* ⚠ Maryland has experienced reports of **five tornadoes**, and a large portion of New Jersey is under a **tornado watch** due to the storm's movements.
* 🚗 Flash flood warnings have been issued, with the National Weather Service indicating **rapid water rises**, making driving **hazardous**.
* 🌬 Wind gusts are expected to peak overnight, reaching **30 to 50 miles per hour**, which poses additional risks alongside the heavy rainfall.
* ☀ ️ Fortunately, conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow morning, with temperatures rising to **73 degrees** and a **better holiday weekend ahead**, despite a chance of rain returning Sunday into Monday.

THAT IS HAIL AND INDICATIVE OF

STRONG UPDRAFT THAT OFTEN PRECEDES A TORNADO. THIS LINE IS BEING PUSHED OFF TO THE NORTH, NORTHEAST. ALL THE TOWNS LISTED, YOU ARE CATCHING HEAVY RAIN. ON THE TIMES I HAVE LISTED, THIS IS WHEN YOU COULD POSSIBLY SEE SOME TWIST. RIGHT NOW IT IS ABOVE THE SURFACE BY 3000 FEET. IF IT DROPS DOWN, WE GOT A BIG PROBLEM. THEN I TAKE YOU DOWN SOUTH INTO MARYLAND AND WE KEEP GETTING MORE REPORTS OF TORNADOES. MARYLAND HAS HAD REPORTS OF FIVE TORNADOES. IT HAS BEEN ACTIVE. THAT SAME PORTION OF THE STORM IS MOVING INTO OUR AREA. WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE THE TORNADO WARNING IN PORTIONS OF

OUR AREA. A GOOD CHUNK OF NEW JERSEY IS UNDER THE TORNADO WATCH. THE RAIN IS A BIG STORY. DUTCHESS COUNTY HAS PICKED UP 1.7 INCHES OF RAIN. IF YOU JUST GO OVER THE BORDER, JUST OUTSIDE OF PIKE COUNTY, I SAW A REPORT OF CLOSE TO FOUR INCHES OF RAIN. 4.9. IN WAYNE COUNTY. RIGHT ON THE BORDER. THAT STORM IS NOT MOVING DUE NORTH, IT IS MOVING EAST NORTHEAST. IS THIS REALLY A REMNANT STORM? YOU BET. THE REMNANTS OF IDA. IT HAS WIND, FLOODING, HUGE CONCERNS. A TORNADO THREAT IS OUT THERE. IT IS MUCH BETTER BY THE TIME WE GET TO TOMORROW MORNING.

THAT MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. THAT MEANS THE RAPID RISE OF

WATER. THAT MEANS DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW DEEP IT IS, DON'T DRIVE THROUGH IT. SOME OF THE NUMBERS THAT LONNIE HAS SHOWN YOU, THE RAIN THAT IS AT THE GROUND, WE ADD RAINFALL RATES OF 1-2 INCHES PER HOUR. YOU WILL SEE MAJOR PROBLEMS. A BIT OF GUIDANCE ON WHAT TO SHOW YOU, THE WORST OF THE RAIN WILL BE WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING. LOOK AT THIS. THIS IS THE NORTH AMERICAN MODEL FOR WIND GUSTS. Severe Weather Update: Tornado Warnings and Heavy Rain

The storm's center, formerly Ida, is still in Pennsylvania, causing heavy rain and expanded tornado warnings in Morris and Warren Counties.

Hail and strong updrafts are indicators of potential tornadoes, with the storm system moving north-northeast.

Maryland has reported five tornadoes, and the active portion of the storm is moving into the area, prompting local tornado warnings.

A significant portion of New Jersey is under a tornado watch, with heavy rain causing flooding in nearby areas.

7 inches of rain, while Pike County reports close to 4 inches.

The storm, a remnant of Ida, is moving east-northeast and is expected to bring gusty winds and flash flooding, leading to an expanded flash flood warning.

Driving through unknown water depth is risky, especially with rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour.

The worst of the rain is expected overnight, along with peak wind gusts of 30-50 miles per hour.

It's important to be mindful of both the rain and wind during this time.

The weather is expected to improve by tomorrow, with a high of 73 degrees.

A fine holiday weekend is anticipated, although there is a chance of rain from Sunday into Monday.

Overall, better weather is expected to begin by midmorning tomorrow.
