what exactly is Etsy SEO? If you've been doing any type of research on how to bring in more sales in your Etsy shop, I know you've seen the term Etsy SEO all over the place. So, let's break it down. SEO stands for search engine optimization, and simply put, Etsy SEO is the process of optimizing your listings to make them more visible to shoppers when they use the Etsy search engine. When a potential Etsy buyer goes to Etsy to look for the product that you're selling, you want your listing to pop up in the Etsy search results. It's all about getting your products in front of the right audience. There are lots of moving pieces when it comes to Etsy SEO, but on a basic level, it means putting the right keywords in your title, description, and tags, and ensuring your photos and overall shop appearance are professional and inviting. Keywords are the backbone of Etsy SEO. So, what exactly is a keyword? Keywords are words or phrases that an Etsy buyer might enter into the Etsy search bar when searching for a particular product. Keyword research means finding

the right mix of keywords to add to your listings that match what buyers would enter into the Etsy search bar. To do this, start by thinking like your customer. What words would they enter into the Etsy search bar to find your product? Etsy's own search suggestions are a great starting point. You can also use a tool like Everbee. Everbee is a Chrome extension that connects to Etsy, and it gives you information on Etsy listings. With Everbee, you can see what listings are selling, and you can see what keywords are being used on those listings. Once you've identified your main keywords, you're going to sprinkle them lightly throughout your title, your description, and your tags. Beyond keywords, you need to make sure your listings are fully optimized. This means using all 13 tags that you're using, relevant categories, and that your listing photos are high quality. And this is a big one: your first image is the first thing a potential buyer sees when

they find your listing. You want to make sure this is your best photo and that it quickly grabs the attention of your potential buyers. It's not enough to just show up in Etsy search; you need buyers to click in your listings and then purchase. If your first image is not eye-catching, this is going to limit your sales. One aspect of Etsy SEO that's often overlooked is keeping your shop active. Sometimes renewing listings can give them a little boost, but I have heard conflicting opinions about this. I also recommend adding new listings to your shop often. I know that when I add new listings to my shop, I start seeing an influx of sales, not necessarily on the new listing, but on some of my other listings. And don't forget to monitor your shop's performance. Etsy gives you analytics, and you can use those analytics to see which keywords are working, so you can go in and make necessary changes.
