There will be a shortage because we cannot keep up with the demand. Secondly, lighter models that can replace data centers will emerge, specifically on-device solutions. Lastly, there will be service areas that AI will bring closer to our actual lives. Let's take a closer look at these three directions. First, let's look at the energy sector. Microsoft announced that it will restart the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, which is a contract to receive power for the next 20 years. The plant had been shut down due to economic feasibility issues but will be operational again after nine years. This indicates that obtaining power will become more challenging in the future, suggesting that data centers will operate even more intensively. It’s not just Microsoft that is moving in this direction; Google is also looking into nuclear power for data centers.

Big tech companies are genuinely investing in nuclear power. Securing energy is approached not just from a short-term perspective, but also from a long-term one. If we are to invest in nuclear power, we must adopt a long-term view as well. Currently, looking at uranium prices, we see that they have risen significantly. After the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011, there was a strong aversion to nuclear power, and prices dropped considerably. However, since last year, prices have started to rise, and this year they have surged. This indicates that the value is increasing. With the rapid expansion of AI, the fields of nuclear power, wind power, and hydropower are also gaining momentum. Among these, the reason nuclear power is receiving strong support is that it can provide a continuous energy supply regardless of the weather. The U.S. government, regardless of political affiliation, has begun to unite in support of nuclear power. Since 2020, the approval ratings have continued to rise.

You can see how important nuclear power is as an energy source from this chart. It emphasizes that nuclear power is necessary for America's bright future. It would be great if our investments align in the same direction. In the last weekly briefing, I introduced nuclear-related ETFs, and now I’m showing you three representative nuclear ETFs in the U.S. In terms of asset size, URA is the largest, while NLR has the lowest total expense ratio. Which ETF is the best among the three? If we look at the number of companies invested in, URA has the most at 51, while NLR has the least at 26. We need to consider whether to focus and concentrate our investments or to diversify and expand them. Personally, I think URA, with its large asset size and number of invested companies, looks good. We approach it from a professional standpoint, analyzing companies within ETFs while digging deeper into their characteristics. Once you get to know these three ETFs, you start to think about which companies are included in all of them. The fact that the well-performing management companies have selected similar firms indicates that these companies are garnering interest from everyone. Three years ago, when I was studying the metaverse, I noticed NVIDIA appearing in various places and thought to myself that this company would achieve something significant. Now, let's take a look at the overlapping companies among these three ETFs. There are 12 companies that all three ETFs invest in. That's more than I expected. Since the industry itself is small, the companies involved tend to have similar characteristics. Let's examine the 12 companies right away. Upon reviewing them one by one, I found some companies facing challenges and others with very small market capitalizations. Among the 12 companies, New York...

I looked at the companies listed on the NASDAQ exchange, and it turns out that only six of them have survived, which is exactly half. The companies on the right are those we can directly invest in. Let's take a closer look at these six companies related to nuclear power. If we look at their market capitalizations, there is one company that stands out with a significantly larger size: Cameco. Its market capitalization is 22.5 billion dollars, which converts to about 30 trillion won. In terms of companies in Korea, it is comparable to POSCO. As for the order of market capitalizations for the other companies, we have NextEra Energy, Uranium Energy, and Denison Mines. Let's check the stock charts of these global companies with market capitalizations exceeding 1 billion dollars. Here is the stock chart from the beginning of the year to now. Cameco is in blue, and it has fallen the least during the downturn and has risen the most during this rebound. The current return is at 20%.

Uranium Energy is at 8%, while NexGen Energy is at -1%. Cameco appears to be the most favorable company, so let's take a closer look at what it is. Cameco is a company that specializes in uranium production. It was established in 1988, which means it is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, making it 36 years old. This year, its main businesses include development, production, processing, and sales, and it supplies uranium to nuclear power plants worldwide. They supply to 34 nuclear facilities globally. In terms of revenue distribution, 64% comes from the Americas, 19% from Asia, and 17% from Europe. As stable power supply from data centers becomes increasingly important, nuclear power is becoming more vital, and major tech companies are entering the nuclear sector, so we need to pay attention to this. Looking at what experts think about Cameco, they believe there is potential for about an 11% increase in the future. A total of nine experts responded.

Many are shouting for strong buying. When I mention this, there are sometimes people who ask if there are any ETFs available for investment in Korea. So, I looked for domestic nuclear power ETFs and found three: the Rise Global Nuclear ETF, the Ace Nuclear Theme ETF, and the Hanaro Nuclear ETF. Now, can we just invest in any of these three? Absolutely not. We need to look at how many companies these ETFs hold and check their respective weights. So, I found the top three companies included in these ETFs. Interestingly, we can see that the two on the right are domestic nuclear companies. This means they contain companies listed in Korea. However, if we look at the Rise ETF on the left, we can see that it includes a mix of domestic and foreign companies. The company Cameco, which I mentioned earlier, is included in the top three. Nonetheless, even with that...

