have you ever wondered what type of supplements and compounds Batman would take in real life? What would he take in order to optimize his physical performance, sharpen his mind, and to help him better handle the stresses of protecting Gotham? Well, on this episode of The Becoming Batman series, we're going to be going over the Batman supplement tier list. We'll be ranking all these supplements based on how often Batman would take them in your life, starting with supplements or compounds that he would never take and finishing with what he would take every single day, plus the secret utility belt tier, which I'll explain once we get there. So now's a good time to say this is not medical advice. I am not a doctor. I am just a random personal trainer from Canada with an unhealthy obsession with fictional Men Who cosplay as bats, and this video is for entertainment purposes only. So please, for the love of God, do not do anything stupid and don't sue me. So let's start off the first tier of supplements that Batman would never take with vegan and vegetarian protein.

powders. Batman is a red-blooded, not-so-God-fearing, meat-eating American, so he has no use for these types of protein supplements. Vegan/vegetarian protein powders have a lower bioavailability than their animal-based counterparts, which means that this protein is harder for your body to break down and to use. On top of this, they also have a worse profile of amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. And last but not least, they also taste like they were made by scooping up all of the chalk at the bottom of a middle school chalkboard and mixing it with old beans. So I'm sorry, vegans, but as long as animal-based protein powders exist, Batman would have no use for your substitutes. Next is non-pharmaceutical testosterone boosters. I'm talking about the test boosters that you can find on Amazon or your local GNC that promise to make your test level so high that the only harder than your rock-hard body is your rock-hard... you get the point. These testosterone boosters pretty

much throw together any herb, root, mineral, or vitamin that even has the teeniest bit of scientific research behind it suggesting that it might boost testosterone in humans, or sometimes in mice, which is often the case with a lot of these supplements, and then they shove all those ingredients into big pills, put those big pills into a bottle that has pictures of roided-out dudes all over it, and then they toss it up on amazon.com. But do these supplements really work? Well, yes and no. Taking some of the vitamins and minerals that you often find in these boosters can 100% help increase testosterone levels in men, but that's usually only if these men were already low on those nutrients to begin with before they start taking them. We'll be covering these specific nutrients later, so hang on tight. Then there are those fancy herbs like tonkat ali that have some studies showing that they can boost testosterone, but again, this seems to only happen if a guy is starting off with lower than average testosterone levels, and we need more research to see

if these herbs can do anything for guys who already have a normal or high amount of testosterone. This is pretty much the story for most of the stuff in these testosterone boosters. There's either not enough research on humans, or the research that exists shows that they might help, but only in very specific cases. However, there is actually one herb that is commonly included in these mixes that has a solid amount of research backing it up for boosting testosterone, but we'll talk about it later because it's featured on the list. Overall, someone like Batman probably wouldn't bother with these testosterone boosters. There's not enough solid research on many of the ingredients, and nobody has looked into how they might interact with other test-boosting compounds that Batman will be taking, so he wouldn't want to risk the possible side effects of mixing together all these different compounds. After all, it might surprise you to hear this, but Batman would actually need to make sure that his testosterone levels don't get too high, but we'll cover that. Speaking of getting too high, while

THC, AKA that sticky icky icky, AKA The Devil's lettuce, has plenty of effects that would be beneficial to The Dark Knight, such as increased appetite, decreased anxiety, decreased chronic pain, and being chill. Blazing up that sweet Mary Jane also comes with the risk of major negative psychological effects like psychosis, an increased risk of developing schizophrenia, decreased short-term and long-term memory, and eating way too many deep-fried peanut butter and pickle sandwiches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. We all know that Batman's greatest asset is his mind, so we simply cannot risk taking anything that would compromise it, no matter how sick it would be to see Batman smoking a fat blunt. Besides, do you really think Batman needs help at burning fat? Never. BCAA or Branch chain amino acid powders are a popular fitness supplement that pretty much don't do anything, as anyone who watched my becoming Batman episode on Batman's real-life diet would know. Batman would eat a ton of protein, so he'd be getting more than enough Branch chain amino acids from his diet, so he would have no use for a BCAA powder. Besides, even if Batman or you isn't getting enough protein from your regular diet, a simple protein powder will give you all the amino acids you need, Branch chain or otherwise, so save your money on the BCAAs and just pick up a quality protein powder. Never trenbolone acetate AKA Tren Baby. Tren is an anabolic steroid that was originally created to increase muscle mass and appetite in livestock, and it's also the favorite steroid of

