welcome back, Etsy sellers. So, you might be wondering, why in the world am I wearing a Christmas shirt in the middle of July? And the reason is because, if you looked at the title of this video, we are going to be doing a Christmas in July video today. The reason why we're doing this so early in the year is simply because Q4 is the biggest time for potential sales for Etsy sellers like yourself, and we want to give you as much time as possible to complete all of the research that's needed, create awesome ideas for your targeted buyers, and get those optimized listings live. Did you know, in 2023, over the course of Q4, Etsy had $3.6 billion in sales, which was up 142% year-over-year across a 4-year basis? Now, this tells me one thing and one thing only: it is time to get those optimized listings live and secure those Q4 sales. So, in today's video, I'm going to go through six different items that performed really well last year. The parameters that I personally put on

today were from September through December of 2023, hence why we are talking about this in July. Because what I want you guys to do is get your listings live about 60 days before the surge of sales actually takes place. We're also going to talk about a strategy that you could use to think outside of the box of what kinds of items you should be putting in your shop to prepare for Q3 and Q4. Guys ready? Let's Dive In [Music]. So the first thing I want to focus on really quickly is thinking about your strategy for the holiday season. First and foremost, we have to understand that obviously Christmas is the biggest holiday to purchase for, but it's not the only holiday that takes place in Q4. So I highly recommend taking a look at the link in our description where I've actually listed quarter over quarter lesser-known and obviously the more well-known holidays so you can maybe tap into an untapped market. By the way, since you are watching this video in July, you're also going to see some holidays.

for July, August, and September in there as well. Second thing I want you guys to think about is the strategy for what you want to actually publish in your store. The first thing I want you to ask yourself is who will be bought for. Obviously, Christmas is the season of giving, so who is going to be purchased for. Secondly, I want you to think who is buying for that person. These are going to help us figure out the keywords that we want to use and different ways to create our titles, our listing photos, and our listing descriptions to be able to speak to both of those people, the purchaser and the gifted. Last but not least, I want you to think about what that person wants. So what types of items, what types of designs, what types of aesthetics is the first person going to want or expect from their second person, The Gift Giver. And if you can find a way to make those items evergreen items, so it's not just something that someone would purchase during the Christmas holiday season, you're in for a real

treat the rest of the year as well. Next up, let's go through those six items that performed best last year that have a unique take on the market. First up, if you see the search that I completed, I simply typed in the word Christmas, and you'll also be able to see I put a filter of the listing age at 9 months maximum. The reason I did this is I wanted to look at everything that was listed from September of 2023 to today that utilized the word Christmas. So, the first one I want to look at today is actually going to be a group item. If you've been watching the channel for the past couple of weeks, I love talking about group listings, bundle listings, and set listings because you can actually create more sales that way by encouraging someone to purchase more than one item at one time. Here's a quick example of someone that did an awesome job last year of family shirts to wear on Christmas morning, to wear to your family Christmas party, or quite frankly, to wear throughout the entire month of

December, as you can see, this listing has only been alive for 9 months, but it got 7,000 sales. Now, I don't know exactly when those 7,000 sales took place, and if we take the lowest amount possible at $89.99, multiply that by the $7.19, that means this seller has made over $63,000 from this group listing. And again, like I've said in the past, the reason more than likely why this is the case is because the dad is not just buying the dad's shirt; the dad is also buying the mom's shirt, the kids' shirt, the teenager shirt, and the baby onesie to be able to increase that seller's customer lifetime order value at one time. Next up is talking to our handmade sellers. So, this is a really cute handmade wooden clip-on Cardinal, which, as you can see, they are utilizing to be clipped onto a Christmas tree. But something that's cool about this particular item is it can literally be used all year as well. So, not only is

this is something that someone might want to put on their tree when the time comes. It can be something they use every single Christmas as a decoration, but it also might be something that they can clip onto a location in their home all year long. This item, again, was listed 9 months ago, so people are doing this by September, which is the reason we are hitting you with this video so early. They make over $114,000 of estimated monthly revenue at $3,500 total sales. Next up is a super easy crew neck, and the good news about an item like this is you can actually place this same kind of collegiate design that's built for Christmas on a t-shirt, on a tumbler, on a hoodie. There are so many different ways that this could go, and it's a very simplistic, easy design. It just has a very light vintage feel to it. Something like this can be built from print-on-demand sellers and handmade sellers, and of course, for our digital sellers, you could also create a PNG or SVG version of this particular

design and then sell it to other sellers who are looking to place it on an item. As you can see, this has made over 3,700 sales, and it's been alive for 8 months. Let's assume again that they are doing a 60% off sale all year long, including Christmas. That means this item has made almost $50,000 in itself. Next one I want to get into is ornaments, but in this case, we're not going to make a standard Christmas ornament. We are going to make a personalized ornament for a pet owner. This was super hot in 2023. I know from experience because I made a lot of sales on something just like this. And as you can see, it is a personalized option, but the design is very simplistic and easy to replicate. This is perfect for our handmade sellers and our print-on-demand sellers. We made over 9,600 sales of this particular item, which again, if we were to take the 50% off sale that they currently have and applied that to the entire year, they

have made almost 100 grand from this ornament alone. Speaking of ornaments, a little secret I wanted to share with you guys that made me the bulk amount of my money on my Etsy shop in Q4 of 2023 is ornament sets. So, like we talked about earlier, I love sets, I love bundles, I love group listings, and this is no different. The cool thing about those as well is I did not have to edit any of them. I simply just offered five ornaments, ten ornaments, or fifteen ornament sets based on how many they needed for their tree. This is a deep, deep secret, and I hope you guys love it because I'm going to do the exact same thing this year, and I highly recommend you looking into it as well. Also, if you are a handmade ornament seller, this is a really good example of an incredible glass-blown item. It has been alive for 22 months and made over 1,000 sales during that period, which I just see surging as we get closer to the date.

but if you are looking to do print on demand, there are plenty of pod providers that will actually do ornaments individually as well as sets of ornaments for you. Last but not least, this one absolutely cracked me up. It is literally an elf kit. This did so well in 2023, I mean an average of $3,000 per month, that there's actually a pre-order listing right now in the month of July that is already making $20,000 a month. So if you, my beautiful handmade sellers, or anybody else who's looking to test this out, have not thought about an elf kit or something that someone could use as a kit during the Christmas season to hang out with their family, play with their kids, this might be something for you to start researching now to get ready for the holiday season.
