The shortcuts don't work, the distractions and temptations overwhelm, and change is terrifying. How did they climb this mountain before them? This book, I guess, is a guide to that. keep you small, weak, and miserable. Living life as a heroic deed and committing to the way of the warrior is the shest path to Victory, both inside and out. This book is dedicated to Reviving the hero and young man, inspiring a new culture of connection and excellence in the leaders of tomorrow. My friends, I want to talk about something not many people mention when it comes to personal transformation, self-actualization, living your strongest life. I've got, I've got a question for you: what is the most important thing when it comes to radical personal transformation? Is it surrender, is it letting go, is it relationships and support from others and mentors and learning and books and experiences, is it um, you know, is it faith, is it discipline, is it hard work? All of those are good answers, and anything you're thinking of is probably a fine answer, but what is most important? Heroism. Now, that sounds melodramatic, and a lot of people don't understand that concept fully, so we're going to investigate it a little bit more here.

A few years ago, when I started writing that book, actually right before everything fell apart, okay, I went through heartbreak. I lost the love of my life. I went through an iasa initiation type experience in the forest. I, you know, basically had to give up my old YouTube channel, my business, my home, my lover, my community, and become something new. And I had to shed these deep attachments, these deep addictions inside of me. And it was hard. I remember being in the desert of Sedona, crying and fasting and not knowing what the I am doing and just feeling all of this pain, doubt, fear, and worry inside of me. And right there is where the heroic path wasn't asked of me, it was demanded of me. And I realized something, that life hits so hard, we don't know when tragedy is going to come and also so much of is

asked of us if we really want to become the man who we who we could be who we are inside. We have to face so much fear and resistance, and this idea of facing fear and resistance really started to boil inside of me. And it really came down to when do I feel great, what is the purpose of living, why are we doing all of this, and it came down to progress, to grow, to celebrate the essence of what life is, to elevate the feeling of life and energy and love and power inside of us. And what creates that, what creates that growth, that progress, that change, and it's overcoming who you were and who you are to rise into something new. The heroic path was asked to me then, and I had no idea what I was doing, and there was so much to face, but I knew I had to be and grow into a man of action and a man of courage, and I had to change so much. The heroic path guided me along the way. I want to read you just a little bit of the end of my story in

here, I thought that after a month-long initiation experience, that life would simply open up to a beautiful new beginning. But old patterns die hard, and the internal battles that I managed for years only intensified when I dedicated myself to a higher path. I thought initiation and letting go was all I needed, but that was only the start. The work had yet to come, the work of slaying dragons. A lot of people say all you need to do is let go, release, surrender, and you'll become something new, which is true to some degree, but we have to understand that release is feminine, consolidation and penetration is masculine. One of the main dragons, if not the main Dragon, we all face is resistance. We face resistance every single day of our lives. I have resistance to getting on a live stream like this. You have resistance to maybe waking up and going for a run or doing the creative project that you want to do, or having the courage to go approach something. We have immense resistance towards what actually makes

us grow. Okay, and this is why most people never grow. They stay stuck in miserable and more and more dull and restricted lives because they don't have the courage to consistently face resistance. When I moved to Austin in my van after the desert, I had this dream of being an author. I was so stoked, you know, like under the stars, so inspired. I was like, I'm gonna write a book. Only problem was, I didn't know how to write. I sucked at writing, and I didn't have the discipline to do anything day after day. I never had the discipline to even write for more than an hour. And all of a sudden, like, I was like, had all this doubt and resistance, and I was like, How am I going to do this right? Just going to a coffee shop in the morning and trying to write for one hour, there was so much. It was a hellish battle, and that battle didn't end every single time I sat down to write. I had to endure it over and over and over. But to do anything worthy, I

realized in my life, I had to become a master of resistance. I had to learn how to fight this battle and win it because it's always going to be there, whether it's writing, working on something, whether it's just going to the gym, having a consistent spiritual meditation practice, whatever it is, there is resistance, and resistance is what is blocking you from deepening your life right now. If you were living as if this was your final day on Earth, what would you do, right? If you were living as if this was your final five or 10 years on Earth, how would you spend it, right? And we'd probably break through that resistance to rise into the grief, into the suffering, into the day, into the night, into the morning, into every single part of it with fire and inside of us because the deepest nature inside of us wants to live fully, wants to create, wants to bring forth what is within, and I love that quote from Jesus, If we can bring forth what is within us, what is within us will save us, but if we do not.

