Now, we have another worksheet. Let's find the positive aspects of our friends, the potential they possess, and the excellence they hold. We always criticized them, but let's try to identify their positive sides. So, we write about that. We keep writing until we get back to our own thoughts. If we have six people in a group, I think it's really good. In such cases, I always make sure to gather six people who can work well together in a group. Then, there is one last line left. For this, I suggest that we fill it in by saying something like, If there were more of this in our class, our grade, our school, or our country, it would be healthier and happier. Let's express that.

Then, if we fill 25 spaces, it gets packed. Yes, it really fills up. This is all related to people. After that, I ask them to circle the one that excites them the most, and we start from that. Since the kids don’t know how to form sentences, there are about 70 words. So, I call out the meanings, and they have to guess what they mean. When someone guesses correctly, I throw them candy. This time, I guide them to the correct answers in that way. I specifically choose words that are really necessary for teenagers and only ask about those words. In the classroom, there are dreams, hopes, cooperation, unity, fairness, and empathy. We also need to improve language and culture, and it seems that everything is relevant to that time. So, when the kids match up, we talk about it. Oh, those who have a positive attitude, draw a circle. Those who can cooperate, draw a circle. However, there are sighs, and they say things like, I have no cooperation, I have no challenges, I have no dreams. They express these feelings. But even when they say that, they don't realize how happy they are. Sometimes, I even interview the class president. I ask, What do you think would be good for our class? and they mention what is truly needed, like cooperation. Then, when I ask, What would be good for our class today? they talk about moderation, saying things like, It would be good if we didn't have smoking. And we discuss these things as we approach the end of the class.

After stopping, we talk about what we've done so far. I suggest that we choose three things that we feel are essential for ourselves. So, we select three items and emphasize that the words are very important, writing them down twice below. I declare that Jeong Yoo-jin is an insightful, positive, and collaborative person, and I also love the phrase 1, 2, 3, 3, 1, 2, 3, so I shout that out as well. Then, I propose that we choose just one from these and write our own names. For example, like Curious Jeong Yoo-jin, we could do something like Collaborative Yoo-jin. However, as I get older, I find myself disliking my personality more and more, often blaming my upbringing and my parents for it. Reflecting on fights with friends and my ex-boyfriend, I feel like I was the cause of all those conflicts. It seems like my relationships have been suffering for about four to five years now. The most important thing, in my opinion, can be summarized in three points. First, self-achievement may seem trivial, but the effort you put in to achieve something on your own is crucial for boosting your self-esteem. Second, receiving positive feedback from those around you about your achievements further enhances your self-esteem. However, as Director Yang Jae-yong mentioned earlier, an imbalance can arise when a person hasn't accomplished much on their own but is constantly told, You're amazing, You're wonderful, or You're a prince/princess. This kind of feedback can lead children to genuinely believe they are princes or princesses. As they receive this feedback from their parents, they might think they are exceptional, and when they enter a small society like school or face real social situations, they encounter a harsh reality.

If one realizes that they are not as capable as they thought, it can lead to a situation where they cannot rise from their setbacks. Many people experience challenges in social life after facing a setback, and they lack the resilience to get back up afterward. Once they go through such experiences, they often avoid social interactions and relationships altogether. This connects to the stories we discussed earlier. 

The third point, which is perhaps the easiest to approach, is volunteering and donating. Although these actions are for others, they significantly help boost one's self-esteem. When someone recognizes and needs you, your self-esteem increases greatly. Therefore, engaging in volunteer activities or small acts of kindness...

One of the easiest ways to boost one's self-esteem is through the consistent act of donating money. Ultimately, it benefits others while also helping oneself, creating a mutually beneficial situation. Engaging in such altruistic acts is indeed a very good method for enhancing one's self-esteem. However, many people, despite performing well in their assigned tasks or academics, still struggle with low self-esteem. The reason for this often lies in the issue of direction. It makes a significant difference whether I am doing what I want or simply conforming to what others expect of me. I believe that self-efficacy and autonomy are the most important factors. It is crucial to set one's own goals and work towards achieving them.

I believe that the process of building self-esteem is very important. The point that Director Yang Jae mentioned is crucial. In a way, what we learn in school is about interpersonal relationships and the ability to adapt to society. Studying is important, but in South Korea, when we talk about studying, it's often focused solely on preparing for exams like the college entrance exam or internal assessments. However, working hard in sports is also a form of study, and engaging earnestly in artistic activities like painting is a way to enhance self-esteem. Unfortunately, many students are pushed in one direction without even knowing what they truly want. This reality of education in Korea leads to a situation where students often have low self-esteem from a young age. They end up having to do things that they are not particularly good at or interested in, which makes it hard for them to recognize their own strengths.

Even if I can't do well, and I feel no sense of achievement in what I'm doing, the possibility of raising my self-esteem decreases. I think that I am not someone with high self-esteem. I feel really good when I think that I am a useful person to someone. So, I strive to become a more useful person. The reason I aim to be someone who has a positive influence on others, and who is useful to someone, is because that is the direction I have set for myself. I believe that in the process of fulfilling that, my self-esteem is increasing. In fact, I wasn't someone with high self-esteem either. There have been a few turning points or good opportunities to upgrade my self-esteem, which I can say have come during my formal education and training process.

I have made a lot of effort to transform myself to the point of being born again. I know this may sound somewhat worldly, but I have worked hard at the hospital and improved my socioeconomic status, which cannot be overlooked. Another point is that I became famous through broadcasting. More than that, the fact that many people respond to what I say and that it helps them is actually a very important point for me. Additionally, I have tried very hard to live according to the words I speak. In fact, living as I say is truly difficult; I know because I have tried it. Nevertheless, I have put in a lot of effort, and through that effort, I have come to recognize myself as someone who strives to keep the promises I make, which has significantly boosted my self-esteem.

I think so. Right now, I’m not someone with very high self-esteem, but compared to the past, it has definitely improved a lot, and I can say that I’m trying to make it even higher. It’s okay to have a lot of homework and to be angry. Increase your confidence; it’s okay. You are definitely okay. That inferiority complex will ultimately help you grow more. You never know what will happen in 10 or 20 years. You need to look at life from a long-term perspective. A negative evaluation of yourself in that moment will never ruin you.
