want your students to log in. If they have email addresses, you can select email login required. This means that you will see their Gmail as they're

engaging with this activity and get a variety of backend information on the specific student and how they're interacting. Also, you can just choose name login. You'll still see that backend information, but it won't be associated with the student's Gmail. We've selected that file setting, and from here, we're going to choose share. Here, you see the code students are going to use when they are ready to engage with this activity. One option is that they go to this website boost.show and type in this code separately. You can also copy the link for this activity and send it to students in Google Classroom or over email if you'd like.
