The Way Out of Suffering [Mooji:] Sometimes we are just miserable
because we are miserable. It's not, "Oh, it's because this person, 
they did this thing" and so on.

It is like Jesus shared one time, He said, 'These people, 
they hate me without reason.' They will produce something and say, 'he speaks against our country and all". But it is not that. It is something inside. The egoic nature is easily disturbed.

If you rock the boat a little bit he is disturbed. Then he wants to, 'Ahrrr,' attack you.
'Leave my life alone.' And yet, you need so much that your boat
is tipped and toppled over. So, if one knows that you are not going to be 

good enough that everybody loves you. As I said before, there has never been a being, in the history of any universe, who has been loved by everybody, 
and that includes God. Not even God is loved by everyone. So, something inside, just in the force of life
plays as opposite.

And it doesn't really need a reason, 
it just comes out, because this is the realm 
of interrelated opposites. So if there is joy there will be some sorrow. You cannot just sieve it out
and just take out all the bad bits,

because very often the bad bits lead 
to the so-called good bits. The bits are very much subjective. There is not anything inherently bad 
or anything inherently good, in the phenomenal sense. It is our perception that makes them
good or bad,

and that is also shaped by conditioning
and so many other factors. Some of them are untraceable, actually. If we can accept that our world
does not have to make sense... Sometimes, there are some things
that will make sense.

Other times, they don't make any sense. If we are okay with this,
and we don't require or demand that the world is a certain way 
so that we can be a certain way... Because that leaves a very strong sense of 
suppression and frustration

which quickly turns into judgment, which then flows into aggressiveness. We don't have to look very far to see the outcome of when we are not sitting right inside our Self. What is this not sitting right? It means that too much attention
is given to our personal sense of self,

the inhibited self, the fictional self, and believing that it's thoughts are true,
it's feelings are true. And when you are in this state,
it is very difficult to deny that your feelings are true.
They feel very real. They feel like blood flowing through your veins

and they are in the lungs. It feels so intimate;
even one, you may say. But upon deeper reflection and 
when bringing your attention back to the starting place of attention, and then behind the starting place of attention; by this I mean where even the movement 
of attention is also perceived.

When that is really clear
and acknowledged to itself, then you are in a boundless, 
an unbound space of Being. And this anybody can do, you see. The beautiful thing that is pointed to
through non-dual pointing,

Is this the tree that bears immediate fruits? Because what I am pointing to is not a creative outcome. It is not that you must create something and then you get there. Some people are better at creativity, they are more artistic than others; not like this, not creative.

It is simply a recognition that takes place to what is ever present in everyone. So, it is there. Then the question may be asked, 'If it is there, why is it so rarely perceived?' I can only answer that by saying that

it is not perceived, partly because the consciousness that we are might be presently invested in its self-portrait as a person. When it is invested in its self-portrait as a person, it's dedicated to that image.

The person is a vulnerable state, an insecure state. And so, the consciousness is converted away from its universality and is condensed into this very intense psychological entity. And so, this is the beginning of suffering. And the way out of suffering, I cannot say what triggers that.

I will have to use the word Grace here. Grace is very much at the heart and center of our life. But we don't recognize her, you see. I heard someone say it is like 'Missing the elephant in the room.' It is here but you cannot see it.

All your life, your breath, your ability to think and feel, is all the flow of Grace, the vital force, the Love and Presence of God, or Truth. These are all the same. I do not have a distinction between God and the Self.

and the Truth, whatever. Largely, these are terms
that are over-exaggerated or seen with a fragmenting mind, so they seem like they are distinct things. But there are no 'things', actually. At the highest state of Consciousness,
there are no 'things'.

There is just what Is, and It is there before things.
It is not a thing. How would we know that?
How would we know this? You do not need to go any step away
from right where you are. You have to learn to look inwardly.

The person looks outwardly because 
it perceives itself to be a form. But the Self...
Somehow as you are coming into a deeper understanding, 
your attention is more in-turned, and you can observe
your emotions, feelings, and so on

until you find that even your in-turned attention is external to a deeper seeing, you can say. When you come to this deeper seeing, then all I am trying to convey right now will be automatically and spontaneously
revealed in your Self. It may take some time,

but it comes without blood, sweat, and tears. It is revealed just like the flower emits
a certain fragrance; then out of the Self emits the fragrance
of Peace and Wisdom and Love. At the higher state of consciousness
there are no "things"

there is just "what is"
and it is there before things.

Misery often stems from internal factors, not external circumstances.

The ego is easily disturbed and reacts defensively.

It's unrealistic to expect universal love; even God isn't loved by everyone.

Life inherently involves opposing forces; joy and sorrow coexist.

Good and bad are subjective perceptions, not inherent qualities.

Accepting that life doesn't always make sense reduces frustration.

Demanding a specific world view leads to suppression and aggression.

Over-focus on the personal self leads to suffering.

Believing that thoughts and feelings are true creates suffering.

Shifting attention beyond the personal self reveals boundless Being.

This is not a creative process, but a recognition of what is present.

The state of Being is already present but often unperceived.

It's often unperceived due to consciousness being invested in the personal self.

The personal self is a vulnerable and insecure state.

Grace is central to life but often unrecognized.

Grace is the vital force, Love and Presence of God or Truth.

There's no distinction between God, Self, and Truth.

At the highest state of consciousness, there are no things, only 'what is'.

Looking inwardly, rather than outwardly, reveals the Self.

Observe emotions and feelings until a deeper seeing is revealed.

This deeper seeing reveals Peace, Wisdom, and Love spontaneously.
