now in Dragon Ball, we have many different forms, and personally, my favorite form for all the Saiyans is Super Saiyan 4. But this is in the most controversial Dragon Ball GT, which many people didn't like. I myself really enjoyed it. Of course, there were some episodes in arcs where I was like, Well, it's stupid, but we literally have that in every show and every season, so I think it's time to discuss what's more powerful. In my opinion, Super Saiyan 4 (SSJ4) or Super Saiyan Blue. Now, both are incredibly powerful; there is no denying this. And with Dragon Ball daa coming out, I'm wondering if we're going to get possibly a new form, maybe like a Super Saiyan 4 kind of variant. The comparison between SSJ4 and Blue is a common topic amongst many fans online that I see, but it's very central to consider the context in which these forms do appear. So, first of all, Super Saiyan 4 was introduced in Dragon Ball GT.

mentioned, which is not based on the original manga written by Akira Toriyama. It's a sequel series to Z produced by Toy Animation. Now, Super Saiyan 4 is achieved after a Saiyan transforms into a golden great ape and then gains control over that form, reverting to a humanoid form but retaining certain primal features. To me, the concept of this is really freaking sick. I just love the fact that they're able to transform into this chaotic beast and then harness it and control it back into their human form but still be able to have those abilities. It's an immensely powerful form, combining the might of Super Saiyan and the Ozaru great ape forms. It took a combined Goku and Vegeta Super Saiyan 4 to beat Omega Shenron. Now, Super Saiyan Blue is introduced in Dragon Ball Super. This, of course, is the series that continues the story from Z and is much more in line with Akira Toriyama's involvement and his vision. So, you can almost say that he sees this more as

Canon, this form is achieved when a Saiyan with the power of Super Saiyan God, so when they have the red hair, goes Super Saiyan. There's like levels to this. Super Saiyan Blue combines the Divine energy of Super Saiyan God with the raw power of the Super Saiyan form. It is immensely, unbelievably powerful, but even as we saw, it required Goku and Vegeta to fuse as Super Saiyan Blue in order to beat Broly. So, since Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super follow different continuities, different timelines, it's really challenging to make a direct comparison between them in terms of narrative. Super Saiyan Blue is depicted as being on a different tier entirely because it deals with universal threats and gods, whereas Super Saiyan 4, while very mighty, my favorite, very cool, is generally seen battling against threats within the scale of Dragon Ball GT storyline, like Baby Vegeta and Omega Shenron and all this, you know, so it's not like you're going out of the realm and you're

Going into other universes from a canonical perspective, only Super Saiyan Blue is considered canon to Akira Toriyama's original story, as Dragon Ball Super has his direct input, whereas Dragon Ball GT, well, it doesn't sadly. So, power scaling in Dragon Ball can be very inconsistent, as we know, and transformations often surpass one another as the series progresses. Given that Dragon Ball Super follows Z and introduces characters and deities that operate on a universal scale, it's quite accepted amongst fans that Super Saiyan Blue would be stronger. Now, if you're going to ask me, I'm going to say no. I want Super Saiyan 4 to be the most powerful one because, oh, it's just my favorite. Looks the coolest. They look kind of like apes, humans, and they've been able to kind of harness, well, not kind of, they've been able to literally harness the power of the Great Ape, which is what Frieza feared the most. And to me, I think that's just so brilliant because they're controlling this chaotic nature.

that's inside of them, this Primal nature, and harnessing the power, and controlling it. And to me, that's so much more character development than just, you know, going Super Saiyan when you're in a God form. Now, the power of a Super Saiyan 4 drastically amplifies a Saiyan's power. Goku, upon first achieving this state, quickly overwhelmed most of his enemies in GT, including Baby Vegeta. The form brings out raw physical strength and offers a boost in energy attacks, like any transformation, really. Additionally, Super Saiyan 4 doesn't appear to drain stamina as severely as Super Saiyan 3 form does in Z. It's a much more stable form and state. Now, Super Saiyan blue possesses a Godly ki, and that's kind of the thing that we have to distinct here, make the distinction, is that they're essentially Super Saiyan Gods. The control and use of Godly ki appear to be essential against beings like Beerus, the God of destruction, or fighters from other universes. Goku and Vegeta used

this form against various opponents like Golden Frieza, Universe Six Fighters, and the fighters in the Tournament of Power. The form gives them the capability to fight toe-to-toe with some of the strongest beings in the Multiverse. So, I mean, when it comes to fighting, when you're using Super Saiyan Blue, you're, you know, going up against Gods of Destruction, time-traveling warriors, I mean, Hit, for example, fighters from various universes as well who are unbelievably powerful. The stakes and the power levels are naturally elevated, and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is introduced to contend with these powerful foes. So, while I love Super Saiyan 4, I got to say it feels like GT is, you know, their adversaries aren't threats that are on a grander scale like Super, which is going into, you know, completely other universes, like I said. And so, I think this is the argument that many fans make that don't like GT, that, you know, the scaling system is kind of like you're fighting within a world.

whereas in the other one, you're fighting within multiple universes, and so you obviously, by that logic, have to be more powerful. So, while both forms are extremely powerful, and you know, in their own right, of course, the general consensus based on the narrative scaling of these two abilities, these two Transformations, and the canonical status, of course, which is what a lot of fans argue about and kind of like hold as like the end-all, be-all card, is that Super Saiyan Blue would be superior to Super Saiyan 4. However, because they exist in separate continuities, and there's no direct in-universe comparison, this, of course, remains a topic of debate amongst fans. So, this is where I leave you guys.
