I think these geese are clearing out from me now. They're not too fond of me following them, so a lot of geese here. [Applause] Let's go chase some of them. Hey, come on. I guess they're not too happy about that. Yo, get back here. All right, it's enough fun with the geese. Pretty treacherous area here with all this snow and wet slush. Look, there's even more geese down that way.

looks like the geese also left some more presents for me in the snow. Gotta make sure to avoid that. Well, this is a pretty treacherous ramp here. I'm gonna have to climb uphill on a sheet of ice, so I'm gonna take it really slow. Gosh, better hold on to this railing the whole time. Definitely scary. The city should like clear this out. Feels like it's getting steep right now, and with ice, if I slip and fall, I'm going to be sliding down this whole ramp. Actually, it's clearing up up there, so it's not that bad. Almost slipped there. Well, just one foot. Susan, you think most of the saw was used on Times Square? I think so. All right, I made a pass. Goodness gracious, we got some more here. All right, good, this is shoveled. Look at that car traffic on the Grand Central Parkway. I won't have to deal with that. We've got another ramp over here. Let's see the conditions of... oh boy. All right, I'm getting ready for this.

I could sit on my butt and slide the whole way down, but then there's going to be nothing for me to break, so let's do it the same way coming up. This is arguably more dangerous going down because it's whoa. You know what? I'm uh, I'm not even stepping right now. I'm just letting it take me to where I need to go and just slide along with the ice because it's too uh, dangerous to step right now. I'm sliding, I'm sliding, but I'm holding the railing. Oh, what the heck? What happened? Gosh, this has to be the most dangerous start to an action kid video yet. Geese, ice going up and down this bridge or this ramp. Just gotta take it slow, that's all. Oh gosh [Applause]. It's safer not to step, just slide. Maybe I shouldn't have taken this overpass. I should have found another one. Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh. The left side is not any better. All right, I'm almost done to the bottom.

I actually see him coming down right now. This squirrel here is laughing at me. I wish I had that rodent's agility to cross over like that easily. But let's see what overpass this is. This is 62nd Avenue and I guess the Grand Central Parkway service road. All right, 62nd Avenue. All right, I see the man right now. He's actually going down sideways with the railing on two feet. That's actually not a bad technique as well. Maybe we'll get to see him coming down. Yeah, right there. But 62nd Avenue overpass definitely needs to be shoveled or salted. My gosh, this is a frequently used bridge too. That guy's just sliding down it, and then there's another person walking up and having a difficult time. But yeah, right now I'm in the neighborhood of Corona, Queens.

Gerald of Wills, thank you very much. As you can tell, the sidewalks and the streets in Queens are not as well shoveled as Midtown Manhattan, where I went yesterday. [Music] Toyota Sienna got out of this parking space. It was a little tricky though. Craig's saying shoveling will be a waste of time. Well, they got to do something about it, shoveling, icing it. Anything's better than nothing right now, just leave it in that condition. The biggest culprits in the um, not shoveling their sidewalk category are vacant lots, buildings for lease, and construction.

sites I find that many of those places are not shoveled properly, as well as overpasses like that. I'm walking in the street because it's safer than walking on the sidewalk. There s1 at least throw some salt or kitty litter on the ramp. Well, anything that has some kind of traction, sand. I've seen salt, kitty litter works too, even cardboard will help a lot better. We are going in here underneath the scaffolding. This is Corona, Queens right now, residential building going up next to me. I want to head towards the main part of Corona, Queens. The next one is 108th Street, not too far away from here. Then I can head north. It was kind of worth it because I went back. I saw on Google Maps these are the Queens community houses next to me. Queens community houses [Applause]. In front of me is the management office for this community. This is the Q38 bus, but it doesn't look like it's running. Hopefully, it doesn't have any mechanical.

issues I've noticed. Some buses are ready with mechanical issues. They weren't able to move or they just broke down. There's one passenger on that bus. All right, 108th street and 62nd drive. I'm gonna head north past the Long Island Expressway. There's some new construction going up here. That's pretty neat. Wonder where I put my stylus. I can't find it. All right, I got it. Another hard street to come across coming up right by the Long Island Expressway service road. Sidewalk closed. Please use sidewalk. Leandro saying NYC. If you could scaffold here, you could scaffold anywhere. That's one thing I missed about being in Boston was the lack of tons of scaffolding all over the place. That's a pretty large pothole there. 108th street and the intersection.

