What's going on everyone, Slex here for this SCY mod video. I want to feature a mod called Lock Overhaul, and then with this mod, it changes how you can unlock locked objects in the game with new ways to unlock them, such as autolock, peeing, smashing, or breaking the lock, and a spell that can open locks. And the other feature of the mod is that you can set requirements, so that if you don't meet or exceed that skill requirement, you'll be unable to unlock that locked object. All right, so on the general tab of this mod, when you first install it, you'll be able to configure it to your liking. You can activate lock requirements, meaning that you won't be able to pick a lock until you meet that skill requirement. These are all based on lockpicking, your lockpicking skill. There's also autolockpicking, meaning that if you approach a door and you meet the skill requirement, you can autopick it, and this will cost you a couple of lockpicks or maybe, you know, ranging from

like 1 to five based on your skill to unlock the door. It's kind of a random thing, so you can do that instead of using the mini-game. Another way to unlock locked objects, excuse the quick save there, is by using weapons. So, if you have a one-hand or two-hand weapon, you can swing it at the lock to break the lock. So, that's smashing the locks. And, of course, if you don't want that feature, you could just turn on or off. You can set the skill requirements here based on your one-and or two-handed levels, and you can change the allowed weapon types to be only two-handed weapons, two and one-handed weapons, or all weapons. So, I'll go ahead and demonstrate that right now with a pickaxe. And if guards are nearby, they'll report you, or if an NPC around is nearby that reports crimes, that report you to the guard. So, you can't get in trouble for breaking locks. Yep, see, I'm in trouble now. And another way is to use spells to unlock the door. Oops, pull that spell up.

I'll show the menu here too, so this is kind of like the maroin kind of unlocking door spell. Based on your Alteration level, you can use it to unlock a door or, you know, anything that's locked, pretty much. Excuse me, if I say unlock a door, I mean all containers that are locked or objects, I should say. All right, so with this spell, if you enable it, you'll get the spell. You don't have to find the spell; you'll just get it, receive it from the mod straight away, and then it's based on your Alteration level. So that if you change these around, it'll be based on Alteration level, meaning that you have to have 100 skill in Alteration to unlock a master lock with a spell. And this also too makes this sound. Did I not? There we go. And of course, if you're nearby the guards, they'll report you. So all right, the last thing I want to feature right now, and if you do go up to, uh, if you do set the skill requirements and you're unable to unlock a door, you'll get a

prompt in the upper left and corner. I'll demonstrate that right after this, actually saying that it's too hard for you to unlock. So, another feature of this mod is that you can do the skill increasing, Dynamic skill increasement or not. Now, earlier when I used my pickaxe against a door, you saw my one-hand weapon level go up, and that was because I have the allow skill increasing on. So, you can change this to your liking as well if you're using perk mods or whatever and make it more realistic for your player. There's also a sound effect, so you can turn that on or off. You can also change the volume, which is really neat, so to make it louder or softer. And I'll go ahead and do the quick save and demonstrate the requirement. All right, so that's just Nova's door. So, pretty much anyone can open that door at level one. And of course, you can change it to your liking with the configuration menu. It's Novis. I believe there's an appren door over

here all right so for this one my locking picking excuse me my lock picking skill on this character is only 20. So this means that I won't be able to do the auto lock pick command as well. And then even if I do try to pick this lock manually my lockpick will break every time. So it's just it's not worth my time try to lockpick it. See that was pretty much a guaranteed pick and it broke. And if I but my one and weapon skill is above level 25 which the pr store is currently locked at. So I can break it and increase my skill as well. It's pretty nice and there you go. So again this is lock overhaul and it's a very awesome mod mod and I love how the mod comes with a configuration menu with MCM. So this means it will need to have skyui as well as Skyrim script extender. But it's really nice how you can pretty much customize everything to your liking in game without having to mess with any files or you know use one of those uh

Skyrim powers back in the day before mod configuration menu where you would have to change everything using the scrolling side menu. Yeah, anyway, so it's a really awesome mod. Be sure to check it out, especially since it looks like smash locks and locks doors is um uh um no longer updated, but this one offers a lot more features than the other one, especially the skill requirements.
