Now, speaking of problems and obstacles in our life, like this tightly sealed jar, okay, we all also have our own problems and obstacles, okay? What kind of problems and obstacles do children have in their lives? Can you think of any? Okay, let's break it down. Let's break it down, okay? The first kind of obstacle or problems we could have is with our family, right? It could be maybe not for you, but some people. What kind of problems with your family when you have bad relationships with your siblings, you know, you always fight, you have problems with your parents, they're always scolding you, okay? So family. Next, what are the obstacles

friends friends can be a problem at obstacle also how when your friends have competition between each other or when you start comparing with each other right or you get jealous of one another oh you see it how come my dad friend so close to her but not close to me things like that okay so friends next just now our friend said what's your name idea you should say homework right studies whose big problem is studies here yes in singapore you know all the children are very stressed you have a lot of homework you have a lot of expectation you want to get good grades so studies can be a problem right faith you too or even june holidays you have to do homework right so you feel it's a problem i can't i can't spend time for myself or having fun it's just studies all the time oh i studied so hard i cannot understand i cannot improve okay so studies now last one is something that even teacher mickey struggled with when i was your age okay something that is a big obstacle

for me can you read this self-image self-image. Okay, it was a problem for me when I look people next to me. Oh, I don't have good looks, I don't have nice clothes, I don't have a lot of money like my friends. They can buy nice phone and all the nice shoes. So self-image, I feel I have no confidence. Okay, so that could be an obstacle for you too, alright? So I just leave down some and when we think about obstacles, how does it make you feel? I can't do anything about it, I can't get through it, nothing works. You try and find solution, right? I study hard, I can make more friends, or I try and be a good boy or a good girl at home, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes it's still not good enough, you still have problems coming later on and on and on. So then what do nothing, then the problem is just become a mountain and then get very stressed. Now, thankfully today, I'm gonna share with you a better answer and the only answer to any problems in life.

just like I need help from Teacher Patrick just now, right? A stronger help to open my jar. We also need stronger health for everything in our life. Where can you find that stronger help? God. Good. But how? Why? Why you say that? Do you know why? Okay, for our new friends, God might be something new for you. Okay, so I'm gonna break it down to help you understand, all right? So I'm gonna do this through a little story today. Okay, a group of people, they had something impossible for them to do, but when they follow God's way, they see how God's way is the best way. Okay, God's way is the best way, which is our main title for the camp today. So every time, yeah, when you see these words on the screen, I want you to say it together with me. Can you read it? Yes. you here might have heard this story before, but let's learn something new also, okay? So back then, thousands of years ago, God's people, you know, were slaves. You know, you know what slaves are? They are forced to do a lot of help. Yes, they're like helpers, and they cannot choose what they want to do, you know? They have to carry a lot of heavy things. So God's people were slaves in Egypt for many, many years, but God rescued them out, okay? And God promised them that you will conquer many, many lands, and I'll give you a beautiful new land called the Promised Land, okay? Yeah. So according to the Bible, they said the Promised Land is a land flowing with milk and honey, a dream place to be, okay? So Egypt to Promised Land, is it easy to go? Maybe 30 minutes drive can go already, but they're gonna have car then, uh, maybe what, two hours? Can we show you? They can walk, right? Canada? No, it's a hard journey, okay? So let me put this over here. What's this?

word okay, I'll see. Okay, so I'll put it right here so you see this f legit, all right? So guys, okay, so I'm gonna use this to represent Joshua and God's people, okay? Who is Joshua? He is the leader of God's people, okay? Last time it was a person called Moses, but he got old and he passed away, so Joshua is the new leader, and Joshua is leading them over towards the promised land. Now, do you think Joshua love God? Yes. Does he obey God? Yes. Does he trust God? Oh, yes. So, is he a good leader? Yes. Okay, so they're under a good leader, okay, with God. So, they wanted to go. No, there was a big river, okay, and this river is the Jordan River, yes. Now, this is not a normal river, you know, it's a big one, and the waters are rushing and all that.

