[Music] Hi guys and welcome back to my channel. Today I'm doing a review on a Rolex Yacht-Master Rhodium. [Music] Before I do that, I want to raise my glass to all the watch people out there. [Music] Got some good whiskey in here today.

So this is the second video I'm making about this watch. The first one will never be published anywhere because I stopped in about five minutes because this lovely piece, lovely Yacht-Master, has a lot of polishing on it and no matter what I did, there were fingers

fingerprints everywhere. So I had to buy these lovely gloves. So I will get into this piece in a little bit here, but let me give you some wrist checks if I can go that far. This wrist checks my left hand. I have my Tudor Black Bay

58, beautiful watch. I have reviews on this and this and the Submariner and so forth. And on my right hand, I got a piece that I just got in. This is a retrace, very rare watch, 50 pieces ever made. And I chose to bring this today because

this, in some instances, does have some things in common with the Yacht-Master. [Music] This is a 2019 model, this reference 116622, and obviously it's a rhodium dial. [Music] So for many years I always, I found this watch very

attractive. Every time I seen pictures of this watch, it just, it's very intriguing. Um, the mix of of platinum that's integrated in the watch. So a little bit of history, Yacht-Master since the 90s, the Yacht-Master was brought on the market

Supposedly, it was to be a replacement for the Submariner. My favorite Yacht-Master, even though I like this, my favorite one is my buddy Jeremy on Instagram. He has one, it's that beautiful yellow gold with the white dial and black indices. It's absolutely stunning watch.

Now, those went really crazy in value. Right now, they're about 25 to 30 grand, but they are stunning watches. This is when it comes to the beauty of the Yacht-Master. This is not far from that initial gold watch, so this is [Music]

It is very well known within the watch community, the Yacht-Master. Some people compare this to the Submariner, others say it's a step above, and others say it is not quite to the Submariner caliber. So, a little bit of information about the watch. This is

a 40 millimeter watch, pretty much the same dimensions as a Submariner, except it is thinner. [Music] The case back is obviously a little bit smaller than the Submariner. It's sterile. It has a very beautiful case, perhaps the case that the Submariner

should have, in my opinion, because it slopes down just like this lovely Etrier watch that I have. It's so slow, so beautiful. You'll see what I put on my hand. It has obviously a diver look bezel to it that is made completely out of platinum.

[Music] And it's, it is stunning. The finishing on it is absolutely beautiful. These all have a date and this one has a what's called a rhodium dial. [Music] It's beautiful, very beautiful. Though the indices and the layout of the dial

Yes, it does remind you of the Submariner without a doubt. Beautiful hands, white gold, white gold indices. The watch is clearly stainless steel, 904L. The clasp is very, very nice, reminds you um a little bit of the Submariner, but it doesn't have the Glidelock.

It has, as Rolex's other extension, which is very nice actually. I like this a lot. Comparing, not having, you know, any, let's just say, you do get with this a couple of millimeters in there. It's very beautiful finishing. You know, finishing is the same.

Amazing quality you get from Rolex. Very nice brushing on the brushed surfaces and beautiful polishing everywhere on this watch. Very attractive watch. I can't say it's not. It has blue hands on the second hand, and it has Yacht-Master on the dial. It is a

100 meters water resistance, screw-down crown, obviously hackable. I mean, yes [Music]. The movement of the crown is, is what you expect. It's, it's the same like the um, the Submariner. Now, it's, it's very, very nice, extreme quality, that's just Rolex.

Now, some positives, some negatives about this watch. If this was truly designed to replace a Submariner, I'm happy it didn't because the Submariner is so much of a dive watch compared to this. Um, number one, this is 100 meters. Now, that

can be, how many people go 300 meters under the water with the Submariner? Not that many people. But the biggest thing about this watch is this lovely platinum bezel. It is, I like this bi-directional, but there's no way for you to time your

dive with this this is just um it's just beautiful but the function of it is just for you to track minutes you know you can definitely do that with it you know you can definitely track you know minutes with the with the bezel the movement of it

is astonishing it is I mean we see a lot of watches that have bi-directional obviously not in this price range but and a lot of them uh you know most like a friction based but this I mean this is the same movement as the Submariner except it doesn't click and

it makes no sound and when people think of a dive watch that's that's a want people want to hear those clicks I just did a video with my Tudor Black Bay comparing it to the Submariner and the clicks in the Submariner and the Tuna Black

