Welcome, nice to meet you. You applied to appear on our channel. Could you please introduce yourself? Yes, hello. I am an online seller running an online success channel. It's been about a year since I started YouTube, and I am currently operating this channel with the goal of creating your own unique sword in the online world. Oh, the expression creating your own sword is referring to collaborating.

It seems like it would have something to do with making knives, right? With that in mind, we decided to create knife-related content online. Also, there's another thing. My name also includes the word hyupja. So, if you come to our channel, I am the CEO, so we decided to address me as the CEO. Is this also a culture? I received applications and did a lot of research on our CEO. What exactly do you do, and I had a strong feeling that you might be a master at something. It seemed like it would be very helpful for our channel, so I decided to have an interview with our CEO. From what I heard, you are younger than me, so I might not look that young. Therefore, you started a business at a very young age like CEO Jeong. CEO Jeong was born in 1992, and I was born in 1993. You were born in 1993, right? [Laughter] I feel like we are in a similar age group.

Stop the chit-chat, and I have to show our subscribers a lot of the know-how of our CEO. So, I'm really curious about what kind of business the CEO has been doing and what kind of career path he has. I started my online business in September 2017, so I've been in the field for 7 years and a little over 6 years. CEO, on the other hand, has been doing a lot of business related to overseas purchasing agents and managing the channel in that way. In my case, I have hardly done any purchasing agent work, and I started online sales through consignment sales. I have been really focusing on making one or two of my own products well and growing these products to sell to consumers. Furthermore, I want to manufacture, import, or produce brand products that match this category, and I started my business with the motto of wanting to sell my own products.

I am still doing business like that now. So, when you mention domestic consignment, are you talking about wholesale or wholesale agencies? It could also be domestic consignment. I have tried wholesale and sourcing, but my direction is to focus on sourcing with slightly higher entry barriers than that area. For example, you can see tripods now. There are many business owners who have tripods. I have sourced a lot by visiting or calling those business owners who have actually imported or produced tripods. Most of them source domestic products, right? It could be domestic products, or it could be domestic business owners who brought the products. It's not like buying from Chinese purchasing agents like Taobao or 1688, but sourcing from there in our domestic market.

The bosses are sourcing again. Yes, that's right. Because I don't directly sell products in China, I source products from people who bring products from China and sell them to domestic bosses. I will try selling this once and have started a lot like this. Because even though it's consignment sales in the domestic wholesale market, there is a bit of a barrier to entry. I think I can sell well if I do something that not everyone can source. So, I am still looking for those kinds of products a lot, and currently, more than 70% of the products I am selling are like that. When it comes to selling domestic products, in my opinion, you can even bring high-altitude emissions from Gangwon Province. You can bring products manufactured in Namdong Industrial Complex in Incheon. I have actually been there and seen it. They are manufactured in Namdong Industrial Complex.

I visit business owners to receive products, and I also sell agricultural and fisheries products myself. I contact domestic producers or distributors of agricultural products to receive their goods. There are many importers in Korea who import products from various countries such as China, Europe, or the United States, and sell them on domestic platforms like Smart Store or Coupang. I contact these people and try to sell my products together. So, I mostly source products and almost act as a seller. My simple thought is that by doing this, I can reduce the middle margin when compared to purchasing products directly from China or buying low-cost branded products from various countries. I am currently consigning the sale of a salad brought from various countries by contacting the salad maker. This makes me think that the middle margin might be slightly reduced. However, what I need to consider carefully is how to leverage this.

You know, these days the word leverage is trending. Those who have capital at the beginning don't need to do what I do. Now, I directly import, manufacture, and sell products in the domestic market. However, I was a complete beginner with no capital. Even now, for those in a similar situation, I also provide lectures. Initially, I had very little capital, so in order to start, I had to rely on consignment. By doing so, even if I have to give up a certain margin, structuring it this way allows me to achieve maximum sales with minimal capital. This is my top priority. Based on this judgment, I have been focusing on setting up sourcing methods. In reality, the advantage of doing this is that if I sourced and sold something like a selfie stick successfully, I would gain knowledge on how to sell products in this category.

