a few weeks ago a friend of mine forwarded me a video from the YouTube channel Actualize.org. It was titled "What is the point of life?" and it was a video released about ten months ago. And it was interesting, I enjoyed his style of presenting, how he does this kind of

thinking out loud thing. He has a good way of packaging concepts together: psychedelics, consciousness, the universe, etc. None of it is particularly new or unique. It's basically the same kind of stuff you'll hear in more psychedelic circles about oneness, unity, how we are

the universe experiencing itself. All really good stuff and very fun concepts to talk about and explore. And it's clear that I'm a bit late to the party here because Actualize's channel has been going for years and it is huge, almost a million subscribers, loads of views.

It's on a website with an online store. It's basically become a spiritual business, which is absolutely fine. And I have no problem with people making money from their content, which you have clearly put a lot of effort into. So, as you do, I started going down the rabbit

hole and watching all the content. And before long, I started getting that weird feeling, you know, like when you're talking to someone who fundamentally seems like a nice person, but then they just say something so outlandish you're just like, "Oh, okay."

And then I came across this most recent video entitled "I'm Leaving to Pursue Awakening and Healing." Which caught my eye because anytime you see something on the internet which contains the words "I'm leaving," then there is pretty much guaranteed to be some kind of drama.

behind it and what I saw in this video was basically a perfect example of someone who has gone too far with psychedelics and so really what's happening is that the universe is sort of grooming me to become its vehicle for transmitting the highest teachings to those

of you who are open-minded, those of you who really are serious about this work, I can help you to discover that you are God. When you do realize that you're God, this will instantaneously solve every single problem in your life. Not only that, but it will heal you, it will heal

you of every disease and problem that you have. My mind and my body are already currently in the process of getting rewired to take me to the next level, complete transformation of who I am, my energy, my abilities, and so with awakening what's happening is

that you're discovering more and more that you're God, that you're the only being in the universe and that you are constructing everything around you including all people, all things, animals, beings, everything. So there is a potential for doing some amazing stuff, healing and other what would be called

paranormal, extrasensory perception type stuff. How could you possibly know that? Again, that can't be explained to you and if you're not using psychedelics, honestly, you're wasting your time, you're just wasting decades of your life. Yeah, this guy has taken a little bit too much.

[Music] Now what I'm not going to do in this video is some kind of roast or dismantling of Actualized.org content to try and make him look like a... I don't think he's a bad guy, I don't think he has any sinister motives, although some of his

rhetoric is definitely leaning towards a Messiah Complex but this is not intended to be some kind of takedown. What this latest video does show though in my opinion is someone who has gone over the edge and he's starting to disappear up his own ass. That point where these

thoughts about your own place in the cosmos stop being just interesting concepts and start becoming delusional ideologies and I think that's something that any of us who are into psychedelics should be wary of. So I'm gonna take Leo here as an example to the rest of us in

my opinion these are the red flags and if you find yourself exclaiming that you're the second coming or any of this kind of stuff then it's probably a good idea to put down the DMT pipe and chill the fuck out. And if it sounds like I'm

taking the piss out of it here then it's just because some of the stuff he comes out with is just so-- oh there, that I mean it's hard not to laugh. I mean honestly I cannot imagine saying some of the stuff he comes out with while

managing to keep a straight face. This is something I've talked about before in my video, we need to do better. The psychedelic or new-age community is so accepting of wacky outbursts like this but it can actually encourage people to go further than they should

and then once they've gone too far there's just no framework in place to be able to put the brakes on these kind of thought patterns and without those brakes people just come right off the rails and disappear up their own ass. Another thing about this community is

that we can take ourselves way too seriously, which I find strange because that seems to be at odds with the experiences themselves. You know, many times I've been lost in some kind of vision and then just burst out laughing at the pure absurdity of myself, of life.

Our existence is joyously fantastic, and we should remember that. Stay grounded and don't take ourselves too seriously anyway. Let's take a look at this video realization of myself as God, which of course, you know, I realized many times in the past. It's absolutely impossible

to convey to you in any way that you can possibly imagine or understand. It's completely outside of your ability to imagine it in your current state of consciousness. You can't imagine it, you can't understand it. So when I use the word 'awakening,' whatever you think that

means in your mind, you have some image of what that means. You're wrong. That's not what it means. And whatever other image you might conjure up, you're also wrong. So no image that you can have can possibly do it justice. It's

very easy to get to a certain point and reason to go, 'Okay, I'm good. I think I got it. I figured it out. I understand what I am. I understand what consciousness is. I understand what reality is. I understand what Awakening is.' But that's a trap

because there's a deeper level that you don't even, you can't even imagine that it's there. And yet it's there. And so I'm explaining to you why I'm saying these things because I've accessed levels of awareness that it's clear to me that

People that I've studied under don't have these levels of awareness, but see you're not conscious of that. Not only are you not conscious of that, it's probably difficult for you to even conceive of what a consciousness of that would even mean, how that's even possible.

It makes no sense to you from your current state of consciousness. Yeah, this was one of the first parts which made me raise my eyebrow. I mean, can I actually even raise my eyebrow? Anyway, the kind of language use here is creating a separation, it's creating a

you and an eye, and then setting the definition that I am so far above you that you cannot possibly understand just how awakened I am. It's not just that you simply don't understand, you can't understand, unless of course you get on board with these teachings.