I think I'll be reporting that one later. This is 108th Street and Penrod Street. I think very shortly we're going to see the Lemon Ice King of Corona, Queens. This area shoveled pretty well. It was only the overpass. We've got Waldron Street and 108th Streets and Gazelle Kande saying I'm about to pass by the best empanadas of Queens. Which store would that be? I do know there's some good empanada places around here. I'm gonna wait for the light to change because there's no way I'm gonna get around the snow mound and crossing time. Corona Cafe, GL108 Laundromat, Jeffrey saying King of Queen's Lemon Ice. I mean, it would be a good idea to get ice, but not today. It's freezing out. There's a lot of restaurants around here, some Italian restaurants as well. There's a pizza place here I tried, which was pretty good. There it is, Lemon Ice King of Corona. I saw another one get ices over there. Lemon Ice King, two ices. There's the pizzeria I tried, Corona Pizzeria. They're pretty good. We've got a taekwondo store next to an optical store, which, well, this is strange. It's like this

building is hollow, and the optical store is in the back. Jaguar is saying a video store in 2021. I guess they're still around, right? Here's Mariah's deli and grocery and authentic tropical fruits. Lorena's, let's take a look at that. Aha, so Lorena's fruits, they do a lot of fruit-based stuff. Hawaiian dog, organic juices, ensalada de frutas. Oh man, this banana split looks good. Wow, kope the gelato. Oh, look at that. I'm gonna have to come back here in the spring or the summer and try that banana split. And banana splits are meant to be shared. There's a lumber supply place: bricks, blocks, pavers, sand, cement. Oh boy, this is gonna be tricky to walk across. Let's walk on the snowy part. Now it's much easier. It's hard to even make out anything in

the sky because the sky is so white right now. When I was in the park earlier, I heard a few planes go by, but I could not see them. Um, what happened here? All the traffic lights are out. None of these are working. Yeah, this whole intersection, all the lights are out. There's cardboard over here. Oh, I see what the problem is. Look, there's a hanging wire over here and some more over here and another one over here. That's probably part of the problem, but I'm not an electrician, so I don't know if that wire feeds power to those traffic signals. Another wire that's hanging. Ian's saying those weren't power lines, they're just cable for phones and such. Okay, I hope you're right because that's a lot safer than having electrical lines down. I can't really tell the difference between an electrical line and a cable line or a phone line. [Music] So [Music] [Music] So this cycle should be on the street here. Okay, they were just parking their bike on the sidewalk there.

maybe they're delivering something, but this is Corona Avenue and 103rd Street. Got another cable loose. [Music] And yet another one over here. This one's actually swinging around now that I notice it. There's a lot of cables down. Here's another one here. This probably must have just happened due to the recent snow. They probably can't attend to it all the time or quickly enough. Gustavo Sierra saying Sevilla Salon is the best salon of the area, and you've been there. Awesome Sevilla Salon. I just saw it too. I think they were like a block or two back. So local supermarket across the street, Ideal Food Basket. Wonder if I should go this way. It's tricky because some areas it's hard to pass through. There's dead ends in this neighborhood. There's a set of train tracks here that you can only cross in certain areas. I think this way you're able to cross 102nd Street and Nichols Avenue. Oh great, I can't cross under the train tracks here. I see an underpass. Perfect.

some more wires hanging. All right, we got some snow over here, which looks a little bit dangerous across, so I'll try to walk in the street if I can. Let's wait till this car passes. There's a Long Island Railroad train passing, and Roosevelt Avenue is not too far from here. Roosevelt Avenue is where the 7 train runs, 45th Avenue and 102nd Streets. Oh, think I just tilted the gimbal a little bit. [Music] Tricky. This could have been shoveled a little bit better. Back saying, does the sanitation department also take care of the snow? Yeah, for the most part, the sanitation department is responsible for keeping the streets clear, but the sidewalks are the responsibility of the property owners. Sometimes that's the city, and the sanitation department still has to clean it, so that's the way it works here. This is actually a section of Corona, Queens, which I have not explored before. Henry's Deli Market looks like there's some more places up here. Let's cross over and take a look.