teenage boys on TikTok. Do I really need to keep going here? I feel like that's enough. Never okay for real. As trend is a steroid, it does help increase muscle mass, strength, and decrease body fat, but it also comes along with a huge host of side effects like decreased cardiovascular capacity, increased risk of heart attack and stroke, mood swings, psychosis, mania, and also it makes you gay, which could totally be a positive for you depending on how anabolic you believe sleeping with other men to be. I'm going to stay out of this one, but Batman can't afford to just be some giant lump of muscle with multiple minor psychological disorders. So, I'm not saying he wouldn't do any type of steroid; in fact, there are some on this list later on, but because of the psychological side effects of using Tren, it's going in never. Turk Builder Plus by Greg Ducet, AKA turkesterone, AKA ecti steroid. These are a type of steroid hormone found in insects, and they have a

similar chemical structure to that of the hormone testosterone that's found in humans. So, of course, people thought that, Hey, maybe if I take this, it'll get me jacked too, but hopefully without turning me into some kind of man spider. So, a small amount of research was done in mice, beetles, and finally humans. And the first study on ETI steroids and humans showed no muscle-building effect versus a sugar pill. Then there was a second very poorly run study of about 40 men that did show some promising effects, but this is nowhere near enough evidence to show testosterone or ETI steroids are effective for increasing athletic performance or building muscle in humans. So, Batman will certainly not be taking them. However, apparently, this scarce low-quality research was enough for Greg Ducet to promote his Turk Builder product to his millions of fans and make millions of dollars in the process. Do with this information what you will. This one's going in never. Now on to supplements and compounds that Batman would take, but only in specific situations. But first is a line of

might be surprised to learn that protein powder isn't a daily must-have for Batman. For most of us hitting the gym or playing sports, protein shakes are a no-brainer. They're an easy and affordable way to bump up our daily protein intake. But here's the deal: unlike the average Joe who might find it tricky to pack in enough quality protein each day, Batman's got a different challenge. As I broke down in my video about Batman's real-life diet, Bruce would need to eat almost 10,000 calories every single day given his crazy level of physical activity. So, with the sheer volume he'd be eating, Batman could easily meet his protein needs. Instead, his challenge would actually be consuming enough calories, particularly from carbohydrates. So, sure, Batman might grab a protein shake now and then, but there's actually a different type of protein drink that we'll talk about later on that would be a huge game-changer for him and anyone else who has trouble eating enough calories each day to support their goals and growth. Okay, next up, humans have a built-in clock known as

the Circadian rhythm, which essentially tells us to feel awake in the morning by releasing cortisol as the sun comes up, and makes us feel sleepy in the evenings by releasing melatonin as the sun starts to go down. At least, that's how it's supposed to work for us normies, but for Batman, when it starts to get dark out, instead of going to sleep, he hits the town so he can fight the lead singer of popular rock bands, seven-time Mr. Olympia title holders, and, uh, sexy plants, which, to put it politely, leaves his Arcadian Rhythm completely [ __ ] since he often doesn't get home until the sun is fully up, which sends some real mixed signals to his brain. So, sometimes Batman would have to supplement with some melatonin pills, which send a signal to his body that it's time to go to bed, even if it's broad daylight out. Between his three-plus daily workouts, Keeping Up Appearances as Bruce Wayne, fighting crime all night as Batman, and rizing up Gotham's most eligible Bachelorette as