okay, so oh no, they come here and they're like, we can't cross over. How are we gonna go jump over? I can jump over here, but the real Jordan River is not so small. Okay, swim. Okay, I want you to imagine you're standing right in front of the Jordan River. You're gonna imagine you're standing in front of the Jordan River, and it's rushing right. Remember what they trust in God, right? They trusted God. So they didn't use any of their own ways. Okay, they listened to

god's instructions and what do you think god's instructions was you are going to carry the ark of the covenant what's the art of the covenant oh good okay so the ark of the covenant is a golden box with things that god has left for his people and ten commandments is inside also very good so when they carry the ark of the covenant what does it mean they are carrying god's presence with them so god said carry the outer covenant and go to the river so they walk and when they reach the river and their feet touch the water the water all got pushed to one side and do they have ground to walk already yes yes they do okay so they walked across whoa now can you tell me what does this remind you of yes very good that time when moses split the red sea for the people so do you think they've seen amazing things that god do he can split seas he can split reverse he really show that his way is the best way okay yep so they have already crossed right

Okay, now God said, if you want to go to the Promised Land, you have to conquer and get through this city. Okay, let me tell you about this city. Okay, this city, right, is filled with people that don't believe in God and they are doing a lot of evil things. They are mean to each other, they fight, they do very wrong stuff. So, it's a very fallen city. But there was someone inside. Okay, this is not a person, but we'll pretend it is. There is a person living in this city that believe in God. Okay, she's the only one and her name is Rahab. Okay, yeah, Rahab. She's the only one even though the city is very fallen. But she heard about God's people and the God they worship. Oh, I believe in that God. So, do you think God will save her later? Yes. So, now let's go back to the city of

jericho. The walls are very higher. How are they going to cross over right? It's high. It's strong. They climb. Okay, what else can we do? Jumping. Can you jump so high? So cute. Or yes. Bomb the place. Okay, how about letters? Letters. Who use letters now? They didn't do any of that. Okay. God's people didn't do any of that. Joshua and the Israelites continued to trust in God's way. Again, they trusted God here in Jordan River and they're trusting God here again. So, they didn't follow all your strategies, huh? They prayed to God and God told them what to do. So, how did God tell them? Okay, listen to the instructions. Okay, I will ask you later for your quiz. Okay. So, God came to Joshua in the form of a man with a sword. So, the man with the sword came to Joshua, which is sent by God or maybe God himself. Okay. And he told Joshua the instructions what to do. Listener, firstly, Joshua, you're gonna carry. six days really match uh one then second date one then all the way to sixteen seventh day they march seven times around okay so seven times after seven times they hear this sound [Music] is that a long trumpet song then what should people do everybody shout can you shout for me and when they finish shouting what happened oh oh oh the wall slowly came crumbling down yeah it doesn't make sense but god made it happen okay so they got victory over the city of jericho and someone was saved also everybody was destroyed right but who are safe do you remember we have okay because she believed in god and she turned to god now does it sound very crazy yeah does it sound very amazing and awesome that this can happen right but let me ask you why did the walls come down vibration of their shout out okay it's god's power that brought down the walls it's very important that we know that they didn't follow their own ways they listened to god's instruction so it didn't come from the people it

me do i want right but god knows better because why god is the creator and the author of the world. He sees things way deeper way further way more than us. So why is god's way the best way because god is very wise. He knows what is best for us. Okay next reason why is god's way the best way is because god is the most powerful. Do we have our own powers yes. We also have strength what sometimes when i run i can run very fast i cannot mia but y'all maybe can run very fast. If i try i can study very well if i try my best. We have all our own strengths but are we always strong and powerful no. You can win some of your problems, but some you can't. So you need a power stronger than yourself, and that can only come from God, okay, which is what we shared here in the story just now. God has proved many, many times that he sees things more than we do. He already know that the Jordan River was