Currently on sale for just $250. Now, in my opinion, the benefit of psychedelics doesn't come from these kind of separations, but from building connections, connections to ourselves, connections to our loved ones, to our ancestors, to the planet. But I think what

Leo is doing here is which drawing and building walls, creating a clear distinction between himself, or some superior light and being, and us who need to shut the up and pay attention to his teachings, otherwise we'll never awaken. And in his mind, that's the only point of existence, and

there is nothing else for you to do in this life but to realize that your god, that's the only game in town. And if I had a dollar for every time he says awakening in this video, then Jesus Christ, I would be rich beyond my wildest

dreams dude to label every time you trip your bollocks off for some kind of cosmic awakening it just sounds pretentious anyway this soil separation is a major red flag unless someone is losing the plot the creation of a problem which only they can solve and another who is

different from them it's a narrative commonly used in the formation of cults which leads us nicely to this clip truly now my understanding of awakening has become so rich and so full that I can really appreciate the subtle differences between different teachers and different

religions and traditions and basically what I'm talking about now is a level of awakening that transcends everything transcends all teachings all teachers transcends the Buddha transcends Christ transcends every master that you've heard about transcends Zen

transcends Buddhism Christianity advisor all of it all of it becomes like a joke it transcends the chakras it transcends meditation transcends yoga there is no way you can reach this level of awakening through meditation through yoga's through self inquiry nothing that

I will be capable of levels of consciousness that perhaps only a handful of humans have ever been capable of on the entire planet in the entire history of mankind and that literally miracles will be possible so Leo kicks off here basically saying that he has

surpassed any other teacher or teaching that ever existed that stuff is only he has the actual answers and he will be able to perform miracles oh hey there's really no good way that I know of getting there other than through psychedelics and specifically through

five at me or DMT just as a sign not here the actual spiritual awakenings he's talking about is basically just him blasting off on 5-MeO-DMT which is one of the things I find kind of hilarious not because I'm disrespecting five for

me or how much look powerful and insightful experience it can be but you know Oberst like I am God I under Universal cliched a total newb comes out with the first time they get high and then the morning after they wake up and like cringe oh my god did I

actually say that the only difference here is that Leo either isn't self-aware enough or takes himself far too seriously to be able to acknowledge that still I have to admit he would make a great cult leader he clearly has the confidence and the intelligence and he has speech patterns

and quiet intensity that could easily lure people in and while I don't think he's actually trying to start a cult he's certainly deliberately building an echo chamber around himself which is another red flag when someone is so gonna that they refuse to have their

belief system challenged then they take step two separates out those they perceive as attacking the ideology from the faithful who will tour the line as this next clip shows at this point I'm becoming very intolerant of people's games and ignorance and closed mindedness like if you want to follow my

work you got to be radically open-minded and if you're not if you're just going to be keyboard jockeying and sitting there and posting stupid comments and snarky remarks then like I don't I don't even want to talk to you at this point

and I'm not gonna be entertaining your stupid ideas and your games. I've been far too tolerant of people's ignorance with this work and so you're gonna see me cracking down and taking a sort of uh, no stance and being less, just less tolerant of people.

ignorance, both on the forum in the comment sections and throughout my content. And that's how you build an echo chamber. The funny thing is is that this is actually the opposite of enlightened thinking. It's actually the most primal, animalistic part of us that does this if

you look at any animal that assembles into tribes, chimpanzees, lion, wolves, etc., then the dominant leader crushes any challenges and makes them submit to their rule, their way of thinking. And if they don't submit then it's either exile or death. So there's nothing particularly

woke about what he's doing here. And again, it just isn't self-aware enough to see it. I've been struggling with health issues, you know, I've spoken in the past about having low thyroid and dealing with thyroid problems. I've had that, I've been dealing with a lot of

chronic fatigue and some digestion problems. And, and so in this awakening that I had, I sort of in one fell swoop realized the source of all of my, my health issues. And really, not just mine, but all of mankind's. But yeah, I have been struggling with these health issues.

They've been quite debilitating. Some, some days it's been, it's been difficult to just even do any work at all. It's really, it's, it's a hurdle that I need to overcome, which is part of my spiritual path, is that I need to overcome this and

be able to heal myself so that then I have a deep personal understanding of what it's like to be ill, of what it's like to suffer. So here we see that he talks a lot about how much he's suffering. We seem to be at odds with the

ability to cure every ailment that he alluded to earlier. Mm-hmm. You know, I actually feel genuinely quite sorry for the guy. He is clearly going through some  and when I look at him talking like this, I don't see someone who's some enlightened super being, I see a guy with

a lot of sadness and loneliness, someone who's in pain, someone who's doubling down on this ascended narrative of awakenings to try and find meaning to it all. But again, I think by doing this he's actually just making things worse. You know, I've been

around people in similar delusional states and thankfully they're able to grow themselves and get back to reality. I hope that's what happens when Actualized returns from his self-imposed exile and I can only hope that it's with a clearer mind, his feet firmly back

on the floor. And so the people around him, this is the time to intervene as best as you can. This guy is a compassionate and non-judgmental reality check. I think I will leave it there because otherwise I could go on forever about this. His actual video is over now,

along that so there's certainly plenty more material that I could dissect, but I think I've made my point. One last thing I would say about all this is that if you truly believe what you're preaching about everything being one and that we're all God and that we will exist

forever across infinite time then all that is gonna happen anyway I mean it's already happening right right now across multiple timelines and dimensions you don't need to cut yourself off from humanity in order to unlock the secrets of the universe the only game in town is not being God it's

being a human being this is what you have right now this moment of being you existing as this instance of a human being this is it you will only get one today and when it's gone it's gone this time is precious don't waste it distancing yourself from everyone around

you make connections feel loved give love I mean if there really is some transcendent God do you want us to think that this was their plan for you to cut yourself off from the rest of humanity and sniff your own thoughts about how awakened you are I mean really that's it
