Yes, I am traveling from Seoul to Haenam, the southernmost village, which is about 500 km, riding a manual kickboard. I have currently reached Pyeongtaek, and today I don't know how far I can go heading south, but I plan to ride towards Haenam. Let's go!

Right now, it’s just after the Chuseok holiday, and it suddenly became really cool. How many kilometers do you think you can go on your manual kickboard in a day? If I really push myself, I can go over 100 km in a day. I've ridden more than 100 km in Japan and Vietnam. But to cover more than 100 km, I have to start really early, at dawn, and ride until it gets dark at night. If I just ride a bit while sweating, I can comfortably cover about 50 km from around 9 or 10 in the morning until sunset. But...

Today, I overslept. The tire shop here doesn't speak English. What's going on with Homeplus? Why does it feel so desolate? Are they not open? Oh, it seems they are closed today. Wow. Over there, there's a restaurant. Excuse me, where is the restroom? Oh, the restroom is... Oh, they have galbitang (beef short rib soup). Please tell me about the restroom. Wow, they really gave a lot of meat in the galbitang. They wrapped the meat in onion and added kimchi. Enjoy your meal! Thank you, please make it delicious. Dear subscribers, isn't the main ingredient of galbitang the glass noodles? While eating, I looked it up and found that if you go about 30 kilometers from here, you can reach Cheonan. There’s a hotel there for 30,000 won. It’s not a 3,000 won motel or anything like that; it’s a business hotel. I plan to go to Cheonan today and stay there. Let's head to Cheonan. A hotel for 30,000 won is unbelievable.

It's not a motel, so what went wrong with the reservation? Even if it's a weekday, I should be able to find a hotel for around 30,000 won. Oh, it really feels like fall now; the leaves are falling everywhere. Suddenly, the walkway just ends. Where am I supposed to go? There’s no crosswalk to get across over there. Oh, I need to go back to the crosswalk ahead and cross there. It's going to take a while to go back. I should have crossed here. Oh, the train is passing by. I wanted to take a picture, but it all passed by. We are passing through Pyeongtaek Jijae Station. It’s clear that this is a road where not many people walk, so the road conditions aren’t very good. Oh no, I almost tripped on the weeds. Up until now, I've left Seoul and traveled to cities like Osan and Pyeongtaek, and I've noticed that there are really a lot of foreigners. Those people over there must be Chinese.

There are exchange offices like this one, and here, Chinese characters are written first. It's been a while since I've been to a drop-top café; it seems to have almost disappeared from Ulsan. I’m going to grab a large iced Americano and head out. I started from Songtan in Pyeongtaek and drove 10 kilometers to get here; I have 20 kilometers left to my destination.

Let's go again. Wow, this place is really nice. Oh, it's pretty here! It feels great. The river is flowing, and it's cold, but there's no pedestrian walkway. Oh dear, I'm not trying to go this way; it's just the only path available. I can't block vehicle traffic, so I’ll just have to pull through. Oh, there are no pedestrian walkways here either. It’s a hassle for the cars, and it’s dangerous for me too. I can’t do this. I need to pull out my secret weapon. This scooter is slow and I thought I wouldn’t need it since I mainly walk, but I brought it just in case.

It's cute, right? A frog that seems like it would be found in a rice field. I went to Vietnam to buy this. This is a motorcycle from Vietnam, but they don't sell this kind in our country. I didn't just come back directly from Vietnam; I purposely stopped by there on my last overseas trip. In a typical urban area or flat ground, riding this board is actually slower than a person running. It's really slow. But when you have to ride on the road with cars, it can be a bit dangerous, so I bought a helmet for that. It's green, so it's also visible, which is good. Oh, wow! Oh no! There are no sidewalks! I guess I have to keep pulling it. The charm of this manual kickboard is that when you encounter roads like this, you have no choice but to pull it along. You have to walk. You can experience both walking and riding. What is that smell? Is it cow dung? Fertilizer?

It smells nice. Finally, the pedestrian path appears. I'm passing through a neighborhood called Seong. Wow, this issue has really been around for a long time. It seems like they haven't been doing business. There are about 14 kilometers left to Cheonan city, but what's delicious in Cheonan? Cheonan is famous for walnut cookies and Byeongcheon sundae. Ah, what should I eat for dinner? I need to hurry and eat something delicious. Wow, it's been a while since I've had a downhill slope. Ah, it feels refreshing. Oh, why are we going this way? Look, I can see the sign for Cheonan. We're passing by the Cheonan Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market. We have 7 kilometers left now. Wow, I think I'll arrive around sunset today. Here we are. Ah, after about 7 hours of riding 30 kilometers, I've made it to Pyeongtaek for 1,000 won. But a hotel costing 30,000 won doesn't make sense. I can understand if a hotel is 30,000 won, but wow, I've traveled all over the country, and this is the first time I've seen a 30,000 won business hotel. It feels like it's located in a motel area.

