hey guys, welcome back to Cinema Beacon. Today, I am going to explain a 2022 psychological thriller movie called Deep Water. This video contains spoilers, so watch out and take care. At the start of the movie, we see a man named Vic Van Allen who returns home after riding his bike through the woods. As he takes off his pants, he sees that his wife Melinda is looking at him. Melinda doesn't say anything and goes upstairs. The couple lives in the small town of Little Wesley, Louisiana, and has a daughter named Trixie. Melinda is getting ready for a party. Vic helps her to wear her shoes, and Melinda tells him that she loves him. The two then head out to go to the party. They arrive at the party and meet some of their friends. After some time, Melinda goes to meet her friend named Joel Dash. She takes him out and goes near the pool and then starts kissing him. It turns out that Joel is Melinda's lover. Vic watches them kissing from the outside. Melinda sees Vic watching them.

but she doesn't stop and continues to kiss Joel. One of Vic's friends sees Melinda and Joel together and expresses her concern to Vic, but Vic simply denies it. After a while, Melinda gets drunk and starts dancing on top of a piano. She then plays the piano and starts singing. Later, Joel approaches Vic for a chat. He thanks Vic for letting him see Melinda. Vic casually asks Joel if he has heard about the disappearance of a man named Martin McRae, who was the lover of Melinda before Joel. Vic then reveals that he killed Martin with a hammer. Joel thinks that he is joking, but Vic assures that it's not a joke. Hearing this, Joel starts to panic and then leaves the party. While leaving home, Melinda asks Vic if he said anything to Joel, but Vic denies saying anything to him. At home, Vic helps Melinda to take her clothes off as she is too drunk. The next morning, Vic goes to drop Trixie at school. While returning, one of his friends asks him what is said to Joel was true. Vic replies that it was just a joke and nothing more. The joke quickly spreads among their friends, and everyone keeps asking Vic if he really did it. At home, Melinda angrily confronts Vic for threatening her lover. Vic apologizes to her and promises her that it will never happen again. Melinda wants Vic to apologize to Joel, so she invites Joel for dinner. When Joel arrives, Vic greets him. While having dinner, Joel reveals that he is planning to move over the weekend. Melinda then asks Vic to put Trixie to

bed as she wants to spend some time alone with Joel. He goes upstairs and puts Trixie to sleep. When he comes downstairs, he sees Melinda and Joel together and becomes jealous. One day, Vic and Melinda go to a party. From there, they meet a couple, Don and Kelly. They are both new to the town, and Don is a writer. Vic later dances with Kelly while Melinda watches them. While returning home, Melinda asks Vic if he found Kelly attractive. Vic responds by saying that he really did. Melinda is jealous as she feels Kelly is more attractive than her. When they return home, they mate passionately as they are both turned on. One day, Vic gets a call from the bank about a payment made by Melinda to a piano teacher named Charlie Delisle. Vic tracks Charlie and follows him to a

live show. He then gets to know that Melinda is seeing the piano teacher later that night. Vic returns home and sees the news that Martin's body has been seen in the woods. He is reported to have been shot dead. When Melinda returns home, Vic tells her about Martin. Melinda is upset by the news and goes straight into her room. As days pass, Melinda starts spending more time with Charlie, and the two grow closer. Vic is aware of this. While Melinda returns home after spending the night with Charlie, Vic angrily confronts her and asks about the payment. He then asks her to stop seeing Charlie, but Melinda refuses, saying that Charlie makes her feel loved, which Vic is incapable of. Although Vic insists that he loves Melinda, it is not the kind of love Melinda wants. One day, Vic and Melinda go to a pool party with their friends, to which Charlie is also invited. She later introduces him to her friends and asks him to play a song for them. Afterwards, she introduces Charlie to Vic.

As her piano teacher, Vic pretends to Charlie that he doesn't know about their relationship and keeps his calm. Later that night, Vic looks around for Melinda, who has been gone for hours. He sees her getting out of a room along with Charlie. He follows them to the pool and looks at them, who are really having some fun. The two are really growing closer, which makes Vic jealous and angry at the same time. Just then, it begins to rain, and everyone goes inside the house except for Vic and Charlie. Sometime later, Vic walks in and joins the others. Melinda looks around for Charlie but is unable to find him. She then looks out of the window and is shocked to see Charlie dead in the pool from drowning. The men pull him out of the water and attempt to rescue him, but they then realize that Charlie is dead. When the detectives arrive, they question all the guests present at the party. Melinda accuses Vic of drowning Charlie and murdering him, but Vic denies it. Vic is then questioned in private.