Back then, the probability of success was very high when importing or producing products directly because I knew how to sell this product in the online ecosystem, so I created a lot of my own products through this route. It was said to be good for beginners starting out, right? So, it is possible with capital. It's not exactly possible with no capital because in fact, with purchasing agents, they guarantee the purchase when an order comes in. What I mean is, if someone in Korea buys a shirt from Europe, then you need to order that shirt from Europe and send it to the customer. In that case, the money spent on the purchase is similar, right? Yes, you need at least that amount of money. The more sales you have, the more money you need, right? I also saw content on atherosclerosis, and the better atherosclerosis is, the higher the chances of success.

However, if I may give you a little more tip, what happens when arteriosclerosis occurs is that when I receive an order, I have to deliver the product to me and pay the supplier to keep sending the product. You just need to extend that period. Oh, that's negotiable. It's totally possible. In the beginning, when there is no trust, you can ask for daily payments, but as trust builds up, or from the beginning, I am trying to start with this structure. I am confident in selling well, but I don't have money. If you say this, there are many people who can make the payment valid. So, even if you don't have much capital, you can overcome arteriosclerosis. I have set up this structure because you need to think well. You don't have money, but orders come in. But if you have money, you can send the order to the customer. So, what would you do?

But you can borrow money, ask to pay later, or even offer credit. However, if we call it credit, the word may sound a bit negative. Anyway, please extend the payment period of the transaction amount in a way that suits me, making my cash flow more positive. By continuing to do this, I have devised my own Sakusho. Oh, I think this could be quite beneficial for those who are new to this at first. Overseas purchases are the same. Actually, it's a bit difficult for many people to get into importing goods from abroad. There is a bit of a barrier to entry regarding imports. However, in the case of domestic consignment, you can contact domestic business owners or factories in Korea by phone in Korean. I think that's quite nice, and based on the concept of zero capital, as far as I have thought until now.

It feels somewhat similar to overseas purchasing agency. It's almost the same, but I think the difference lies in whether the product comes from overseas or goes out domestically. Our subscribers might be curious about how much revenue they can generate by consigning products for sale. You've probably seen a lot of CEOs who have increased their sales that way. So, what is the revenue threshold? For me, my current goal for online sales is 10 million KRW a month. I've been doing domestic consignment for almost 7 years now, and I think the average profit margin is around 25% to 30%. So, at least around 40 to 50 million KRW in revenue should come out. Even after deducting advertising expenses and some operating costs, a net profit of around 10 million KRW comes out just right if I achieve sales of around 40 million KRW.

It comes out to be 10 million won. Even after deducting all the advertising costs, about 20% to 25% remains. From my perspective as someone who only handles purchasing, the structure is a bit hard to understand. Oh, I see. This could be due to the difference in how much advertising costs are incurred or how much margin can be obtained from bringing in many products. Let's just consider it as 50 million won for now. If it's 50 million won, and assuming a 30% profit margin, that would be 15 million won. But if we spend about 5 million won on advertising, operating costs, and other things, we will have some left, right? Generally, it goes in this kind of structure. It may vary, but I have mostly done it that way. Consequently, I have seen many cases where almost pure profit of around 10 million won is achieved with sales of less than 50 million won. As an example, even my younger sibling achieved this in Australia.

After working as a chef for five years, I joined the military and achieved success through this mechanism. Most of my friends and acquaintances around me have also succeeded in a similar way. So, in my opinion, the unit price should be relatively high, around 50 million won. If we consider that, it seems like the customer satisfaction would be less burdensome. Right, when we look at it that way, actually, in our purchasing agency, the unit price is a bit lower in China, but in our European purchasing agency, the unit price is higher, so the customer satisfaction is lower. However, I think that in the case of domestic consignment, customer satisfaction might be a bit higher. We cannot say there is no customer satisfaction, but on average, we promise three products. Originally, we talk about two to four products. Generating this level of sales with this level of products was the structure I initially set. Therefore, even if I am accurately managing only three to four products,

Most customer services can do almost everything, and the number of products is not that high. So, if I specialize in this product, in fact, I won't be afraid of any customer service. Of course, there will be fraud, but as I do it, it seems different for each category. Even if the number of products is small, there are many customers who are very sensitive and thoughtful when buying baby products or slightly premium products. Actually, baby products are like that. So unless it's those kinds of products, there are many customer services. The reason I chose to focus on these four products in this world is that I concluded, based on data over many years, that if you endure this level of customer service as a one-person seller, you can do it alone. So when sales reach around 50 million won, taking about 10 million won, you can understand customer service as a structure for one person. With that structure, I am currently employing a strategy to promote four products in the world.

