Ukrainian fighters destroyed a Russian armored column on the Vuhledar front in the Donetsk region, near the village of Vuhledar.

Russian assault groups were defeated by fighters from the Edelweiss Brigade, the 109th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the Brigade.

The battalion said that the battle took place on December 14th. The Russian command sent armored vehicles and infantry to the assault.

The path to the Ukrainian positions lay through a field where other assault groups had already been defeated. However, this did not stop the occupiers, and they tried to advance as far as possible along mined roads and under artillery fire.

The Ukrainian military destroyed all the armored vehicles of the Russian armored group. The occupiers then tried to advance with infantry, which was already hit by FPVs (Fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles).

Ukrainian fighters also used incendiary shells from drones, which are used to destroy fortifications in which enemy infantry is hiding.

All these attacks were repelled with devastating losses for the enemy, the Battalion said. The situation in the Vuhledar direction remains tense.

The enemy continues to attempt to break through the defenses of Ukrainian forces and, in some areas, has had some success, such as in the direction of the settlement of Vuhledar.
