hey School community, so I'm coming at you live from uh Boulder, Colorado in the mountains here, and N talks about how your best and true ideas come while in the open air, hiking, walking, doing things like that, and I've been trying recently to write my video scripts through dictation while I'm walking, and honestly, it helps the creative process a lot because instead of like getting cramped up writing in a room or in a coffee shop, you can let your ideas flow a lot more naturally, and I think if you're working through a problem or you're trying to learn something like listening and walking at the same time or dictating and walking at the same time is the best way to solve problems, um, so this is really I remember when I was writing my book and I was really overwhelmed with the volume of chapters, I'm trying to reorganize and restructure, and it was just giving me a headache for weeks on end and so frustrating. I remember just going for a walk and ranting like a madman into my speaker phone until like

the Muse comes through with the message with the structure because what you're trying to do is you're trying to access the subconscious mind, which can actually hold ideas that big our conscious mind can't hold. The full idea of a book. The subconscious mind can't articulate and hold the full idea of a song or even a video, really. So you need to commune with something deeper, and I think that's what a lot of philosophers, great artists have done. They figured out a practice of, hey, I'm going to walk and I'm going to think through my masterpiece. And we have this beautiful technology of phones now, so you can just walk and dictate. You can just talk to your phone. Like I just wrote a whole video script about Shadow work walking up here and just like thinking about it, listening to a little lecture about it, thinking more, more about it, and speaking into my phone the whole time. And then I can come up here and just relax 'cause I got it done. I just think that idea is really important.

is and I'm trying to do it a lot more. Is walk and dictate super simple peace. Okay, this is the morning after and now I'm sitting down at my desk to do the editing to do the more difficult work of actually adding form, adding structure to the ideas. And this is also a step most people miss. Um, is the revision process that it takes to make something really good. A lot of people don't know this, but most of my video scripts I rewrite five to seven times. That means I'm spending a couple hours every single morning writing and editing. And most great authors, most great writers, most great creators, they do this. It's not the first try that you're seeing. It's like the seventh to 10th try that is the final product. And this is what makes something really good. Is how do you remove the fluff? How do you remove the meat? How do you make it punchy and profound? And this comes from working with the scalpel. In my book, I talk about Adventure mode and then Precision mode or like editing mode.

they're two different things adventure mode do it walking and then when it's time to edit you got to use the scalpel and it's it's a very different process and I just wanted to add this in there because this is just as important peace
