Hello, today I want to introduce various finishing methods such as wallpaper, paint, and tile film. Among these, I would like to focus a bit on film finishing. Fortunately, we have a site where film was used, so I will introduce that as well. 

To briefly describe this site, it was an existing kitchen with a recessed L-shaped structure. We demolished a non-load-bearing wall to expand the kitchen and create space for an island and a dining table. There is a long wall on the left side, but if we only cover this wall with wallpaper, it can feel a bit dull. Therefore, it is common to use a combination of wallpaper and film finishing to create interesting points. The film used here is the Lenoli Serena Off Charcoal, which was also used in the café-style home I introduced last time. 

One of the advantages of film is its variety of textures.

The point is that the film can be expressed in various ways. Simply put, the film is a PVC material that has a desired print on one side and is coated for finishing. This allows for a range of wood expressions, from light to dark, and even the feel of paint. Nowadays, there is a special painting technique that the film can also replicate. If you look at the concrete opal and concrete sand of the Renolife film, you can see that it captures the special painting effect very well. Therefore, there is a wide selection available, from wood to painted fabric and marble textures. Another advantage is that it can be applied in various spaces. It can be used not only on walls but also on furniture, general items, and even window frames. Recently, we applied the film to furniture doors in a preservation project, achieving a finished look.

One of the main methods we use is to apply film to the fire doors by aligning them with the site phone for finishing. We also use film extensively on regular doors. This time, all the staff doors at the site have been fitted with film. Additionally, places where film is used a lot include fake doors. Fake doors serve as a means to create a sense of unity by connecting seamlessly with regular furniture. In this project, fake doors have been applied in two locations. One is a fake door that conceals the turning door leading from the living room to the balcony, and the other is a fake door leading from the kitchen to the balcony. With both the staff doors and fake doors, film proves to be a beautiful and practical finishing material that can adapt well to various types of doors. Another advantage is its cost-effectiveness. It is cheaper than paint, yet it has good durability, making maintenance easy.

If managed well, the film can be preserved for a long time. Of course, there are drawbacks. First of all, since it is printed, the film width is limited to about 1200. For vegetables, it needs to be around 1150 to 1180. This means that there will be a margin line between the walls, which is the biggest disadvantage. However, if you divide the sizes without considering the site, it can look odd. So, if you adjust the margins according to the site size, it can actually enhance the design. In this case, the film width for vegetables leaves a small leftover area, which we filled with mirrors or foam boards to create a nice design effect. Nowadays, films are generally coming out well, so I don't specifically recommend any particular product. It seems that I recommend differently based on the customer's preferences. If you want a slightly toned-down, heavier feel, I would suggest Manholic Serena.

I recommend the Off-Chalk or LG Film's EW408 product. If you don't like something too heavy but would prefer a slightly toned-down feel, I suggest the LG Film NE117 product. Many customers who like this film have led us to apply it in about three locations. If you want a bright and fresh feeling, we recommend bright wood. Bright wood comes in a variety of options, including those with reddish knots, those without, and those with yellowish tones, so you can choose according to your preference.