gonna be there. He already know that there was gonna be a red sea. He already know that the city of Jericho has tall walls. But he also knows that he has the power over it. But what does he need from us? T-R-U-S-T. Stress. Yeah, that is all. Sometimes we just don't trust enough and we try ourselves so our problems just keep going round. Okay, so why is God's way the best way? He's the most powerful. Now the last reason I'm giving you is that God's way is the best way because God is the most loving one. okay she said an answer that says the Bible tells us how much God loves us. And what does the Bible tell us about God's love? We know God loves us because he sent something super precious to him, okay, to die for us, people that are sinners, right? Okay, now God sent his only son to die on the cross so that our sins can be washed away so that we don't have to receive the punishment of hell so that we can go to heaven. Now what are sins? What are sins, okay? I have new friends here who is new, like first time in church, okay? Okay, Ishon, what are sins? Have you heard of this word before? So what does it mean? Do you know when you do something bad to someone? Okay, anybody else has examples of sins? Elliot, yes, bad things are what kind of bad things? Samuel, heart, and then you make bad things. Oh, when Satan goes into your heart, I mean, you think bad things, yes, secrets, okay, something bad you're not supposed to do, okay, good answer, okay, hands down.

generally, we get the idea, okay, but I want you to know sins are not just things that are seen, you know, like lying, stealing, uh, scolding people, or being mean to your parents, okay? Or yeah, all the things that you can see. Sins can also be things that are inside, okay, inside like your thoughts and your feelings. Even when you think about hating someone, you're jealous of someone, you know, or the thought of wanting to snatch something or do something bad to someone. Even the thought or the feeling is seen itself. And since we are born, right, we already have sins in our hearts because we always want to think for ourselves. We are selfish, and we want things our way, okay? But when we turn to God, it's different. Why is it different? We will still sin, right? Can we stop sinning one day? Oh, I believe in Jesus, I'm perfect, I've never sinned. Yay! Does it work like that? No, we will always have sins, but when we believe in Jesus, the change is that we will know

better the right thing to do so god's work has that effect in our hearts. It helped us to realize things that last time we didn't realize, okay, and help us to pursue how to do right, all right. So you see these are children when they have a lot of things in their heart, frustrated and angry, okay. So three reasons why is god's way the best way. The first reason, because god is the most wise. Second reason, god is most and the third reason, god is the most love, most loving to us, okay. So these three reasons why god's way is the best way. Now, now that you know god's way is the best way, how can you follow god's way, how, yes, brienne praying to him, praying to him, okay, going to church and reading his word, ah, so going to church, learning his word and learning how to talk to god through your prayers, right, okay, all right, that's a good one. How else can we come to follow god's ways, any other, oh, right in front of me, no, yes, how.

huh or trust in him. How can we trust in God more? Oh yes. [Music] By praying. How does praying help you trust God more? Okay, when we pray, right? When we pray, right? When we pray, right? It's not to ask God, Oh God, please give me everything I want. Please change everything to be wonderful and perfect for me. No. Okay, when we pray, it's to help us understand how our heart is like. Now, when you pray, then you know, Oh yeah, I'm thinking this way. Oh yeah, maybe I have certain ways that I might be sinful. And then as you pray, you think about God's word and how he wants you to match it. Okay, so that's what praying does. And one more important way to come to. Yeah, you are very young now, right? There are many things that y'all don't know. So when you don't know, you need someone to teach you and help you understand. So maybe it's your parents. They can teach you about God's word. Maybe it's your Sunday school. Okay, or maybe it's your Sunday school.

teachers anybody like that. So, coming to church helps you to get closer to God. And right now, this is also one way being in this camp. Okay, God brought all of us here into this camp so that we can learn that God's way is the best way. All right, so the takeaway today is I hope that when you have obstacles and problems in your life, you remember which way to go and join us in church if you haven't already come. You know, we have so much more for you to learn about. There's so much more beautiful stories about God that y'all can't learn. Yeah, it's too far away. Okay, we'll figure that out later. Um, dear Father, Lord, we are so thankful that we have a big turnout for this kids camp this year and every little spirit here a lot is brought by brought off by you so that they may be able to come closer to your word and to be able to bring their lives to one that is being led by the best way.

and so, whatever the message has been said, uh, not let your work be the one that, uh, gets into their heart, and let it really sow seeds within them so that in their journey as they are growing up, they will remember how God is wise, powerful, and loving in any of the problems that they may face. They may be young, but not there are many things that they can understand already, uh. So long we pray for these young hearts and for their families, a lot they may be able to really find ways to come closer to you, whether is it to come to church, whether is it to get to the Bible again, to your word, or whether it is to have deeper prayers.
