This means that the flower specifically selects certain flies, searching for a dedicated fly that will carry its pollen.

However, there are also flowers in our country that have similar mechanisms.

Nine percent of organisms are insects. They exist in diverse places, as numerous as the species themselves, and there are flies in areas where bees and birds do not live. Mushrooms are also a favorite food of flies. There are enough flies that particularly enjoy mushrooms to have a specific type known as mushroom flies. Flies gather to eat the mycelium of mushrooms. One flower observed this scene for a long time. Humans, too, are drawn to the petals of the flower. This flower, resembling a mushroom, mimics not only the shape but also the scent of mushrooms. However, what most flies prefer is something different. The abundant food attracts flies of all sexes. In this place, flies eat, mate, and lay eggs. The name of this flower is the same as the name of the bird, and it resembles not only the colors of the paradise flycatcher but also its wings when they are spread.

The Gwangneung yoke flower is a native species of East Asia and is classified as a first-grade endangered plant. It has unique petals that resemble a bowl or a jar. In the center of the flower, there is a hole, and inside that hole, there is a yellow spot that looks like pollen. At the top of the flower, there is another hole, next to which is the real pollen. 

What is noteworthy is the transparent window located at the back of the flower, which allows light to pass through. When a bee approaches the flower, it is first guided inside. The flower has a purple entrance that is easily visible to bees. 

When a bee lands at the entrance, it will see the yellow spot that resembles food. The bee enters without hesitation. However, the entrance narrows as it goes deeper, making it possible to enter but not to exit. The bee becomes trapped in this structure.

At the center of the flower, we are overflowing, and the birds have an easy time understanding it. Preparing satisfying food for the birds and reading their movements to become a bird—this is a way to entice them. Cows search for grass and move around, but there is another being that makes them move. It’s a fly that weighs less than 5 grams, yet it can keep a 500-kilogram cow constantly on the move. Flies flap their wings 600 times per second, instantly changing direction and gaining speed, making them a challenging presence for cows. The only defense mechanism cows have is their tails, which are used for balance or direction changes, like a fly swatter. In areas with many pests, the tails tend to be longer. Persistent and relentless, flies possess the skills that plants desire to transfer pollen. There are 15,000 species of flies, which account for 15% of insect species.

However, plants cannot move on their own. Although it is not visible, there is surely an existing wind energy that coniferous trees possess, and they wait for this energy. They release pollen into the wind to send it to the female cones. However, they cannot simply wait indefinitely, as they do not know when the wind will blow. Therefore, plants also create their own wind. This process occurs in just one-hundredth of a second. To block the wind, plants can even grow to heights where the wind blows. 

And the efforts to catch the wind continue in unseen places. There is a unique mechanism with spores that aids in this process. The spores are attached to four strings called tans. Normally, the tans are contracted, but they change when they dry out. They expand and create gaps between the spores to capture more wind.

The carbonated drink not only acts as a gap for spores but also plays the role of a pinwheel for your skin. The hidden effort of the spores, however, cannot fly without the wind. Nutrient-rich investments only serve as food for snails. You never know when the wind might blow. Therefore, friends look for more reliable and diligent workers. The hometown of this plant is the highlands of South America. Tomatoes have been cultivated for consumption since the early 17th century. However, artificial pollination was difficult due to the absence of visible stamens with pollen. People discovered a new fact at the tip of their tongues. It was found that the frequency of about 358 Hz vibrates and causes the release of pollen. This frequency matches the flapping frequency of bees' wings, allowing only bees to collect the pollen. The flowers on the moon are obscured by leaves and are not easily visible from the outside. So, during the blooming season, the flowers release chemical substances. The leaves that cover the flowers detect this smell and transform, becoming white petals. However, the discolored leaves cannot perform photosynthesis. This means they become hungry. Nevertheless, the flowers choose to sacrifice for visibility, even if it makes them hungry. The desire to succeed in mating is as strong in plants as it is in animals. Plant mating involves transferring pollen through the stamens and pistils.

It is found on a corpse, so the fabric that seeks to thrive is indifferent to the corpse. The parasitic plant Rafflesia, which has no leaves or stems, also produces flowers for reproduction. The enormous corpse flower, which can reach about a meter in size, mimics the rotten flesh to attract flies. The flowers that imitate corpses are found in various regions. Stapelia gigantea, which grows in dry areas, has fewer bees, so it blooms dark red flowers to attract flies. 

Stapelia has even paid attention to the details. Inside the flower, there are hairs that mimic animal corpses. This flower emits a smell so foul that it would wrinkle anyone's nose, but to flies, it is a long-lasting fragrance. Countless flowers are trying to attract flies through various strategies. Surviving in this competition means taking paths that others might not choose.

The strength of the compression is proportional to the size of the flower, which can take your breath away. At this time, the flower emits heat of about 36 degrees. The heat creates an updraft, and the odor is introduced as a 3-meter column. Thanks to the heat and the size of the flower, the smell spreads up to a radius of 1 kilometer, attracting all the surrounding flies. 

To prepare for the influx of flies, the flower has many stamens and pistils. The upper part is the pistil, and the lower part is the stamen. Ultimately, the pollen is used to fertilize another flower's pistil, exploiting the male's desire to mate.

Right now, there is a flower stalk that is 3 meters tall. This place is quite special. Seven years ago, this flower stalk was ordinary, a seedling about 30 cm tall with five leaves. As the years went by, the number of leaves increased, and the tree grew taller. As it grew, it stored all the nutrients in its roots. After the roots fully developed, the tree part fell over, and there was nothing left of the fallen part. The nutrients accumulated over seven years are now stored in the roots. The diameter of the roots is about 1 meter, and they weigh an astonishing 100 kilograms. Why has this plant been accumulating nutrients for seven years? After about four months of dormancy, the reason becomes clear. At a height of 3.5 meters, it has the largest flower on Earth, which is why it has stored nutrients for seven years. However, this gigantic flower attracts only small flies. To gather them, it emits a smell reminiscent of a corpse, just as its name suggests.

Bees are attracted to flowers, especially in Australia, where the peppers are famous. However, bees find it difficult to feed on them because they are hidden deep within the flower, and only animals with long beaks and developed feeding mechanisms can access them. This includes the honey-eater bird. The bird observes the bees that are attached to the flowers.

Birds enjoy eating insects, but for the honey-eater, bees are merely a nuisance because the nectar is incredibly abundant. The large size of the flowers provides enough nectar to satisfy the birds, which is a fundamental condition for birds to act as pollinators. The birds must also be able to read the movements of the flowers.

These flowers also contain plenty of nectar. They grow about 50 cm above ground, at a height that matches the eye level of the birds flying in the forest. Additionally, the flowers provide a stable landing space and structure for the birds.
