Ultra ego is a great transformation, but its introduction was poorly executed. Its buildup was something to behold, though, as Vegeta continued his training on Beerus's planet in pursuit of the power of a God of Destruction. During this time, Beerus went on to question Vegeta about the sins of his past, prompting the Saiyan Prince to admit that the Saiyans were destined to be eradicated for their crimes. Beerus, finding this idea absurd, overpowered Vegeta, asserting that as long as doubt burdened his soul, the power of Destruction would never be his to wield. He went on to motivate the Saiyan to battle by admitting that he was the one who authorized the destruction of his home world, triggering Vegeta's anger and third battle with the God of Destruction. Though Vegeta didn't stand a chance, his loss proved to be a lesson, Beerus revealing that in order for Vegeta to unlock greater power, he needed to completely dedicate himself to a destroyer's mindset, shattering any stray thoughts and recreating himself.

Ultra ego is a state attained by one who's received proper training from a God of destruction and has gained the ability to use the powers of one. However, the heightened battle lust required for this state can cause the user, AKA Vegeta, to act recklessly. During his battle with granola, Vegeta willingly took major damage to fuel his battle drive. Though he allegedly became stronger as a result, this backfired on him as he sustained too much physical damage to continue fighting effectively. It wasn't long before he nearly lost consciousness, long before granola had reached his peak, prompting him to unleash a sphere of destruction that served to unlock more of the cilan's power. Vegeta was soon defeated and confronted granola on his grudge with the saans, highlighting yet another issue with ultra ego. I explained earlier that the state could be achieved by receiving instruction from a destroyer, but it can only be utilized when the user is in the right mindset to.

Acting as one, Vegeta, toward the end of his battle, attempted to reason with Granola, reverting back to his talk of the Saiyans once being evil and noting that he wouldn't object to joining them in death. This very mindset is what Beerus warned Vegeta about early on, as wielding the power of destruction wouldn't be suited for him under those circumstances. As Vegeta noted, Ultra Ego reaches its peak when one abandons their full morality, akin to when he was possessed by Babidi in Dragon Ball Z and reverted to his evil ways. The problem with this is that Vegeta has been changed by Goku's influence over the years, now a family man and protector of the Earth. Taking this into consideration, completely abandoning the thoughts of his years of character development to attain the power of a destroyer God might not be suited for him, unless he can develop his own version of the technique, similar to Goku with true Ultra Instinct. Vegeta's current battle with Ultra Ego is finding a balance between power and damage control.

and so Vegeta continued his training in the ways of a destroyer, earning the respect of Beerus, who gifted him an earring as a symbol of those who could use such a technique. Vegeta later encountered the Saiyan granola after the latter's defeat of Goku, initially struggling in Super Saiyan Blue, but holding his own enough to last in the fight, confident that the battle would eventually tip in his favor. Vegeta noted that Gran's title of the universe's strongest was just that, going on to say that he'd already grown more powerful. In response, granola sought to end the battle quickly using a pressure attack that knocked Vegeta to base form and spewed blood from him. The battle appeared to be over, but Vegeta gave us one of the greatest buildups to a transformation, stating that this time there was nothing to stop him from going all out, providing the perfect opportunity to remain immersed in battle. He then transformed and assumed the form of Ultra Ego, quickly overwhelming granola for the better half of their
