It's because there's no need to study more obvious parts. We measured the exposure, and it's written in English. It's a bit small, but it means we measured the exposure. Furthermore, if we look at this, Professor Kim, who is with the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Corporation, has found that exposure to noise from sirens, engines, and fire hoses can be reduced to below 90 to 110 decibels, but in most cases, it exceeds 115 to 118 decibels, which is a high level of exposure. Through research, it was found that the characteristics of noise-induced hearing loss are much worse than in the general population, almost to the extent of being unbearable. However, while looking for articles, I discovered an even more surprising fact.

The fire truck siren is getting louder. It was mentioned that there was a problem because the sound was a bit short when it was lowered by 10 decibels according to the fire truck specifications. So, it was said that it would be further reduced by more than 120 decibels to 520 decibels. This could be a problem in the hometown. The effect can be significant externally when dispatched, but the problem for the firefighters inside can be significant. The risk can increase, and another thing, the last part now, on March 28th, there was a good news article. Have any of you seen it? It's an article about cars. So far, firefighters have been exposed to noise and suffering. Is there a case where occupational injury, in other words, noise-induced occupational injury, has been recognized here? Why not recognize it? As I mentioned earlier, there is no legal noise standard.

We applied the standards in the Industrial Safety and Health Act very strictly, even though it may not be an exaggeration, excessive noise that can have a significant impact on health can still be derived. Due to being overly conservative, so far, despite many firefighters and others coming out, there has never been a single properly recognized case. Therefore, the same goes for the two minutes, when the sirens and all the firefighting exposures occurred, even for two minutes, it was very tough. We are in charge of industrial safety and health, but since public officials manage it separately, the criteria for recognizing work-related injuries are somewhat different. So, when you see that it is somewhat different, please consider it differently. We applied for it, but as expected, we always receive rejections. Why is it so difficult to recognize noise-induced hearing loss?

I acknowledged that it's not that loud, but Japan disagreed and went through administrative litigation. However, they lost in the administrative litigation as well. They worked hard, but still couldn't get the acknowledgment. However, even in the retrial, the first acknowledgment was made just a few days ago on March 28th. It's the first time this has happened, which is quite unfortunate on one hand, but on the other hand, it gives a bit of hope. This is a significant achievement, as it has turned the tide and succeeded up to the second trial. Therefore, this will remain as an important precedent. In the future, if there is recognition for firefighters suffering from hearing loss, and once that recognition is granted, things will change. Once the first acknowledgment is made, there will be awareness of the fact that it exists.

I will think about ways to pour a lot of effort into prevention, how to reduce exposure to wishes, how to avoid it when the siren is raised significantly in the fire truck, or if there is a way to use appropriate protection, such as LG-grade in cases like this, and various causes are now being identified, adjusted, treated, and prevented. It is difficult to understand the essence of it, so I hope that research and development will progress a lot in the future. It is regrettable that it is just the beginning, but even at this late stage, I hope that more people will show interest. It may be a difficult and disease-related issue, but I am grateful for everyone's interest and attention to education.