both Batman would constantly be battling with the negative side effects of his all-time greatest enemy: sleep deprivation. That's right, even with the help of sleep aids like melatonin, there's still going to be many points in Batman's career where he's forced to function on next to zero sleep, and that's where something called modafinil comes in. Modafinil is a prescription medication designed to help those who suffer from sleep disorders like narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and shift work sleep disorder to stay awake during the day. Batman will keep a bottle of the stuff on hand for emergencies when he can't afford to take the time to sleep but needs to counteract the effects of sleep deprivation and maintain his level of alertness. But this isn't something he could rely on all the time, as the human body can only go so long without sleep before cognitive impairment, memory issues, hallucinations, or even death sets in. That's why this is going in the sometimes tier, and keep in mind this is not something you should mess with now.

we're getting into the good stuff, the stuff that Batman would be taking often, maybe not every day, but at least a couple of times a week. Starting with mass gainers, these are protein powders with added calories, and these calories are typically added in the form of carbohydrates like waxy m oats, sweet potato powder, maltodextrin, or dextrose. These shakes would be perfect for when Batman is short on time but needs a quick hit of calories and carbs along with some protein, maybe between workouts, board meetings, or when he's out fighting crime. And Batman would likely get his own mass gainers made that have a higher ratio of carbs to protein than regular mass gainers because, like we talked about earlier, Batman would really struggle to get in enough carbs every day. Now, personally, as someone who's over 6'2 with a really fast metabolism, I've always been a hard gainer, and I've probably consumed over 200 lb of different mass gainers across my life so far. So, if you're like me and you

struggle to get your calories in and bulk up, then Mass gainers will be a game changer for you. Now, being Batman is not an easy job. Between all the late nights, nagging injuries, sore joints, and the huge amount of stress that comes along with protecting Gotham, Batman would need something that could help take the edge off and help him relax when he finally finds the time to put his feet up and chill. And that's where CBD comes in. Along with THC, CBD is one of the main active components found in cannabis, and consuming CBD has all kinds of amazing health effects, like alleviating pain, helping you relax, and reducing inflammation. But unlike THC, it doesn't get you high and doesn't have any psychoactive effects, meaning that Batman could use it without the fear of it compromising his mental performance. And unlike THC, CBD is federally legal in the US, meaning that as long as it's legal in your state, you can use it without the fear of Batman breaking down your door and sending you to Blackgate or even

worse arhome now we're on to what might be the most controversial compound on this list. To some of you, this is going to come as a huge, huge surprise, and to others, this is something that you saw coming a mile away. In real life, Batman would 100% be injecting anabolic steroids straight into his ripped ass butt cheeks, and you know what? He'd be doing it often. Let me explain, because right now, a bunch of you are probably saying that Batman would never do something like this, but there is actually a Batman storyline where, after failing to save the life of a young woman because he wasn't physically strong enough, Bruce decides to take a fictional steroid known as Venom. This drug significantly increased his strength and muscle mass, but it came at a massive cost. The Venom completely changed Bruce's personality, making him overly aggressive and egotistical. This got so bad that he actually decided that he didn't need to wear the bat suit anymore when he was fighting crime, and he just started straight up beating up

criminals while wearing a trench coat and a hat. Honestly, kind of a sigma move, but uh, you know, moving on. Eventually, after realizing how much the Venom was affecting him, Bruce locked himself in the Batcave for 30 days so he could quit the addictive steroid. This is just like what I talked about when I put Tren in the never tier. Batman could not afford the mental side effects that come along with taking large doses of anabolic steroids. But what if there was a way for Batman to take steroids without wanting to sleep with every Catwoman cosplayer he sees, putting holes in his drywall, and having the aggressive male urge to put it all on red? Well, there is, and it all comes down to taking the right amounts of the right steroid. See, in real life, being Batman is the perfect recipe for being a low testosterone man. See, first of all, Batman gets very little sleep, and his sleep quality is very poor because of his AR I schedule. And we know that when men are chronically underslept, their testosterone levels plummet. Next, I