The weight is somewhat small. For those who want to invest only in overseas companies, you can invest in overseas-listed ETFs that I mentioned earlier, such as the Euro ETFs. If you want to mix domestic and overseas investments, you can invest in Rise Global Nuclear. However, if you only want to include domestic listed companies, you can choose from the two options on the right. You must think carefully about the direction you want to invest in when selecting stocks. Additionally, I compared the returns of three ETFs. This is a chart from January of last year to the present. Rise Global Nuclear has increased by 114%, making it the highest performer. The second is Hanaro Nuclear, and the third is Ace Nuclear Theme. All three have outperformed the domestic index, showing that the nuclear theme is experiencing strong growth. Let's move on to the second part, where we discuss the channels we know.

Let's consider the second AI investment point: on-device technology. You may have heard of it, but what does it really mean? Today, I'll explain it very simply, as it's not difficult to understand. Please listen and think about whether it seems promising.

Currently, the way we use AI is by asking questions and receiving answers through a PC, with ChatGPT being a representative example. As the versions continue to upgrade, the response speed has increased, and when given time to think, it begins to engage in deeper reasoning. This is possible because the questions I ask are sent to a data center, where extensive computation takes place to derive the answers. To send data, an internet connection is obviously required.

However, on-device technology resolves everything within the smartphone I have, meaning it can function without an internet connection.

It is a way to solve problems within my smartphone, rather than deriving them externally. You might think it would be better to visit a data center, but the questions we ask and the problems we need to solve are usually quite simple, such as what time it is or what the weather is like. Therefore, there are many things that can be easily derived. This means that we don't need a GPU for complex calculations; instead, we need an MPU that can easily handle lightweight operations. It's small and compact, allowing it to fit anywhere, which is why we refer to it as on-device. 

Thus, the direction of investment will differ based on these two aspects. Let's take a look at which companies fall into these categories. First, regarding cloud AI, we see that the AI models of Microsoft, Meta, and Google are fundamentally embedded. Companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Oracle play a supporting role for these AI models. Since NVIDIA has a monopoly on GPUs, its stock price is currently experiencing significant fluctuations.

There has been an increase. If we look at it on all devices, major companies like Microsoft, Meta, and Google are using large language models and have on-device versions of their AI models. The components involved are changing, and here, Apple and Qualcomm are included. This structure will be installed in smartphones and various devices, so we need to pay attention to the scalability of this field in the future. Currently, big tech companies are seriously investing in AI, and this year they are making even larger investments compared to last year. It would be wise for us to follow the same direction in our investments. Looking at the on-device AI market, it was valued at 18.5 billion dollars last year, and it is projected to increase to 139 billion dollars by 2030. This is an enormous market with an annual growth rate exceeding 30%. Since we are still in the initial stages, we can see that the growth rate is intense. There are currently no related ETFs in the U.S., but there are listings in the domestic market.

When looking at ETFs, there is a global on-device AI ETF. Investing in this ETF is good, but it's also beneficial to know which companies are included in it. If we look at the top companies, we see that Qualcomm and Apple are included. It would be good to gauge whether the world of on-device technology will open up based on this. 

Looking at the stock charts of the top three companies, we see that since the beginning of the year, there has been an 87% increase, while Apple and Qualcomm have risen by 147%. Compared to the S&P 500, which has increased by 20%, Apple and Qualcomm are actually not performing as well. So, which of these three companies would be a better investment choice? When in doubt, it’s important to consider expert opinions. 

Looking at Qualcomm, 21 experts provided their insights: 13 recommended buying, two suggested holding, and one advised selling. Most are advocating for buying or holding. Furthermore, it is expected that there is still a potential for a 29% increase over the next year.

Some of you may not be familiar, so let me briefly introduce it. Qualcomm is an American company that develops semiconductor chips related to wireless communication. The wireless communication technologies we know, such as LTE and 5G, are developed by Qualcomm. It is particularly specialized in mobile technology, making it a key player in on-device solutions. While we are currently discussing smartphones, Qualcomm serves as a medium that can connect to any device. However, since more than 50% of its revenue comes from China, it is a company that requires risk management. 

Next, let's look at what experts are saying. They believe that the current stock price has risen significantly, but they are predicting a decline of about 3.9% in the future. This indicates that there has been a short-term surge. Among 19 experts, 13 recommend buying, five suggest holding, and one is calling for a sell. Although there is limited upward momentum, they believe that a hold strategy is better than selling.

