Hello, it feels like a channel full of motivation, plans, and energy, just like a gym in January. But by now, the excitement is starting to fade, and I'm thinking maybe I should take it easy. The truth is, if I had kept all the resolutions I made, I would probably be ruling the world by now. I would have about a billion subscribers. However, I haven't really kept any of them, and it's not entirely my fault. There’s a reason for this: in Korea, we have two New Years, January 1st and Seollal, which is the Lunar New Year. So, when I break my resolutions this time, I think, Well, I can just make new plans for Seollal and keep them then. This mindset leads to a sense of laxity. When Seollal actually arrives, having already broken my resolutions once, I find it hard to stay committed. The reason many of your plans fall apart is that Korea has two New Years. So, the conclusion is, should we just get rid of Seollal? Right?

Today, we are once again in the corner dedicated to finding super value-for-money products from various manufacturers. I mentioned that this segment started in a rather unique way. I had purchased a value-for-money laptop myself, but I became so exhausted that I simply asked a representative from a laptop manufacturer. I asked them, If your company had the best value-for-money laptop, what would you buy with your own money? I asked this respectfully. So now, each manufacturer is recommending a model under their name. So far, we have covered MSI and ASUS, and this time, it’s Lenovo. There were many products focused mainly on low prices, which means they have specifications that are somewhat lacking for heavy tasks or prolonged use. This product features a 13th generation Intel Core i5 processor and an H-series processor. Because it has an H-series processor instead of a U-series, the performance is quite strong. Therefore, while it may not handle very heavy games or high-capacity tasks easily, it is more than sufficient for general study or work-related activities. You can also enjoy light gaming with it. However, the price range goes up to around 800,000 won. The products I have introduced so far were mostly in the 400,000 to 500,000 won range, so the price has increased significantly. But since it comes with Windows installed and is equipped with an Intel Core i5 processor, it is reasonable in terms of performance. For reference, the reviewed product is the 13th generation Intel Core i5 13420H.

The model includes a processor and 16GB of memory, with a 256GB storage device, as well as Windows. The price starts in the low 800,000 won range. If you upgrade the storage to either 512GB or 1TB, that should be sufficient. Even with the upgrade, the price remains in the 800,000 won range. Now, let's start the review.

First, let's look at the design. This is the IdeaPad Slim 3i, a 15.6-inch laptop. One side of the lid has the Lenovo logo, and it is simple without any additional decorations. The Lenovo logo has a gradient effect that looks quite nice depending on the light. The overall color is silver, and the thickness is 17.9mm, which is slimmer than expected. The name Slim is not there for no reason; it has become about 10% slimmer compared to the previous generation. The weight is 1.62 kg, which is an average weight for a 15.6-inch laptop. It has also focused on durability, passing nine tests for military-grade standards set by the U.S. Department of Defense.

It seems that when I go, I really dislike it, but when someone else goes, I feel pleased. It's nice. It should be sent to the military. Overall, the design is clean and free of unnecessary elements, and the roughness of the plastic doesn't appear awkward. It's sturdy, assembled very well without any gaps. Let's look at the ports. On the left side, there are a USB Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a USB Type-C port, along with an audio port. On the opposite side, there is another USB Type-A port and an SD memory card reader. There's no need to carry a hub around with these ports; it’s quite convenient, right? The power supply can be connected through the power port, but it also supports USB PD charging. Normally, you don’t have to carry an adapter with you. The size of the adapter is about this much; it’s not very small, is it? Now, let’s take a look at the display. It’s a 15.6-inch Full HD display. For its size, the resolution is somewhat average. It could have been better.

Other specifications are all good. The IPS panel offers great viewing angles, and the color reproduction is excellent. It meets 100% sRGB values, so it can be used for design purposes without any major issues. Additionally, it has TÜV low blue light certification, which reduces eye strain. The anti-glare coating makes it very suitable for work or study. The screen brightness is 300 nits, which is slightly dim for outdoor work. The 16:10 aspect ratio makes the vertical space a bit longer, reducing the need for scrolling. Overall, it has a pleasant color tone without exaggeration, making it a comfortable display for the eyes. There's also a physical camera shutter at the top, which allows you to cover the camera when engaging in activities that should not be seen by others. You can do whatever you want without concern. The keyboard has a soft rebound, is quiet, and allows for a light and brisk typing experience. This Lenovo product is generally very good for typing.

It's very good. The biggest advantage compared to other brand laptops is the numeric keypad on the right, which is very useful for Excel work. The keyboard also has a backlight, making it convenient for late-night work. However, it does not have a fingerprint recognition sensor. The touchpad is not large, but it's of a decent size and is well-coated, making it smooth to use. Now, let's look at the performance. It is equipped with a 13th generation Intel Core i5 13420H processor. Instead of a low-power U-series processor, it has an H-series processor, which provides excellent performance. It has 8 cores and 12 threads, with a maximum clock speed of 4.6 GHz. Overall benchmark results are very impressive, especially in both CPU multi-core and single-core scores. It is suitable for various tasks such as multitasking, graphic work, and document work, and the graphics are appropriate for business use with the integrated graphics card.

This is not a gaming device, but it can handle simple games quite well due to its decent processor power. There is a slight noise during use, but the cooling system is very effective. The black and white components are mainly located on the bottom and the edges, and it only gets slightly warm on the upper part of the keyboard. Overall, this system is more than sufficient for work or study purposes. While handling 4K video editing may be challenging, it can manage Photoshop or other image editing tasks, as well as Full HD video editing without any issues. It can also run somewhat heavy applications comfortably. The speakers are located above the keyboard and support Dolby Audio, enhancing the stereo effect. However, the speaker performance is somewhat disappointing, as it lacks strong bass. It seems suitable for general work use. Now, let's check the battery performance.

The device is equipped with a 47W battery and supports 65W fast charging, as well as PD charging. The specifications are quite impressive. I tested the actual battery life with the screen brightness set to 60% and the volume at 40% while streaming Pro Full HD video, and it recorded about 5 hours and 20 minutes. Since it has an H processor, the battery life isn't extremely long, but it can be used externally for about four to five hours. 

When I review foreign laptops, I often receive comments expressing concerns about after-sales service (AS). Lenovo has actually strengthened its after-sales service. For this product, they offer annual PC electrical inspections and device configuration support through professional engineers. Additionally, under the ADP service, products damaged due to consumer negligence can be repaired free of charge. Furthermore, in the event of hardware malfunctions, they provide quick service by collecting the product for repairs and then delivering it back.

They say that the premium care service will also be supported for two years. Quick service, does this apply to Ulleungdo vegetables? Anyway, that's good. Now, let me summarize. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i is recommended as the most cost-effective laptop by a representative from Lenovo. While it is not specifically designed for portability, it is still easy enough to carry around at 1.6 kg. With a reasonably priced 15.6-inch screen, it is suitable for work, study, and can serve as a desktop replacement. Many budget laptops often lack processing power, but this one comes with an Intel Core i5 H processor, providing strong performance. It is ideal for users who need to run somewhat heavy applications or require graphic work. Additionally, the color reproduction is decent, making it suitable for design tasks as well. The after-sales service is also well considered, making it a good option for learning at home.

I think it would be good for those who use it for productivity purposes. However, the downside is that the options for gaming or entertainment are somewhat lacking. The focus has been heavily on productivity features, which might be beneficial from a parent's or an office worker's perspective.
