The first step in using a manual defibrillator is to turn on the power button. The power button is mostly in dial form, so you just need to turn it to the monitor on position. If the button is already on, you can press the part that says monitor on. The second step is to attach the leads. The leads are composed of three parts: white, black, and red. If it's white, place it on the right shoulder, if it's black, on the left shoulder, and the last one, red, should be placed on the lower left side.

When attaching the defibrillator, visually confirm the patient's rhythm. The rhythm of the patient is ventricular fibrillation as seen now. Defibrillation is needed. I will proceed with defibrillation. Next, separate the hands. Sometimes, on each pad, there are writings like sternum apex. There are also models that show the position of the sternum and the apex on the left side with illustrations like this model. Please select the energy. For now, let's set it to 150 joules. If you are unsure about the model, you can choose the most common energy, which is 200 joules. Next, apply enough gel on both pads. When using gel, it should be applied sufficiently to prevent the patient from getting burned. [MUSIC] Then, evenly apply and attach it so that it sticks well. Now, press the charge button. The charge button is also on your apex pads or on the machine.

Sometimes there are separate buttons. I will press the charging button on your AED pad. When you press it, you will hear a sound like this when it charges. Charging is complete. Place the AED pad on the appropriate location, put about 10 kilograms of weight on both pads, then make sure everyone moves away. Follow my lead. 1. I moved away. 2. Please move away as well. Now, we have all moved away. After saying clear, press both buttons at the same time. Next, start CPR including chest compressions. So far, you have learned adult CPR. What if the collapsed person is a child? In the case of a child, you will also use a manual defibrillator.

However, in the case of children and infants, their bodies are small, so when using adult pads, the size is too big. Therefore, we have hidden infant pads inside the adult pads. Now, let me briefly show you how to use the infant pads. It is easier to find than you think. First, if you look at the top of both pads, you will see a handle attached. Lift this handle upwards, and you will see a cute infant seat. The positioning of the infant pads is the same as for adults. Place the pads on the right side, next to the right hip and the right rib cage. Also, make sure to position the apex paddles on the inside of the 5-axis paddles. However, there is one major difference. The paddles have a different shape. Secondly, you need to adjust the energy according to the child's weight. Usually, for adults, the energy is set regardless of weight, but for children and infants, you should start from 2 joules or 4 joules, depending on the weight.

I will calculate by multiplying the weight. For example, if the child is 10 kilograms, when multiplied by 2, it will be 20 lines of setting. And if it's 15 kilograms, setting it at 50 lines will be appropriate.