Let's talk about the third and final perspective from experts regarding Apple. They believe that there is a potential for a 99.6% increase over the next year. Apple is a big tech company, and many experts are sharing their opinions. Out of 34 analysts, 24 recommend buying, nine suggest holding, and one is advising to sell. Additionally, Apple's AI features are set to receive their first update on the 28th of this month. With iPhone 16 sales declining, Apple faces an important challenge regarding the direction of its AI investments. Now, let's take a look at the service sector, which is closely related to our daily lives. The service sector is indeed vast, and interestingly, there is room for AI in all of these various service areas. From education, which I mentioned earlier, to music, labor, transportation, legal services, and shopping, there is a wide range of applications, among which the most rapidly evolving are...

Let's take a look at three areas where AI services are being applied and the impact they have. From an investor's perspective, we will examine whether augmented reality is leading the way. Augmented reality and virtual reality are in fierce competition, with prominent companies like Meta and Apple at the forefront. Augmented reality involves adding information to the real world, such as through smart glasses, while virtual reality operates in a separate space away from reality. The virtual reality field seems to be a bit further in the future, but augmented reality has many technologies that can be used immediately, so it is expected to be adopted quickly. If Meta's smart glasses succeed, won't Apple follow suit? Meta showcased its smart glasses at Connect 202, demonstrating several key actions we perform with smartphones, such as conversing while wearing the glasses and checking information about objects. This gives hope that they may partially replace smartphones.

It was a conference where Meta's smart environment received high praise. Perhaps it's because they are a customer. We will have to watch how quickly the AI market grows. There are quite a few innovative companies trying to develop something that can replace smartphones. Among them, I previously introduced AI pins, which display information on the palm of your hand. Recently, I've seen user reviews coming in, and it seems they are not as impressive as expected. However, I believe such challenges will continue in the future. I think smart glasses look promising. 

Next, let's take a look at the robotics sector. This year, CNBC covered a story about Amazon. Amazon is known for having a large workforce, but they announced plans to replace over 100,000 workers with robots. They intend to replace simple repetitive tasks previously done by humans with robots. The initial investment...

Although it may seem like a lot is being invested, in the long run, this structure has significant effects. Currently, we have simple robots, but I think it might expand to include AI robots. Looking at the prospects of the global robotics industry, it is predicted to grow at an average annual rate of 17.4% until 2026. It is an industry showing high growth, especially with the expected rapid development of service robots. I worry that my job might be replaced, but I need to strengthen my assets through investment. When talking about humanoid robots, we cannot leave out Tesla. They are preparing to expand not only the robots deployed in their factories but also household robots that assist with chores. What seems like something out of a movie is gradually becoming a reality. In the future, we will need to think about how to utilize our leisure time as we move away from labor hours.

There will be moments when you need to reflect on what you truly like. If you want to invest in robots, a representative option is the ETF called Itaewon Botz. It was listed in September 2016, and its asset size is 2.58 billion dollars. This is the ETF I often mention. Currently, the top ten companies are as follows: Nvidia holds a dominant first place, followed by Intuitive Surgical, which makes surgical robots in second place. In third place is the Swiss automation technology company ABB. Many Japanese companies are also well-positioned, so if there’s a company you’re interested in, it would be good to study it further. 

The last area of AI services is autonomous driving. Currently, autonomous taxis are being implemented in the United States, China, and South Korea. Some people may not be aware that this is happening in South Korea. It was recently launched and operates only at night in specific locations. This Thursday, October 10th, Tesla will unveil its robo-taxi.

There are rumors that robots will drive Tesla vehicles. While we can't know for sure what the outcome will be, it's a fact that autonomous driving is being implemented on real roads. I believe it will grow faster than we think. Most car accidents are largely due to driver negligence, and if autonomous driving becomes widespread, the number of accidents will likely decrease significantly. As a result, there will be industries, such as car insurance, that will shrink. Conversely, there will be an increase in people making profits from vehicles parked in parking lots. Many industries related to transportation will be affected, so we need to keep an eye on it and identify the growing fields within it. A representative company related to autonomous driving is Diiv, which has an asset size of 436 million dollars, which isn't that large. However, it ranks among the top ten related companies.

Looking at representative companies, we have Nvidia, Tesla, and Microsoft. Nvidia is also included here. Nvidia will play an important role in the large market again thanks to autonomous driving, even if its data center GPU business slows down. In various ways, Nvidia is a fortunate company. We have examined the flow of AI investments so far and the promising fields ahead. AI is truly a significant change that will impact various industries. There are already many companies that are making profits by utilizing AI, even among those I haven't mentioned.
