hi guys, welcome to another all things tennis racket review. Today, we're looking at the much-coveted E Zone 98, the 2022 edition. Liam here is going to give us his thoughts on the frame. [Music] So, those who have been following the channel already know that Liam uses the V Core, the V Core 95 to be precise. We're going to be focusing on the E Zone 98 today, so it's slightly bigger head size to what you're normally using, 305 grams, and a 16-19 pattern. How did you get on with the frame? Yeah, really easy power from the baseline, and actually, the control wasn't too bad. I didn't feel like the power sort of overshot, overshone through. I wasn't hitting too many balls long, and I thought it was pretty straightforward to get a lot of spin on the ball as well, so just add into the control. So, Liam's actually reasonably familiar with the E Zone frame. He's used the generation prior to this one. There's

some technical things they've done differently in this frame, so they've flattened this part of the beam here. It's a little bit flatter, okay. It's slightly more aerodynamic, and it's a slightly thicker frame as well. Did you feel any differences on this model compared to the one you trained very previously? I think the one I had previously was slightly more difficult to control the ball with, so I think they've got that balance of power control a lot better with this version. I think that would probably be the main difference with that, really. So, yeah, they've nailed the balance with this one. So, how does this compare that on ground storage to your vehicle 95? I imagine you've got a little bit more extra power on tap here. Yeah, definitely more power. I feel like it's easier. It would spin with my v-core, but if I'm, you know, if I'm hitting the ball a bit flatter, then this racket is definitely better for that, I think. Okay, yeah, interestingly.

the v-core is kind of Yonex's super spin-friendly racket. This e-zone, however, I think is really easy to hit spin with. I don't think you have a massive decrease in spin potential. You've seen the players that are using on the tour. Your chapel valves now using the e-zone rather than the v-core. You've got Caspar Ruud, obviously French Open finalist, hits with heavy topspin, is using the e-zone frame as well. So, it's definitely one for the spin-friendly hitters out there as well. Okay, so in terms of then ground strokes, we talked about you had nice easy power on tap, nice to hit flat as well when you're moving forward for approaches. Did you feel easy to come in as well? Yeah, yeah, pretty easy again. Racket wasn't too overpowered, so I wasn't sort of spraying those approaches long and then coming into the net and bottling with this was really straightforward as well. Okay, perfect. So then, let's talk about volleys. How did it feel on contact? Was it easy to punch?

volleys deep hit some drop volleys. Yeah, nice and firm. I think maybe a little thicker beam than the vehicle helps with the control of the volleys. So, those firm flying through to the baseline ones were good, and the touches were also pretty nice as well, pretty easy to control. Yeah, and smashes, overheads, easy power to put the ball away. Yeah, it's so easy from the shoulder, swinging overhead with this. Yeah, so then could you compare then the v chord to the e zone in terms of volleys? Yeah, I think I would put, I probably preferred volleying with the e zone here than the vehicle, just because again, plowing through the volleys, it was, it just felt really solid. And I think sometimes with the smaller head of mine at the moment, it's a little bit difficult just to control it as well as this one. So, I would probably edges for volleying over mine. Okay, so let's talk about serves. How easy was it to hit down T with flat, with power, and maybe the slice serve out wide?

yeah, again compared with my current racket, I think the power of this racket serving is definitely better than mine. So, the flat serves coverage, and also it's pretty easy to hit with slice if I'm slicing up wide on the juice side, or if I hit with the top spin serves for the second serve. And the other take home with this is that it's really easy power with the serve. We obviously had a few slice battles out there, which I was pushing you quite hard on. How was it on the slice? Obviously, 95, which I was using, I feel like it's so easy to hit a slice of that. Did you feel fine maybe going up in the head size? You'd lose a little bit of control or maybe just gain power. Was it easier to hit with? I actually found it slightly easier. Again, I just thought my slices were going a little bit deeper than normal. Again, with the V-Core being so spin-friendly, sometimes, you know, I sort of overspin it, whereas I still got the plow through the

slice with this, and I was beating you on quite a lot of those battles, actually. You were, yeah, yeah. And then, so let's talk about touch. If you were to take one racket, say you're playing a game of bluff or something like that, taking one racket to be the best touch racket, would it be this racket or maybe your V-Core 95? I think I've got to stay low. I'll go my own racket, my V-Core. I think it's just a little bit easier with the touch, again, with it being really spin-friendly, as I've said. Definitely going to back that for a game of bluff. Okay, so to conclude, Liam Mosley really got on with the racket. Jones has a very particular feel, and that he's already using a yacht already. Would it be a Yonex you'd potentially swap from for the V-Core 95? Personally, not quite for me. I've recently just switched the V-Core just for the extra spin of control, whereas this is a bit more for those.

looking for more power on the ball, whereas I'm after the control a bit more. So, personally, not for me, but it's a great racket if you're looking for that easy power from all areas of the court, I think. And then, in terms of the style, do you prefer the style of this one to the vehicle? I think I do, in particular, will match my bag that I've currently got, so that's always a win. But yeah, sticking with the blue, the e-zone, I think it looks, I think it's a really nice update on how it looks. There you go, substance over style. He's going to stick with his v-core 95 for now, but it's a racket that everyone that demos with us tends to fall in love with, to be honest. They've done a great job in these e-zone lines. They're easy to play with. I think you still get great access to spin, just for that little bit of extra power compared to the v-core series in my book. So, thanks for watching to the end of