think it's pretty fair to say that living the dual life of a billionaire businessman and a bat-themed one-man army is probably the most stressful lifestyle out there, next to being Kanye's PR manager, of course. And we know that the stress hormone cortisol and testosterone have a seesaw relationship, meaning that when one of them goes up, the other one typically goes down. And finally, it's been shown time and time again that when men overtrain their bodies, it can lead to suppressed testosterone levels. And I don't think it's a stretch to say that Batman's daily 3 to 5 hours of training would lead to him being overtrained, especially when you consider that he does this before he even goes out to fight crime for the night. Now, of course, we know that having low testosterone levels can lead to a whole host of problems, like decreased muscle mass, increased fat mass, decreased ability to recover from training, and being a sneo or fresh and fit fan. That last one is hard to come back from, so Batman would have to do two things to combat this low.

T status first. He would ensure he's getting the right amount of important testosterone-supporting vitamins and minerals, along with another supplement that would be perfect for people in this type of high-stress situation, all of which we'll be talking about later. And second, Batman would be taking testosterone replacement therapy while working with a doctor, of course, to ensure that he's taking an appropriate dose. Because while many people might believe that when it comes to testosterone in men, the more you have, the better, having too much testosterone can actually be just as harmful as not having enough of the sweet, sweet muscle-building Sigma juice. So, Batman would want to take just enough testosterone to bring him up to high-normal levels. Then he can enjoy all the positive mental and physical effects of healthy testosterone levels without going crazy and having to lock himself in his basement for a month. Quick secondary disclaimer for those of you who are Googling how to get testosterone replacement fast online right now: you should only ever take testosterone if your levels are low and you've done

everything you can to fix it naturally, like fixing your sleep schedule, your diet, cutting out alcohol and weed from your life, and sleeping with as many different partners as possible. That last one was a joke; don't do that. Or do it; I don't really care who you sleep with. Now onto the cream of the crop, the stuff that Batman would be swallowing, injecting, snorting, or otherwise getting into his body every goddamn day. But first of all, I need to set something straight. When you hear someone say or read online that a specific vitamin, mineral, or supplement has a certain positive effect when taken, you'll typically only experience the positive effect if you were already deficient in that thing, and taking more of it brought you up to healthy levels. For instance, the claim that drinking protein powder helps you build more muscle is true, but only if you weren't getting in enough protein before introducing the powder. Or the claim that supplementing with zinc increases your testosterone levels. This is also true, but again, only if supplementing with the

mineral brings your zinc levels up to normal, so it's never a good idea just to randomly take a bunch of supplements because you've heard that they have positive effects. At best, you'll just be literally pissing away a bunch of money while paying for Greg Duett's third Lambo, and at worst, you could be harming yourself by overdosing on some of those supplements. This is exactly why Batman would frequently get his blood tested, so he can ensure that he's taking the right amount of supplements, only taking the ones that he actually needs without going overboard on the ones that he doesn't. This, of course, does cost money, which, unlike watching Mr. Beast would have you believe, isn't just handed out at random. So, a much cheaper alternative for the rest of us is to use an app like Money. So, Bruce would definitely be taking the blood test route, and assuming Batman isn't getting enough of these from his diet, here are some supplements that he would definitely be taking on The Daily. First off, much like those who

frequent the website Reddit, including myself. Batman wouldn't be getting nearly enough direct exposure to sunlight to naturally get enough of the hormone Vitamin D. Yep, that's right. For those of you who didn't know, vitamin D is actually a hormone, and it's an incredibly important one that is essential for maintaining strong bones, good mental health, a functioning immune system, and for keeping your testosterone levels in a healthy range. So, if you're like Batman and haven't felt the sweet kiss of sunlight on your skin in weeks, bail on that game of Fortnite you're playing right now, close your 17 tabs of goth girl hentai, and go touch grass. Or if that sounds impossible, get your levels tested and take some vitamin D pills. Zinc and magnesium are both minerals that have shown promise for increasing testosterone levels in men, but again, only if these men were deficient before supplementing with these minerals. And remember when I said Batman would be eating more carbohydrates than a pre-diabetes Willy Wonka? Well, for his body to turn all the

