thus Bok zarathustra is a book of heroic inspiration, written as a response to the shackles n saw imprisoning the human Spirit. He saw that Society was decaying into materialism and decadence, with the death of God and the loss of heroic myths that once molded man's character. Culture was collapsing. He saw men were spiritually sick, living lives ruled by pleasures and pains and Petty Trifles. They were ensnared by weak beliefs and values of the herd. Humanity was declining and without a new ideal, it would be lost forever. Lo, I teach you the Overman. Man is something that is to be surpassed. What have ye done to surpass man? Thus Spoke zarathustra holds out a torch to the free spirits of the future, AKA you and I. This book is written from the perspective of a Fearless sage, and it has the power to shake the foundations of your psyche. Zarathustra is on fire with life and will and is undaunted by the struggles and suffering of mortal.

existence. He has this attitude of unconcerned contempt for ups and downs. In fact, he rejoices in the constant cycle of downgoing and overcoming that move creation forward. He approaches life, that is all feelings and experiences, with pure affirmation, which is totally different from the timid and base approach most people take. He encourages types to wake up from their blind mediocrity and reject the sickness that has infiltrated their souls. Zaratustra embodies a way of being and thinking that is totally alien to the lower self within each of us, but akin to our noblest natures. This tale of aspiration and re-evaluation is so radical. I think Nietzsche was correct to put it into poetic aphorisms and story. When I read it, I felt parts of my spirit awaken and shake off dense perceptions and weak feelings. It's so easy to live beneath yourself in this era of temptation, comfort, and confusion, and to forget of the greatness inside that is trying to be birthed through life's turmoil. Everyone suffers through change and pain of some kind.

all philosophy and religion grapples with this problem of suffering, but while most everyone else sells you a doctrine of dogma and happiness or heaven and self-denial, Zarathustra rejects these hidden forms of weakness. He faces life and simply says, Yes, bring it on. Be free, brother. Laugh across the peaks of tragedy and majesty alike. Live for the earth once more and be her heroic children. Lo, I am a herald of the lightning and a heavy drop out of the cloud. The lightning, however, is the Übermensch. Thus Spoke Zarathustra: In the absence of religious faith and ancient virtue, Zarathustra proclaimed a new aim and source of transcendental meaning: the Übermensch or Overman. This is the symbol of man at his highest vitality and potential. The Übermensch is the central idea of Zarathustra that can give you the power and meaning required to face great ordeals and become who you are meant to be. But if you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal

Zarathustra book is pointing to the psychology of the Ubermensch. But what exactly is this Ubermensch or Overman, as some like to call it? It is the higher image of man, his most evolved form. We could give it human qualities like self-determination, creativity, strength, flexibility, self-mastery, self-confidence, cheerfulness, and courage. But to n The Ubermensch was more akin to a god, a deity, than to a man. It was an impossibly high symbol of what man could be if he embarked on the constant path of becoming. Now, this is not supposed to encourage some Messianic complex. To n The Ubermensch has never existed and never Tru will. It was not so much a man as an ideal of perfection to shoot towards and through aspiring, the spirit within man was lifted upwards toward

I'm sure your happiest days this past week, this past month, or year are those that you make progress, that you break through a previous limitation. In fact, conquering resistance, overcoming fear, and pushing your edge in some way, whether that's creatively, in relationships, at the gym, or in your personal life, that brings the highest state of exaltation and liberation. The Uber Mitch is a symbol to aspire to, and aspiration was a spiritual force of evolution. We should seek to live aspirational lives. To paraphrase Zarathustra, aim as high as you can in this life, launch your arrows of longing for the distant shore of the Uber Mitch, and don't worry about your downfalls. All great downgoing and overcoming are but the birth pangs of a higher existence. Zara preached this message after becoming overfull and weary of his own wisdom. He descended from the mountains and came into a town and spoke to the people of the Uber Mitch, but they wouldn't listen. They scorned him, so instead he warned of the counter-ideal, that of the last man, the de-evolution that occurs when man no longer aspires beyond himself. The last man represents self-preservation and the instinct.

Ultimately, the last man lacks a goal and because of this, he becomes weak in his character and weak in his valuation of things. He pursues pleasure rather than growth and meaning. Herein lies a most interesting grain of Truth. Your valuation of good, good and bad in life manifest based off your ideals. If you aim at contentment, material success, and ease as most people do, you will see danger and pain as bad things to fix. If you aiming at your strongest, most vibrant life, however, struggle and suffering become worthy things that you pursue willingly. Strength, Challenge, and even danger are elevated in your mind as good things that replace previous valuations of security and comfort. Ancient cultures like the Greeks, for instance, aimed at maximum Splendor, greatness of soul, and the full expression of Life. Hence, they developed a moral system that promoted those things. Their favorite entertainment was tragic dramas, debates, War, and the Olympic Games. They delighted in the rawest, most alive experience of life.

