How's it going, bro? So I've already uploaded a video on this, but I have a few thoughts I want to add to it, as well as there was about 10 seconds on the other video where I wasn't fully happy with the audio quality. So this is a fresh

updated version. But yes, this is Chapter 3 of The Way of the Superior Man: Love as if your father were dead. Now there are two ways you can view this chapter. David D's approach was, he, it seems to me, as though he had a restricted father growing up, and his

advice was to do something every day that your father wouldn't allow. I think this is especially useful advice if you have active parents or restrictive parents. Both of them are restrictive, but I think there's another way you can view this chapter, and I'm

actually going to dive into that one first. And preferably close your eyes with this, if you don't want to, then follow along with me. Think about everything your father's done for you. He's probably put food on the table for years. He has probably put you through school, put a roof over your head,

and by the way, this doesn't have to be just your father, your parents in general. Think about all the things they've done for you. I'm going to pause for about 5 seconds so you can think about this deeply. Now I'm pretty sure you feel some sense

of gratitude for them, even if your relationship with them isn't great. I would hope that you at least feel some gratitude for all they've done for you. Now imagine they were gone, yeah? It doesn't feel great, does it? So for me, it's a matter of appreciating

them while they are around, that's a key point. But another key point that I think you should take from this is if you're watching my videos, there's a good chance you are a university student, high school student, or a younger guy, let's put that

way, and you're not fully financially independent yet. You're probably still at least partially financially dependent on one of your parents, if not both of them. And for me, it's a matter of if they die, you could be facing some problems. Of course, there are other ways you can get loans and the like, but forgetting that, I mean, you don't want to go along that route anyway. So forgetting that, wouldn't you love to be financially independent? I'm sure you would. So for me, it's important that you try doing something today, in fact, every day, to

work towards financial independence. 'Cause here's the thinking we get stuck in. I, I got caught in the same thinking for a long time as well. That again, I'm a university student, I'm kind of studying, and yes, of course, one day I will have an office job

where I'm basically using the skills that I learned through my degree. But that doesn't mean I can't stop today trying to make money on the side. So for me, it's important that you do something on the side that can at least bring in some sort of money for you. So start a

YouTube channel, that's what I'm doing right now. But you can do other things on the side beyond YouTube. So drop shipping is something that comes up quite often. If you're into coding, code a website. If you're into video editing, freelance as a video editor. You can do a lot of things.

on the side that might not give you complete financial independence today but it can work you up towards that point so for me that's something you should think about right now in terms of how do you get to that financial independence now going back to David D's

view though of doing something every day that your father wouldn't like or either one of your parents wouldn't like and I wouldn't say I have the world's most strictest parents but my parents are definitely stricter than average I would say quite considerably so actually and from

my experience what I found is slowly picking away and trying to do something more risky as such that they wouldn't allow don't go extreme off the bat but slowly pick away as it's and slowly you give be given more space uh key thing

that I've learned though is obviously you'll get some backlash for doing what you're doing and that's okay that your parents they very likely not always but they probably are doing it from a place of love and they wanted to protect you but it doesn't mean that

you shouldn't push out and do what you want to do so when they give you some backlash and don't like what you're doing simply ignore it don't back down don't do anything of that because then you enter your conversation where it's just going to result in

conflict neither sides going to be happy if you ignore them and go ahead and do what you wanted to do anyway then eventually you are going to set free of their control so this is the advice I recommend if they are highly restrictive parents if you have parents that

are of years but not super restrictive in the sense that they give you some space in a way then honestly I think you should have a genuine open conversation with them and say hey I would just like to spread my wings a bit and I'm pretty sure they'll be fine with it communication is

always a useful way to go around it if it's a way that would actually be met by the party so yeah my two views on this chapter is not only getting away from restricted parents or finding ways to break free of that restriction but also feeling the gratitude for everything

they've done for you I hope there's at least a few things you have gratitude for them for yeah I think that's a good way to end it and of course part of the gratitude segments of the video was also basically finding your financial

Freedom start today don't delay it's a stereotypical advice but really so today I mean this is my second day of making YouTube videos I feel much more comfortable in front of the camera than I did on the first day and I imagine the third day

I'll feel even more comfortable the sooner you start the sooner you can make progression I'll see you in the next one bro
