AND THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO CAUSE THE POWER OUTAGES AND THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO CAUSE THE STORM SURGE, PARTICULARLY SOUTH OF THIS RED BUBBLE HERE AS YOU SEE THE WINDS HOWLING OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST AND HEADING INLAND AS THE GULF OF MEXICO DOES THAT. ON APPROACH BETWEEN 8:00 AND 9:00, THAT IS

WHAT WE HAVE. THIS IS THE 4:00 P.M. ADVISORY. 5:00 P.M. ADVISORY WILL GIVE US A NEW CONE AND AN UPDATE ON WHAT WE HAVE. THE ADVISORY AT 4:00 CAME IN WITH 125-MILE-PER-HOUR WINDS, CATEGORY THREE HURRICANE, DANGEROUS HERE, BUT IT LOOKS TO BE WITH THIS KIND OF TRACK THAT TAMPA WOULD BE MISSING THE WORST OF THE STORM SURGE, THERE. THEY WILL STILL GET SOME BEHIND THE STORM, BUT IF ANYTHING POINTS TO THE SOUTH, IT WON'T GET HIT THE HARDEST AS FAR AS THE STORM SURGE. FOR THE WINDS, WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEE 25, 30-MILE-PER-HOUR WINDS AS WE

HEAD THROUGH TONIGHT, AND TOMORROW GETTING A BIT STRONGER, PARTICULARLY AS WE HAD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. THAT IS WHEN WE WILL BE ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE STORM, AS IT CONTINUES TO PUSH OUT OF FLORIDA AND IT WILL STILL BE A CATEGORY 1 HURRICANE AS FAR AS THE FORECAST. THERE IS THE LANDFALL SOMETIME LATER TONIGHT BETWEEN 8:00 AND 10:00. THIS IS SPED UP AT TIMES BUT PRETTY MUCH STEADY NOW BETWEEN 16, 17 MILES PER HOUR. THE WOBBLES ARE A LITTLE BIT TRICKY THERE, AS FAR AS WHERE WE ARE GOING TO PUT THIS LANDFALL, BUT IT LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN SOUTH OF TAMPA BAY. WE HAVE NOT YET SEEN THAT TURN, BUT THAT IS THE FORECAST.

FROM NHC. THERE YOU SEE THE WIND GUSTS. AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT, BETWEEN 40 AND 45 MILES PER HOUR. NAPLES, OF COURSE, IS MUCH CLOSER TO THE STRONGEST WINDS, SO THAT IS GUSTING 50 TO 55 ALREADY BY LATER ON THIS EVENING AND THAT WILL CONTINUE. THEY ARE GOING TO GET INTO THE 60s THERE, PERHAPS EVEN SOME 70-MILE-PER-HOUR WIND GUSTS. WE ARE NEVER GOING TO SEE THAT. 40, 45, THAT IS MANAGEABLE. THAT IS THE KIND OF WIND THAT CAN PICK UP LOOSE OBJECTS AROUND YOUR BACKYARD, WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU TO SECURE THOSE THE LAST FEW DAYS.

The area has experienced a tornado outbreak and strong wind gusts, with some places seeing 40-50 mph winds.

The rain is expected to diminish over the next few hours, but strong winds will continue into tomorrow.

Live wind gusts are currently manageable in Orlando, but the core hurricane winds are just offshore and will be arriving in the next few hours, causing power outages and storm surge.

The hurricane is currently a Category Three with 125-mile-per-hour winds, and Tampa is expected to miss the worst of the storm surge.

However, the area will still experience significant winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour.

The hurricane is expected to strengthen through tonight and tomorrow, with a Category 1 landfall forecasted between 8:00 and 10:00 PM.

The storm's path has been tricky, but it is projected to make landfall south of Tampa Bay.

Wind gusts in Naples are already reaching 50 to 55 mph and may escalate to 60-70 mph, while other areas will experience more manageable gusts of 40 to 45 mph.

Winds will pick up to 20-25 miles per hour by late tomorrow.

The weather is expected to wind down significantly after that.