sweet, sweet carbohydrates into vengeance, fueling energy he would need help from a group of micronutrients called B vitamins, which play a large part in your body's metabolism. So, Alfred would be closely watching his test results to make sure Bruce's levels of these important vitamins never get too low. And another big one is Omega-3s. We already covered this in my Becoming Batman video on Batman's diet, so we'll keep this short, but Omega-3s have all kinds of amazing health benefits, like improving heart and joint health, decreasing inflammation, improving sleep, and helping treat mental disorders. And as someone who treats his childhood trauma by dressing up like a bat and beating up the unhoused, Batman could definitely benefit from that last one. Next up, we've got two powerful adaptogens, which are plants that help the body deal with stress, and these are things Batman would take daily. And the first is rhodiola rosea. I don't know. Rhodiola has an extensive track record for being able to

promote healing, relieve stress, improve mental cognition, and increase one's sense of well-being. But for Batman, the big benefit he'd be after is this plant's ability to decrease one's rate of perceived exertion during resistance training and decrease feelings of fatigue during endurance training. This essentially means that taking Rola could help Batman push himself harder without feeling the mental fatigue and stress that comes along with it. I've actually taken this one myself for quite a long time, and I do find that it lets me push harder during my workouts without feeling as much of the mental exhaustion that comes along with hardcore training. So if you have trouble pushing yourself, this could be one to look into. The second adaptogen Batman would be taking on the regular is ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is well known for two things: its ability to reduce stress by decreasing the levels of cortisol in our bodies and increasing testosterone levels in men. Now the current theory behind why ashwagandha increases testosterone in men is actually because of its ability to

decrease cortisol levels because, like we said earlier, when cortisol levels go up, testosterone levels tend to go down. So instead of directly increasing test levels in the same way that something like steroids do, ashwagandha increases testosterone levels in a more indirect way. Essentially, it just stops excess cortisol from suppressing your testosterone. Of course, always check with your doctor before popping pills full of funny plants with funny names, but young Jeffy nips takes it, so that's enough evidence for me to put it in the everyday tier. The next thing Batman would take every day is Viagra. I feel like this one kind of explains itself, so uh, let's move on. As a martial arts master, we all know that Batman would do a ton of endurance-based training in real life, so that's why he would take a popular fitness supplement called beta-alanine. This is actually something we typically see included in most pre-workouts, and in fact, it's the ingredient that gives pre-workout the funny side effect of making your butthole itchy, or for some, that's the

primary effect beta Al. It makes your face and body just weirdly. But Batman wouldn't be taking it for that reason because I'm not even sure he could scratch his ass through the bat suit anyways. He'd be taking it for its ability to improve high-intensity exercise performance during activities that last between 1 to 10 minutes in duration. And finally, the last item in the everyday tier is creatine monohydrate. Creatine, for those of you who don't know, is the most well-researched fitness supplement out there and one of the few that are actually worth the hype. When you take creatine, it essentially helps your muscles produce more energy, especially during intense activities like sprints or heavy weightlifting. This lets you push harder during those activities and do slightly more work than if you weren't taking creatine, which over time will help you increase your running speed, increase your power output, and help you build more muscle. Also, for those of you asking, yes, you're still Natty if you take

creatine. Now finally on to the utility belt tier. These are compounds that Batman simply could not be Batman without, so he would keep them on hand or on belt, as the case may be, at all times. What do you get when you take a 210 lb athlete that is nearly all muscle mass, shove them into a Kevlar bat suit, and get him to go fight crime for 5 hours a night? You get the world's sweatiest profession. The average athlete loses 1 to 3 l of sweat per hour, and along with all the water that's lost in this sweat, the athlete also loses anywhere from 1.3 to 5.5 G of salt, along with a bunch of other important electrolytes. And these electrolytes need to be replaced ASAP because without the right amount of electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, the human body can't keep itself properly hydrated. Since electrolytes are what your body uses to hold on to the right amount of water, plus your muscles actually need these electrolytes to work.

