Thank you, thank you. Now let's dive in. If you're just now joining us, this is Chapter 3 of *The Way of the Superior Man*. If you're not familiar with this book, get familiar. Get familiar. I keep saying this over and over. Read it more than one time. Read it more than one

time because it says something different to you depending on where you're at in your journey. Okay, read this more than once. Study it. Understand the concepts and the principles, and apply them. Apply them. Okay, it's not enough just to read this and be like, 'Oh, that's awesome. This

is what a man is supposed to be,' and not do the [ __ ]. So do it. So Chapter 3 is 'Live as if your father were dead.' All right, sounds pretty grim, pretty gloomy, pretty uh, depressing. I'm gonna read out of this real quick. Okay, a man must love

his father and yet be free of his father's expectations and criticisms in order to be a free man. All right, let me say that again. A man must love his father and yet be free of his father's expectations and criticisms in order to be a free man.

True story. True story. You know, and this is universal because some of us didn't grow up with fathers, so this can be anyone in your life who you try to stay within the confines of their expectations. You know, many of us suppress our gifts. So many of

Us suppress our passion, our creativity. Imagine that your father was dead, or remember when he did die. Are there any feelings of relief associated with his death? Now that he's dead, is any part of you happy that you need not to live up to his expectations or suffer his

criticisms? You know, maybe there's something you are afraid to pursue because you didn't want to be criticized by your father. Live as if your father wasn't around anymore, he wasn't there to criticize you. There is no expectation for you to live

up to. How would you live your life? Would you be doing the things you're doing now, or would you be doing something totally different? Sometimes those expectations, they get ingrained in us, right? We forget about the things we're passionate about, we forget about our creativity, right? They

become ingrained in our judgment of ourselves, right? And they stay within us, and we still strive to meet those expectations even if it's something that we don't want to do. That's not to suggest that you're not supposed to love your father, respect your father, take

guidance and leadership from your father. Many of us, when we, we have passions outside of the expectations of our parents, right, of our father figure, we become ashamed of those things because they're not celebrated. So it's saying, once each day for the next three days,

do one of those things, do one of those things that you've been hiding, do one of the things that you've been fearful of doing, ashamed of doing. Do those things. Live as if your father was dead. This is your coach, Jamie Reynolds. How you love