I think you are talking about being there, so in the case of our purchasing agency, you usually start with bulk registration. Of course, the owner emphasizes manual registration on the official channel, but the manual registration I do is actually not a structure where rookie items are displayed and generate that level of sales. I was quite surprised by that point. Because I thought it was not possible to have that kind of sales by displaying three products like that through domestic consignment. I suddenly make a judgment that this is a difference in industry and update. Anyway, even though purchasing agencies do manual registration, they work hard on registration. But do you advertise or do marketing after that? We don't. We think advertising is essential for marketing. It seems like that's the difference. Because when advertising and marketing are done, more is achieved.

There will be inflow, and within advertising and marketing, there is content, so more conversions will take place. Also, for detailed pages, I'm not sure what it means, but we also make detailed pages 100% handmade. In fact, sometimes designers do it, and when I was a solo seller, I did it alone. We also work with design freelancers or people like that. We call each item that goes into one product a soul. A lot of souls go into one product. For beginners, it seems to take about a month for those who are doing it for the first time. It seems to take about a month to launch one and properly make the product. However, if it's not your own product, and especially if it's a consigned product, what if someone takes it away later? That's why I don't recommend wholesale in this structure.

Anyone can take it away and anyone can upload it, but when I make a phone call or make a contract with a trading partner, we talk about those conditions. For example, if I want exclusivity for this product for six months, can I give it to only three or four sellers if exclusivity is not possible? Because it's still on consignment, I make a structure that doesn't overlap within this consignment. Actually, I put up the product like that, make agreements with those people, and can even turn that into my own brand. And one more tip, if other sellers start selling the same product here, there is a way to avoid this. How do you avoid it? First of all, the premise is the same for purchasing agents.

Consumers can't find the lowest price at first. So, the first premise is that if you can't find the lowest price, you don't have to make other gifts look the same as mine. In order to do that, thumbnails and detailed pages are necessary first. And then, the third tip I'll give you is about bringing in traffic. But usually, we direct traffic only to the detailed page, or in my case, I also do blogging and other marketing, but I don't advertise the brand name of the product. For example, if it's a smart store, I advertise it with the name of the smart store I created. This makes consumers search for our smart store name. If I were to sell selfie sticks, even if I sell them at an online store called Hello, I create a lot of virals by saying hello. Therefore, the marketing routes I take are for products similar to mine.

Many structures can be created that can only be uploaded to me without going to people, that's what we do as a smart store. Most of them are done as smart stores. Nowadays, a lot is done through Coupang. So, even if you don't operate a comprehensive mall, you can create your own brand shopping mall like that. I believe I can do it well. People think it's so easy for anyone to create a smart store, but it's a huge thing. Individuals can easily create their own brand with just a few clicks, and they can brand it. In fact, Coupang is following this trend. Coupang recently created something called My Shop. Probably 99% of sellers don't know, but I think we are moving into an era where each individual's model is being branded. I believe I can do enough of those things at the present moment.

There is an e-commerce ecosystem, and what I think is online. In my opinion, many beginners are on our channel, so from a beginner's perspective, it's a bit comfortable to enter the domestic market. But when it comes to creating detailed pages, making product names impressive, and then various advertisements, even just hearing about viral advertisements seems difficult. From a beginner's perspective, it's really hard to do that. So, I will give you some tips to make it easier. These tips could be real trade secrets. Actually, I also think the purchasing agent market is great. What I mean is, when you upload various products, whether manually or in bulk, and they get exposure and selected, they are sold.