Regarding the accusation of Melinda, he tells the detectives that Charlie was too drunk and was clinging to the deep end of the pool. The detectives are satisfied with his answers and don't bring him for further questioning. Melinda is still adamant that Vic killed Charlie, so Vic asks her if she is frightened of Vic knowing that he killed Charlie. Melinda responds that she isn't, as she is the thing that Vic killed for one day. While returning home, Vic notices a car following him. Later, after Vic drops Trixie at school, Kelly approaches Vic and tells him Don thinks that Vic may have murdered Charlie. On top of that, Don and Melinda are spending a lot of time together and are coming up with strange theories about him. Vic tells Kelly that she doesn't have to worry about anything and invites her and Don for dinner. Later that night, Kelly and Don arrive at Vic's house for dinner. Vic then takes Don to the basement of his house where he breeds snails. He then

tells Don to stop telling people that he killed Charlie, but Don still suspects Vic's involvement in Charlie's murder. So, he asks Vic if he will take a lie detector test to prove that he is innocent, which Vic agrees to. One day, while walking through the town, Vic sees the car that has been following him for a while. Through the window of the car, he sees a camera, realizing that he is being followed by a private investigator. He goes inside the diner in front of which the car was parked. From there, he sees Melinda having lunch with the private investigator, and he joins them. Melinda introduces the man to Vic and tells him that he is a psychotherapist named David Recigliani. Vic instantly realizes that he is a private investigator hired by Don and Melinda. So, Vic goes straight into Don's house and confronts him in front of Kelly and their daughter. Vic accuses him of hiring a private investigator, but Don denies it. So, Vic shows him a bank statement of Melinda, saying that she has sent money to Don.

to hire the investigator and leaves. Kelly is not happy with this, and she gets angry at Dawn. One day, Vic catches Melinda seeing a new friend of hers. The guy is Melinda's college boyfriend, Tony Cameron. Vic starts to follow them and gets jealous seeing Melinda with Tony. That evening, Vic overhears a conversation between his wife and Tony about going to Brazil and taking Trixie with them. Vic's anger starts to spiral out of control hearing this. He tries talking to Melinda about Tony, but Melinda refuses to talk to him. The next day, Melinda invites Tony to their house for dinner. Vic acts to be friendly with him during the dinner. Melinda casually mentions that Tony is the first American that she has slept with. Vic is filled with rage, and it intensifies when he sees Melinda and Tony flirting with each other. Melinda then takes Tony to her room for some fun, and Vic sees this. The next day, Vic approaches Tony and tells him that Melinda wants to show him

a building site that she has been working on. Vic then drives him to the woods where there is no signal. Once Vic gets him alone, he throws a stone at Tony's head. Vic throws another rock at him, causing Tony to stumble down the cliff and smash his head onto a rock, and kills him instantly. Vic then drags Tony's body and hides the body in the water, tying it with rocks. He then goes home. Melinda tries to get in touch with Tony, but she is unable to reach him, so she asks Vic whether Vic has seen Tony. But Vic replies that he hasn't seen him. One day, Vic takes Melinda and Trixie out for a picnic in the woods. While Trixie is playing, Melinda asks Vic why is he the only man that wants to stay with her. Vic replies that he really loves her and would never leave her. Vic then gifts her a photo album he made for her. She goes through the album and remembers the good time that they had together. She kisses Vic and they embrace each.

Other just then, Trixie goes near the stream where Vic has drowned Tony's body. Vic rushes to get Trixie and notices that Tony's body has begun to float on the surface. While returning home, Melinda mentions that she left her scarf behind. Vic tells her that he will go get it the next day. Later that night, Vic asks Melinda whether she had heard from Tony, but she replies that she is done with him, goes, and hugs Vic. She then asks Vic to sleep in her room. Melinda tells him that she loves him, and the two make love. The next morning, Vic goes to the woods on his cycle. Meanwhile, Melinda looks for Vic and goes to the basement. From there, she discovers Tony's wallet and realizes that Vic has killed Tony. She learns that Vic has killed all her lovers and is devastated by this, so she packs all her belongings and decides to leave Vic. When Trixie learns about this, she throws the suitcase into the pool and tells Melinda that they are not leaving.

Vic reaches the stream and attempts to sink Tony's body further in. Just then, Don comes there and approaches Vic. Vic tries to get rid of Don by saying that he was looking for Melinda's scarf, but Don spots Tony's arm floating. He rushes back to his car and drives away. Vic chases him on his bike and takes a shortcut to catch Don. When he is about to catch Don, he falls off his bike in front of Don's car. Don quickly swerves hard to avoid hitting him and loses his balance, ending up driving his car down a hill and dies after crashing his car. After confirming Don's death, Vic gets back on his bike and returns home. He sees Melinda sitting on the stairs and looking at him. This is the same scene that we saw at the beginning of the movie. She then goes upstairs and burns Tony's ID, suggesting that she intends to stay with Vic, who would do anything for her. And the movie ends here.