bring forth what is within. What is within will destroy us. Resistance is there in every single part of your life. In the chapter one of my favorite chapters on self-overcoming, I talk about the little man. And the little man is often what rules our life. The little man is like, Yo, let's go check that freezer at midnight for a little bit more ice cream. The little man's like, Let me just hit that snooze for the fifth time. The little man's like, I'm gonna skip the gym. Or the little man gets to the gym and he's like, You know what, I'm gonna half-ass it on the pull-ups today. I'm gonna half-ass it on the squats. The little man doesn't go approach the cute girl. The little man half-asses his work. He doesn't live All-in. He wants life to be easy and finds any way to scapegoat life. And that little man, that little man inside your head sitting on your shoulder, is the voice of resistance. And every single time we can say no to the little man.

go forward into life, a feeling of victory ensues, a feeling of living at our edge. And I alluded to this earlier, but what is happiness but the feeling of a resistance overcome, right? I've been reflecting on this a lot recently in my life. Is this feeling of like, Wow, I've made it to this point where I feel very balanced. I have a really deep practice and creative and spiritual practice in my life, and I have some new friends, old friends. But why do I still get dissatisfied? Why does life not feel totally full? And I just keep coming back to this fact that it never ends. The problems, the challenges, the struggles, the suffering of life never ends. And you know, I talk a lot about Nietzsche on this channel, and Nietzsche's whole philosophy was like, Hey, it never ends, so make it awesome. Make that the meaning of life. Make the overcoming, make the rise and the down-going and the rise the meaning of life. And I think there's something so true there when we can look at our day and be like, Where is my edge?

today in my spiritual practice, in my creative practice, in my relationships, you know, in my personal training, like just in living, right in this moment. Where's your Edge in this moment? Is it sitting up a little bit straighter, breathing deeper, bringing the full force of your spirit to bear on the task in front of you? The more we can live at our Edge, the more, the more, the more energy, the more Vitality, the more power we create in life, and really that's what we all want. I talk a lot about, I've been talking a lot about heroism and Power in my recent videos, and we're going to continue on that thread again. Go get the book if you want the full, the full guide on that, but there's this reflection that often comes up in N when I'm reading him is that we think we want so many different things, right? We want more love and intimacy, we want, you know, to be successful in our work, we want a greater spiritual connection, we want better relationships, we want, you know

more money we want. There's so many things at the foundation of all of it. The deepest desire of life is for more power. It's an increase of power, and power gets a bad rra. People associate it with all these weird authoritarianism and control of others, and I get that. The power I'm talking about is personal power, and the increase of personal power comes when we can overcome who we were, when we can go deeper into our craft, deeper into life, when we can rise that energy inside of us. And the thing is, power grows through heroism. The more heroism we can enact in life, the more limitations we overcome, the more our power grows. Right? What is in opposition to power, what creates power, right, is resistance. There's this fear, there's this ring of resistance around our personal power, and that resistance is marked by The Three Dragons of stagnation is what I talk about in the book. That is resistance, fear, and blindness, right? Blindness is ignorance. It's ignorance to the opportunity we have in this moment. Blindness is not aiming the arrow.

of our highest hope, and having a goal, having an aspiration that we go towards. Right, we've talked a lot about resistance, and we talked talk a lot about fear, and these things mark this comfort zone, and power can only increase through facing one of these dragons. Most people don't understand this about self-transformation, is that it always takes heroism, it always takes a breakthrough, it always takes a surrendering and an overcoming of some kind, it always takes living at your Edge, it takes the heroic energy, and this is why Joseph Campbell said that the hero is the impulse of creation of generation, it's what overcomes things, what it's what creates change, and honestly, it's why the hero is a center and source of all of our stories and culture itself, it's the center of culture, is that heroic myth, and it's because it's the most important thing when it comes to living life well and fulfilling the purpose and the meaning of creation, which is growth, which is progress, which is change, the hero, heroism is what is going to allow

you to flourish and bring the most transformation and increase of power into your life. That increase of power is going to let you be more free to travel of the earth, to sing the true tune of your soul, to express your gifts fully, to have the money, the relationships, the wealth, the resources to fully Thrive. This why we should not seek happiness, we should seek power. Happiness, flourishing, success, well-being, Enlightenment, self-actualization, those are all the symptoms, those are all the effects of an increase of personal power and the Integrity to hold that power and bring it into the world.