Bay have absolutely amazing listen to this and then you listen to this there's nothing there and that's because it's a bi-directional bezel now I like bi-directional bezels this beautiful piece is bi-directional now this retractable

it's a watch that most people never heard of because it's only 50 in the whole world [Music] this has bi-directional bezel it's a Honda meters as an absolutely gorgeous case just like the Yacht-Master now this is nowhere compared to a Rolex but

but it's it has the same you know things that I like about this watch what I don't like mostly about this watch is that this is no longer a dive watch it has the look of it it has all the precious metals that integrated into it and it makes it very

Expensive makes it a luxury watch. It's a lot more of a luxury watch than the Submariner, that's for sure. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Polishing [Music] The bracelet kind of reminds me of a Daytona. Uh, it is, it is stunning.

The clasp is very beautiful. [Music] It is a beautiful watch. Just for me, it, it doesn't really do a whole lot to me, but that's me. I mean, I'm just an answer, I mean, I complain about this on there, and most people don't.

You know, but here's the Sea-Dweller. It is a hell of a watch. [Music] Now, positives about this watch. [Music] Most people when they think of divers and Rolex, they think of the Submariner. A lot of people who are not into watches

have no idea what this is. They look at it and they say, "Oh, that looks like that Sub watch." But it's not. So, it's, it's, it's, in a way, is more special than the Sub. It has a better case. I think, uh, if you

ever had a Sub in your, you know, hand or if you've seen a lot of them, you know how flat that case is, and when it sits in your hand, it's pretty much like a brick. There's not that much contour, but this has a beautiful, beautiful

sloped down case. It is stunning. I really like that about this watch. Now, the Submariner is pretty much flat. This has really nice round edges and the design of the case is, it's a lot smaller. It looks better. I never took this off the

the bracelet, it's not my watch. This is a friend of mine's watch and I did not wear this a whole lot either because [Music] these scratch a lot and I don't want to do that to the watch. I don't want to do that to the watch

because I respect my friend who bought this and this is a very valuable watch. The good thing about these [Music] this watch cost like what eleven thousand, eleven five I believe when you when you first purchase it and most of these are in between fifteen

and eighteen thousand dollars. I did see a few of them twelve, thirteen, but a lot of them have a lot of scratches so it brings down the value of this watch. That's the number one reason I didn't I couldn't pull myself to wear this

because I know if I scratch this he's going to lose money so it's not fair. So if it was mine I would wear it, you know, whatever, scratch it, I don't care. My my black bay has so many scratches on it, but this is a lot more of a tool watch

than this will ever be. That's just the way it is. This is more geared more towards luxury, uh the luxury side of a Rolex and it does the job. If somebody doesn't want a Submariner, they want something more elegant, something thinner, this is definitely the

watch and it definitely pulls the luxury part because it has a full platinum bezel. It looks stunning. This dial is very beautiful, this rhodium dial, a little bit of loom, well it has the the Chromalight that Rolex is known for. [Music]

and it looks very very nice I mean I can't really say nothing about the loom the loom is stunning look at that thing it's a beautiful watch just not for me I mean if I had 18 000 to spend and I had to buy

uh a watch or two I would not pick this watch because I am a little anal when it comes to scratches on polished surfaces on you know buffed like this [Music] brushed brushed it doesn't really bother me but on polished surfaces like this

it's not gonna work I mean I'm gonna be you know taking fingerprints off of this every 10 minutes it's not for me that's just the way it is [Music] beautiful Chromalight that BGW-9 look that has what else

it's a beautiful watch if you want something different in some area if you're not the type of person to go diving and time your dive this is perfect for you it is special it's in a way unique there's no other Submariner I mean no

other no other Rolex that has a platinum bezel like this it is it is beautiful it's valuable uh unless you pay you know 20 grand for you're not going to lose that much money or something like this if you can buy new by all means if you

find it you know it is definitely worth worth worth of money because the prices of these are going up like anything else that's Rolex these days so there's a beautiful watch not much else to say about this except if you always admire this watch I can tell you