And since we idolize the last man, we have adopted his moral outlook. And as a result, have lost our taste for heroic struggle and exalted suffering. Nietzsche captured this perfectly in this quote: The hero to them is an affliction and a terror, but by my love and hope I entreat you: do not reject the hero in your soul; keep holy your highest hope. Thus Spoke Zarathustra: Keep holy your highest hope, my friends. It's so important to aspire. Part three: suffering and sacrifice. Without an aim and aspiration, we are prone to become weary of life. Suddenly, the struggle loses its zest and joy and meaning, and this is a great danger to our spirit. When we don't fight for something, we cease to fight altogether. But life keeps throwing her

punches. This is how you get beat to hell. And speaking on suffering, he said he desires it. He even seeks it out, provided he has shown a meaning for it, a purpose of suffering. The meaninglessness of suffering, not suffering itself, was a curse that lay over mankind. So far, here's the thing: when we lack great aspiration, whether that's spiritually oriented in our family, business, or personal lives, little pains throw us off. We pursue ease and safety and contentment because that is how our lower natures are wired. But when we are convicted by a higher vision of what we could be or what we could create, enduring pain can actually be joyful because we know it's for something more. When we are convicted by an ideal, what we must endure for that promise becomes almost trivial. For instance, let's say you are on a cosmic game show and your spin at the Wheel of Fortune was a bad one. In fact, you had to suffer every hardship imaginable for the next year. How would you feel about that? How would you face

it I know I would be miserable and cursing my fate. But now let's just change it slightly. You still get to suffer through hell every day, but at the end of that year, you'd be given maximum success, greatness, and vitality as long as you struggled well. Now, how would you face that? I'd suspect that strength would replace weakness and pains that would otherwise CR [ __ ] you would become mere Trifles because you have a deeper conviction in your soul. This is the power, the vision of the Uber Minch is supposed to Grant conviction, conviction in the great man you could be, and conviction in the great love and culture you could create. This conviction grants a willingness to face what is unpleasant as a mere triviality, a minor price to be paid for your strongest life. When we suffer for something greater than ourselves, we don't get so caught up in our own an experience. We go into pain more willingly and live beyond ourselves because our petty lives are no longer the focus of our whole existence. Let me

repeat that great self-overcoming occurs when our petty lives are no longer the focus of our whole existence. Like a Warrior sacrificing himself for his God, family, and comrades beside him. Only when we live for something greater can true heroism occur. Heroism, in the deepest sense, is the sacrifice of your current self for a higher love and power. The ideal of the Ubermensch is about devotion and the sacrifice. Nietzsche saw this approach as the winning game plan for your highest existence. If you want something bad enough, time, energy, and money become of no consequence. If you wanted your strongest life as bad as an addict wanted the needle, you would have it. Effort is no problem when you are convicted by an ideal. The reason you stop when things get hard and waste so much time on your phone is mainly because you lack clear aspiration and conviction. These things are the foundation of progress. You must sacrifice yourself to something higher, an Ideal Image you truly believe in, and learn discipline in its pursuit. This may be difficult, but this is what rewires

your whole psyche and turns you into something else entirely. Many religions talk about making your life a living sacrifice in their own way. The Hindus and yogis talk about living in Devotion to Krishna and offering up all your pain and efforts to God. Christianity and Judaism speak of submission to God's Will and sacrificing on Earth to build up Heavenly Treasure. Nietzsche of course proclaimed God was dead. He saw the majority of men losing faith in the religious God. So what could replace it? Could you create a God? Then do not speak to me of any Gods, but you could well create the uich. Perhaps not you yourselves, my brother, but the fathers and forefathers of the Uber Mitch. You could recreate yourselves and let this be your best creation. This idea of becoming a living sacrifice for the Uber Mitch is very powerful. In fact, it is perhaps the most powerful thing you could do. Consider all that holds you back from your most vital, robust, and elevated life. If you were living absolutely convicted by the man you

could be how would you spend today? How would you embrace discomfort? Look at all the weaknesses, limitations, fears, and resistances that hinder you to become your highest form and spread your highest love. Requires literally dying to who you are and growing into something new. This is what living as a sacrifice as a forefather of the Uber MCH means embracing surrender, discomfort, and great self-overcoming as the way. The ironic thing about this path is that it doesn't sound pleasant. It is terrifying and difficult. And shedding your own skin is dangerous, but in reality, great struggle and transformation and triumph is the most joyous experience of life. Living is already hard, and if you avoid problems, it just gets worse. So why not make the pain beautiful? Why not affirm the full experience of life? To do that requires aspiration and meaning, like the mother and father sacrificing day and night for their newborn children, or the artist pouring his soul into his masterpiece. When we are creating beyond ourselves, vitality and meaning explode into our lives. It is time for man to fix.

It is time for you to fix your sights on what is best, on the image of excellence and maximum love, courage, and splendor that you could share with the world. In order for man to shed his weakness and become something more, Nietzsche believed he must strive beyond himself and dedicate his life to something higher. Perhaps the Ubermensch Zarathustra spoke to the higher types, the free spirits of the future. He spoke to you, oh blessed hour of the lightning, running fires. Will I make of them and heralds with flaming tongues. It's time to become the forerunner of the Ubermensch, the herald of your strongest life, and claim your victory.