mama lupe restaurant dominican restaurant looks pretty good calmira dominicana lunch. They have omelette, mango, American breakfast, pepper steak, rabbo guizado. That looks good. Oh, they've got my fungo too. That looks delicious. All right, another spot on my list. I might have to try and come back. Outdoor seating area. Speaking in which, indoor dining is going to be allowed to resume on Friday at 25% capacity in New York City. Wow, seriously. There's a kung fu tea over here. I guess kung fu tea fits in with any neighborhood. Wasn't sure where that person was gonna go. He had his phone out, looked like he was gonna go left at first, and then he's gonna go right. Rotisserie chicken. Ooh, I can smell it through the window. Coming up, we're gonna have the 7 train subway at 103rd street, Corona Plaza, Neon99 saying my fungal empanadas. [Music] Now we're going saying it's a poorly designed avenue. I have to agree with you on that. Should have been designed a lot more pedestrian-friendly and with safer lanes. Right now, this is just all bunched up. Look at the size of this snow pile. That's going to take a while to melt. This place is for sale. You have to deal with the subway noise, though, as you can tell right here. Oh, look at this. There's a construction site here, but the sidewalk is shoveled. Props to this construction company. The LIRR machine shed is still called Shea Stadium. Wow, that's amazing. I didn't know that. I have to look at that. That might be cool. The tracks are all snowing. All right, let's go to the other side. Let's see if we can find that public waterfront, which I recorded about two, three weeks ago. That was useless because it led to nowhere. If anyone remembers that video, we could probably see it somewhere. Let's see. Let's pass this. This is the Van Wyck Expressway coming up. Ah, here it is. That's the public waterfront that leads to a dead end, but once that's finished, it's going to

connect to Northern Boulevard, but right now it's pretty useless. Ian Gardner, thanks for showing that you had no idea was there. Yeah, it was a really interesting discovery. It's actually one of my moderators who posted a video about it, Tech Explorer NYC, and I had to discover it for myself. Just a quick heads-up, folks, I might lose service in here in this tunnel. We are going underground, and there's not much service here. There's nothing to see now. You could have done your taxes done by this time tomorrow. Matt is asking how do I like the Boston Tea compared to the New York subway. I mean, I thought the tea was pretty efficient. The only thing I didn't like about the tea was that it didn't really go to all the places I wanted it to go. It wasn't as extensive as the subway, but I did like the fact that it was very clean. It ran quite frequently from what I could tell, and there was internet service in between the tunnels, which was just mind-blowing to me.

I also like the fact that it had light rail and heavy rail. The underground bus was kind of neat but not my preferred method of transportation. All right, I might lose service here. All right, we're pulling into the station now. The bookish horse will say not if I was in Boston. At least this subway tunnel segment is really short. This is the last stop on this train, everyone. Please lead the train. Thank you for riding with MTA New York City Transit. Robin's saying the MTA was supposed to wire all the subway stations and the tunnels, but they didn't. And now we're stuck with having service only at the platforms and at the elevated sections. But we are going to Main Street right now and see what's happening and flushing since I left. Also, it's curious to come here because Chinese New Year is on Friday, and maybe we could see some preparations for that coming up Main Street in Roseville Avenue. I don't really see too many decorations up. I don't see any, just a lot of people and a lot of

traffic as usual here. Maybe I'll head towards the library. That's always a hot area. This sand here always has a lot of stuff for sale for Chinese New Year during that time. I don't know if this is gonna be copyrighted. Now I did contact someone I know who is part of a lion dance group. They are going to have some lion dance performances in the Chinatowns, but it's going to be reduced because of COVID restrictions and people are afraid of getting sick. So there won't be as many out as they were last year, which is understandable. I think there'll be some smaller celebrations around the city though. Ian Garner asking if there's a parade at all. I was looking at the website and I think most of the festivities they want to postpone until the spring, but there's no firecrackers this year. I always look forward to that firecracker performance. That was close. Gosh, I'm walking here. I had the walk signal and he's still trying to turn.

meanwhile, let the other car go because I didn't want to get hit, but I almost got hit by the car behind it in the process. All right, what flushing library still has the Christmas tree up? Why?
