from high-end OLED TVs to more affordable screens that use mini LED tech here are the best TVs of 2024. We've reviewed and tested TVs in our lab using a combination of objective measurements and side-by-side comparisons watching TV shows and movies.

As a result of these tests we've selected the best TVs to fit your needs. Our choices are all TVs that we highly recommend across a range of budgets, focused on models with very good picture quality. Check out our best TVs list on scena for other options. I'm going to

start with my favorite TV of 2024, which also happens to be the most expensive TV on this list. If you can afford it, however, this Samsung sure is sweet. It's an OLED TV, so it delivers better picture quality than non-OLED models, and it also

happens to be the brightest OLED TV we've ever tested. What sets the S95D apart, however, is its matte screen. All other OLED TVs have glossy screens, so they will reflect bright lights, windows, and other objects that can be distracting in a bright room. The S95D

however, has a screen that cancels those reflections more effectively than any other OLED TV I've tested. There's a trade-off in bright room contrast, but overall the S95D's image quality in both well-lit and darker home theater environments is as good as it gets. Add

to that its unique design, which incorporates a very thin panel and a separate box for inputs and of course all the features I expect at the high-end, and you have the best TV of the year. Next up is a TV that costs a bit

less but can still be considered high-end, the LG C4 uses OLED technology as well, and while it lacks the brightness of the Samsung and has a more traditional glossy screen, it's still superb in our side-by-side comparisons. The C4 delivered amazing contrast and

overall punch as well as the excellent color and off-angle performance I expect from OLED. One reason I like the C4 is the fact that it comes in a wider range of screen sizes than any other OLED TV in addition to the 65-inch model seen here.

It's available in sizes from 42 up to 86 inches. It's a very thin TV as well, especially on the top edge, and LG's unique composite fiber construction makes it lighter than other TVs of its size. That said, the design is basically identical to last year's model and

pretty much all screen, and that's not a bad thing. So what if you don't want to spend the money for an OLED TV? Many LED models offer excellent images as well for less money, especially in larger screen sizes. The TCL QM8 is the best

performing mini LED TV we've tested in 2024. The key is the sheer number of those LEDs, up to 5,000 for the largest sizes. They allow the QM8 to get brighter than just about any other TV for an image that really impressed reviewer Tai

Pendlebury. He lauded its attention-grabbing colors and contrast but noted that it wasn't as accurate as some competitors. Like many TVs, the TCL uses the Google TV operating system for streaming, which works well, although Tai noted that it can look a little busy on

screen. It supports 4K 120Hz input for gaming and overall its bright picture made it a favorite of ours for video games as well. One downside is that you can't get the QM8 in sizes any smaller than 65 inches. On the other hand, it does

come in a 98-inch option just in case you have the room and the budget. Finally, there's the Hisense U8K Mini LED TV. The least expensive TV on this list, it still has a very good picture thanks again to Mini LED technology. The 65-inch

size we reviewed cost less than $900 now and can go even less during sales. And for that amount of money, it's tough to find a better picture. In comparing it to the TCL, Tai noted the Hisense's image didn't appear quite as bright or punchy

and details and shadows were somewhat obscured in high dynamic range, but it was still very good. Unlike the TCL, this Hisense actually comes in a 55-inch size too, making it a better fit for smaller rooms, and it maxes out at 85 inches. The

operating system is Google TV again, and all the gaming features are present and accounted for. If you don't want to spend the money to step up to the TCL or one of the OLED models, the Hisense U8K is an excellent choice. And that's it for
