The time is now six o'clock p.m. It is 86 Fahrenheit, 30 Celsius. I'm on my way to the financial district, doing a little bit of a walk, and let's see if I could find my glasses that flew off my face from yesterday during tropical storm Isaias. I think that's how you officially say Isaias or Isaias. I don't know. [Music] Let's give it a try in America. Three, yes, I have plenty of spares, but I'm just looking for my glasses for fun. If I don't find it, it's not a big deal. See, I got new glasses. All right, let's look. My guess is it's not going to be anywhere near where it blew off yesterday. It's probably in the river now, but this is going to be fun.

That's how strong the wind was. I never experienced that before. I went, the wind pushed me from there to here, and I had to hide behind the building because the wind was coming this way. Well, let's see if I could find my glasses on the other side of the street. Well, you know what? I didn't even look thoroughly over here because if the wind was blowing this way, and I

lost my glasses over here. Then it's probably on that side of the building because the wind's all pushing over there. Maybe I'll give it a block like up that way. Hey, look, it's the Staten Island Ferry. Taking the Staten Island Ferry on this day would be a much better choice than during yesterday's tropical storm. There was a point I thought I wasn't going to get off that boat. It was raining through the window, the doors were opening and closing by

themselves. The waves were rough. They were shutting down the ferry early. So much drama yesterday. And then even docking into Staten Island, the ferry was like docking to the left, and I was like, uh-oh, we're not going to make it. But thankfully, the boat captain or whoever was commandeering the boat has a lot of experience. Oh my goodness, I just saw this. Look, look, look. I walked through here yesterday. Oh my gosh, I'm glad I did not walk through here when this tree broke. If anyone saw my video from yesterday, I walked through here. Oh my gosh, this could have been me under the tree. I'm glad I didn't come here when the tree fell. Oh my gosh, wow, what a difference. Let me show you the moment on my other channel where I walk through here. Okay, I found it. So this tree was still standing yesterday. Here it is. That's the tree, same tree. I don't know when this tree went down, but I'm glad I was not under it. Let's go up the Hudson River.

Just to change up this walk, I don't want this walk to be entirely about the financial district and me talking about the hurricane. I mean the tropical storm yesterday. I'm sure the Statue of Liberty has a lot to say about yesterday's storm. Lady Liberty did not take a break from yesterday. She was out there the entire day and night and during the 50-60 mile-an-hour winds. Plus, someone wants me to check the bin for my glasses. I'm finished looking for my glasses. I said the most I was gonna take was like half an hour, 40 minutes, but it was more like 15, 20 minutes. That's all I'm gonna spend. [Music] Toilet bush saying, Look for my umbrella. Well, the umbrella I put in next to the garbage bag so that I have even less faith looking for it because it's broken. The trash collection probably already took it. So Lady Liberty's wearing my glasses. Well, maybe she is because right now the only view I have of Lady Liberty is from the side. How can I see Labor Liberties wearing my glasses if I don't see her from the front? Where was it? It was in Long Island. Maybe we'll see some more tree.

When I was recording in Astoria Park this afternoon, of course, there's caution tape there. So we got to walk up right up to it. Let's go. Let's see what's going on here. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Um, sure. Many bugs perished yesterday in the storm too, and many birds too. I didn't see a single bird flying around yesterday in the storm. I wonder where they all flew to. And Shannon's asking me how I like the DJI Osmo Pocket. I like it very much. It was the first time I used it out in public and took me a little bit, a while to adjust, but considering it was during a tropical storm and I was able to handle that equipment already, I'd say it was good enough. All right, let's go through Battery Park City now. What? This area of Battery Park City didn't have a single tree that fell down. Look, all the trees are intact. How come these trees survived? Maybe it's because of the direction of the wind. You know, I've been noticing a lot of

things too with the trees. It seemed like the taller trees and the sturdier ones, those are the ones that fell or had damage to them, and the younger trees, they survived. Maybe it's because the larger trees, they're so stiff already and rooted into the ground, they weren't flexible enough to handle all those winds. So, as a result, they try to resist the wind so much. They're probably like this, like, Oh, I'm a tree, I'm stiff, I'm big and strong, I can handle it. And then there's only so much you can do staying stiff, and then all of a sudden, you just snap. But the younger trees, when you see the younger trees, they just blow like this, and they're very flimsy. Those, they move with the wind, so they survive. [Music] So here's the area of Battery Park City that I really like, the waterfront lawn. There's some tall trees over here too, but they didn't fall like me for you saying palm trees are the most assistant. That makes a lot of sense because

they're used to that kind of weather. If you ever go to like the Caribbean where there's a lot of palm trees or Hawaii, you'll see a little handle inclement weather with no problem. In fact, the way palm trees reproduce, this is why they have coconuts, because when there's big winds, the winds will knock the coconuts off the trees. The coconuts will float on the ocean, and the ocean will carry the coconuts to another island or another place, and they'll grow another tree from the coconut. All right, waterfront. Now how come it seems like Battery Park got a lot of damage, but Battery Park City, there's like barely any fallen trees or twigs or branches at all. Kind of strange. All these trees are intact, and then over here, look interesting. We'll get to see more vegetation as they walk up. Yeah, Anthony is probably the angle as well, because I gotta drop my leaf. I dropped my leaf. I'm keeping this leaf because it's good luck. But anyway, I think it was the angle of the winds.

because when I was down there by the financial district, the wind was only blowing from over here, like this way. And if you look, there's a lot of tall buildings over here, so they were blocking a lot of the wind. That's probably why all these trees here are still standing. [Music] And then Battery Park has all this open area, so the winds are exposed to the trees first. And then when I walked up Broad Street, there was barely any wind because all the buildings blocked it away. What a difference from yesterday. It's like so peaceful and calm now.
