you are being controlled and limited by your relationships, and it has nothing to do with other people: not your neighbors, not your family, not your friends, not your co-workers, not your boss, not your business partner, not even your romantic relationship. Because at the heart of every relationship that you have is the relationship you have with yourself. People can say anything; they can feel or think anything about you, but without your buying into their belief, into their criticism, into their judgment, then it has no effect on you. Everything in life and in your relationships is neutral. It is you that gives it meaning. It is you that gives it significance. It is you that buys into whatever it is that's being presented to you as if it's the truth, as if it's real, as if it is what they say it is. You see, you are the creator of your reality, and it is only by responding to your relationships that you can give them permission to control you. So if someone has an idea that you're doing something wrong, maybe your parents or your family think that you're making the wrong

choices that you're making, mistakes that you're being selfish. First of all, of course, we can listen to those around us. It gives us a very important outside perspective on what we might be missing, on our blind spots. But even more important than being open and receptive to the feedback of others is actually being conscious of our own response internally, being conscious of how we are reacting externally, being aware of how our sense of self is being triggered by what's happening around us. And you see, you can change everything about your life. You can break up with your partner, you can leave your job, you can tell your family that you don't want to be a part of this group anymore, you can move halfway across the world, you can leave your whole life behind. But all of that is circumstantial, and because you are the creator of your reality, no matter where you end up and who you end up with, you will recreate the same dynamics because it is something that you are harboring and carrying within.

your own sense of self within your own self-image, and until you become aware of it, and until you understand it, then you will feel like you are being controlled by everything around you. But true freedom, true peace, true abundance in life and in your relationships, comes from the self-knowledge and the self-acceptance of your own experience of how you are relating to yourself, and noticing and taking responsibility for all the projections that you are outsourcing. If somebody says something that rubs you the wrong way, that's an opportunity for you to look at where you might be believing what they're saying is actually true about you. Or if something goes wrong, and now you start to doubt yourself, rather than looking to your circumstances as a cue to if something's working or how things are going or if you're on the right track, look at your own response, your own reaction, and notice that you are dependent on something outside of you in order to feel confident, in order to feel like you can trust yourself, in order to have conviction in what it is that

you're doing who it is that you're being. Because if you're constantly looking to your circumstances and your relationships for an indication as to how you're doing and who you should or shouldn't be, then you, my friend, are being a victim to life, and that is not the way to True Freedom. So, of course, there is a place and a time for boundaries and direct, honest communication. This is how we inform others, how we inform our environment as to what we are choosing, who we want to be, and what it is that we will and will not tolerate. But all of that is secondary to the first step, which is knowing yourself and understanding yourself. Because then you are free in any circumstance. You are free within any relationship to feel however you want to feel, to be however you want to be, and to respond consciously without being triggered. You see, the triggers are the greatest gifts that you can have, and when you embrace them, when you utilize them as a mirror for where you are not feeling free within yourself, that's

where you can really grow and accelerate because life is always revealing to you where you are still feeling limited, where you are still not believing that you are the creator of your reality. And if you can notice all these little contractions, these little reactions, then you are allowing yourself the opportunity to grow and elevate beyond them. And then nothing that can happen in your life will affect you or throw you off again.