right because they help send the electrical signals that tell your muscles to contract. So, unless Timothy the quizar katarak Shalom has an extra still suit on hand to land, Bruce Batman is going to need to keep a supply of electrolyte supplements and drinking water on him at all times, unless he wants to end up like SpongeBob from that one episode. Would be nice. It takes a ton of carbohydrates to power all of the running, jumping, and fighting that Batman does while he's out on the town. And it's a well-studied fact that consuming fast-acting carbohydrates can delay fatigue during continuous exercise that lasts longer than 1 hour. So, to make sure he can maintain peak performance for as long as possible each night, Batman would constantly be sipping on a carbohydrate powder. These powders are made up of simple, fast-digesting carbs like maltodextrin or dextrose that can pass through the digestive system quickly, meaning that they won't cause any stomach upset, and they can get to work.

If you yourself play sports or train hard and you find your energy levels always tank after about 40 to 60 minutes, you might want to give these a try yourself. This next one is another one of the most well-researched performance-enhancing compounds out there. It can increase your tolerance to pain and discomfort, allow you to push harder while exercising, and increase your explosive power output. Batman would be a regular caffeine user for two very scientific reasons: to create all of the chemical energy needed to power his training, fighting, and thinking. Batman's body breaks down something called adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, after being broken

Apart, the adenosine part of ATP floats up to the brain where it binds to adenosine receptors, which tells your body to get tired. This process is why you feel more tired after a hard workout, a long day at work, or after a period of intense focus. What caffeine does is it actually blocks these adenosine receptors in the brain so that they can't be triggered and make you feel tired. Because of how strenuous Batman's daily routine is on his body and mind, you can imagine just how much adenosine would be floating up to his brain and telling him to take a quick bat nap halfway through the day. So, having regular access to caffeine would be huge for him, allowing him to push through fatigue and remain alert even as his day goes on. But caffeine would do more for Batman than just keep him awake. Consuming caffeine before exercise has also been shown to increase performance by a significant amount. This effect seems to be more pronounced for endurance-based exercises like running, cycling, and martial arts, but they've

also found caffeine to be effective for strength training. Caffeine lets you push harder, handle pain and discomfort more easily, and increase your mental sharpness, which is huge for a strategic fighter like Batman. So, you can see why Batman would always keep some caffeine on hand, whether in the form of a drink, pill, or powder. Quick disclaimer before this next one: I'm not suggesting that you take this or use it. It is addictive, and it can really mess with your health. But Batman does whatever it takes to protect Gotham. The next entry into the utility belt tier is nicotine. That's right, the active ingredient in cigarettes, vapes, and cigars. But no, this doesn't mean that Batman would be ripping darts with the boys or blowing fatty clouds in real life. Batman would consume nicotine in the form of gums and sprays, since these aren't as addictive as or come with as many negative health effects as all of these. But why would Batman use nicotine at all? The answer is simple: AED cocoline. Acetylcholine is a

neurotransmitter that plays a vital role in attention, learning, and memory, and it's released when you consume nicotine. So, by consuming nicotine in controlled amounts, Batman could potentially increase his acetylcholine levels, leading to improved focus, quicker reaction times, and better memory recall. These cognitive boosts would be invaluable when analyzing crime scenes, strategizing against villains, or navigating the complex landscapes of Gotham City. Consuming nicotine also releases dopamine, which is a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of pleasure, motivation, and reward. So, nicotine could bolster Batman's mental resilience, increase his motivation, and help him navigate the stress, fear, and emotional weight of his crime-fighting crusade. But even though it has a bunch of attractive benefits, nicotine is still, at the end of the day, an addictive drug. So, Batman would have to use it only when necessary in order to stop himself from becoming dependent. So, there you have it. That's the Batman supplement tier list.
