all right, so the title of this video is a bit dramatic, but I promise you there's going to be enough juice in this story to make it worth it. As you can see, this room is pretty empty right now because I sold everything. I'm about to move, and I have to go ship this chair right now to New York and bringing him with me. Oh, before I tell you guys why I quit my job, quick recap on who I am just in case you forgot. I'm Pan, I'm a software engineer, YouTuber, and I'm 6'5. I had many internships; my last one was at this little small unknown and extremely ethical company called Facebook. They gave me a full-time return offer, then said never mind as I was graduating. So I was, as I was grinding in the gutter, I moved to California with my friend Daniel. You might have seen him in my past videos. Now, don't get me wrong, I had a great time here. I felt like an old married couple with my roommate, just going to work and coming back home and my cat's.

[ __ ] on my bed, and he's making me food, and you know life is good when traveling to LA. My last Vlog hiking, you know the average technology brother thing. It wasn't even that bad. Like I actually enjoyed it. I had a good time. Obviously, I had a hefty salary as well. I know that's probably the reason half you idiots are here. You want to know the number. I get it. And it was. I'll tell you guys. It was around 350 TC, and with stock appreciation, it was basically 400. And I quit that. Am I stupid? Oh, here's the plan. We're gonna put this chair in the shopping cart, and we're gonna push it all the way to UPS, which is like 10 minutes from here. Let's see if this fits. That's what she said. [ __ ] we're good. I found the work I was doing. They're super interesting too. If you guys know, I'm a post that kind of guy, right? So I was able to touch upon it.

all like react python kubernetes product management sequel everything and and it was in the AI space as well. It was doing the AI hype and I I quit that. I quit that. Am I stupid uh The UPS Store we got to get this in um hopefully it'll be less than uh 500 bucks mmm. The co-workers I had there were the smartest and most passionate people I've ever met. Usually people work at some social media company as they make a button here. Actually nobody really cares. Nobody cares here. I actually felt like people had a soul. They had some passion like Monkey D Luffy. You guys know what I mean like like me all right. I'm Luffy. Yeah there's actually a lot of things I still wanted to learn from my co-workers there but I quit that job am I stupid all right let's get this uh chair shift is here all right so am I stupid for quitting this job no okay I'm not stupid or maybe I am okay who cares it doesn't matter at the end of the day you gotta

live life the way you need to, and I say you need to because it's kind of why I quit this job. I felt like I had no other choice. Remember at the beginning when I said I was a software engineer and a YouTuber? Well, I was actually doing YouTube way before I even knew what coding was, ever since I was eight years old. And maybe it's just making some stupid videos and something I'll grow out of. And to be honest, I've kind of been growing out of the content I used to make. I don't really want to make those as much anymore, but the point is I need to know for sure. Like, if I don't want to do YouTube anymore, it's because I really don't want to, and not because of reasons like time, location, or because someone else told me not to, or just fear, right? Any reasons I'm not satisfied with. But yeah, like I said, I had a really great time working there, but when it came to the time of decision, I just had to go. Like, it just

didn't really have a choice. When the actual time of decision came, it was really quick for me. I was like, Okay, I'm going, I'm leaving. And I think, like, even if I'm going to, you know, not make it on this YouTube or fail on this YouTube stuff, or give up on it later, I need to do that on my own terms. I need to fail on my own terms. And I think at this point, this is just who I am as a person because this is not the first time I'm doing something like this. When I graduated from high school, before computer science, I chose to go study acting in Asia for a whole year before I did CS after that. And that's a whole different story, which I'll tell in a later video. Subscribe. But what I'm trying to say is, I think you can do all the planning in the world, you know, list all the pros and cons, but at some point, it doesn't matter anymore because the choice was already made, like all along maybe or somewhere along the way.

You know, like maybe someone else did this and it's like it was not a rational choice and they messed up. Or you know, somebody wiser who tells you this toward that. And it just, you know, sometimes you just gotta do it yourself. Like you gotta, you gotta experience it, be the one, you know, writing your story, right? Your Own Story, be the narrator, writing the pen. I also feel somewhat confident in my coding skills now that I can, you know, probably just find another job. Caveat, caveat. I, I, I did say this title was a bit dramatic, and that's because I'm not completely jobless. I did find another job, but this one does not pay nowhere near the same amount as my previous salary. It's a huge pay cut, but it's way more flexible, so I'll have more time to do my content stuff here. I'm also moving to New York, and I realize with my new salary, I can barely afford rent. But

that's also because New York rent is kind of crazy right now. They're basically selling a rad house for 3K a month. Like what the [ __ ]. I actually don't have a place to stay there right now, uh, but I'm moving there this week so I'll be homeless. Yes, I'm going from 400k to homeless. I'm so excited. Let's go. I'll most likely be living on Friends' couches for a little bit, so if you're a friend and you see this, please, please, I'm begging. Look, it's so funny how I was like begging for jobs just like a few months ago, and now I went from that to begging for a place to live. All right, so so what can you guys expect from this channel onwards? You know, I actually thought about that for a long while, and the short answer is I don't know, but I'll try to uphold certain values here, and that is to try to be inspiring, helpful, entertaining, uh, some level of self-improvement, and to stay true to

oneself as much as possible, and I think if I'm able to do that, I'll be happy. I don't know how I'm gonna balance all of this stuff, but I guess we're here to find out. I'll be documenting my journey here as an engineer and as a human of life.