Here, look over there, I can see a sign. It's the first time I'm seeing this from all over the country, and it's my first time trying chicken gizzard soup. I've never had it before, so I don't know what it is. Oh, that's chicken gizzard soup; there are two chicken heads. Yes, that's chicken gizzard soup. Oh, could I have one small one, please? Oh, wow, this looks amazing. Yes, thank you.

Hello! Yes, hello! It's been 12 minutes. Please don't stir it too often. What’s inside here? Well, since I ordered the gizzard soup, it should have gizzards in it. What else would be in it? It looks refreshing. Thank you.

Could you please put it down? Are you having pig intestines? Yes, chicken gizzard soup is hard to find elsewhere. I came because I was curious. Oh, you came from a motel? What’s that round thing? Oh, that’s an egg yolk. It hasn’t formed yet. The broth is really thick, like something between tteokbokki, crab sauce, and ramen.

The food here is surprisingly sweet. It seems like they seasoned it a bit too much. Before the egg comes out, the body has fish roe that doesn’t really look like a yolk but more like round fish eggs. This is definitely a place for drinking. What do you usually drink? I usually have Jinro. Please give me one Jinro and one soju glass. Here, we have tteokbokki with chicken gizzard, perilla leaves, and if you like tteokbokki, it’s a flavor everyone enjoys. It’s not an incredibly special taste, but it’s a mix of chicken gizzard tteokbokki and spicy soup, and I was going to have fried rice too, but I’m so full. There’s tteok inside as well. If you go about 40 kilometers from here, you’ll reach Gongju, where there’s delicious food too. I remember eating something really good there a long time ago. Let’s go to Gongju to eat that. I can’t keep up with a bicycle, though.

It's much slower. I'm going to Oasis. I was going to sit here this morning, but they said they painted. You can sit here. Oh, yes, thank you. Hello, I entered a place I know. Is there Busan milmyeon here? It's the humble Busan milmyeon from the countryside. Hello, one serving is 8,000 won. The yolk has been separated. Are you making the tickets yourself? Yes, the ice is completely frozen. It's cold over there. Oh, can I try that? Oh, then I'll eat this while we go later. Yes, thank you. I'll put it in my bag, and after about 30 minutes to an hour, it should be just right. Ah, this is it. Wow, under the autumn sky, the sunlight is crisp, and the air is cool. Oh, it's wide open; I need to be careful. The countryside road is so nice. It's truly the best in our country. It was a bit hot in the summer, but now that the weather is getting better, it's so nice.

The city bus sign in front of the supermarket is similar to that. Up there looks like a highway, and you can't see this kind of scenery, but taking the country road slowly allows you to see it. It's a bit special, I guess. Oh, the sunlight is strong, but the shadow created by the utility pole feels precious. Is this the address? It seems like it’s not in operation right now. Is that some kind of oil used for farming?

Ah, the rural scenery. The iron gate feels so familiar. The neighborhood is great. Oh, the ice is half melted; it's like half ice and half water. Wow, in this countryside scenery, the ice is refreshing. Oh, it tastes really good.

Oh, look at the persimmon tree! The persimmons are not ripe yet. You can see the royal jelly. Here, pink muhly grass is blooming by the roadside. It’s beautiful. Happy Gwangdeok-myeon, the hometown of walnuts. Is everything next to it a walnut tree? So, walnuts do grow on trees, right? But they come from the ground.

I just ate walnuts from the tree; I've never seen a live walnut before it was harvested. Wow, we're gradually entering a mountain valley. Oh, I think I saw a bag with a cicada in it. Oh, I see a mantis and a grasshopper; it's been a while since I saw them. Is there a war going on? These fighter jets are lined up. How many are there? Two? Four? One is passing by. In 1986, it was a crime-free town. If you're going to build something, then build it; if you're going to wag your tail, then wag it. Just pick one. People are friendly, but I have to stay cautious. If you call that number over there, a taxi will come. This neighborhood is really peaceful and nice, but the paved road is starting. You can't ride on the paved road like a Ford; it’s not like air goes in like a bicycle. I think of it like inline skating. It seems like this road is leading over the mountain; when I check, it looks like a bicycle route on Naver Maps.

You can choose to go by standard or by foot, but since I chose the bicycle standard, I had to pass through a tunnel. The distance increased a bit, so I set the map to the bicycle standard, and it led me to an unpaved road. This is almost like hiking. The fuel is running low, but the shade is cool. It feels endless, truly endless. On this road, it's scarier to see even one car than to be completely alone. How much longer until the paved road? 2 kilometers? Ah, let me take it slow. Thank you. Please go ahead. Oh no, I failed. Ah, you're heading to the farm next to me. You just need to go 2 kilometers. Wow, I'm really the only one who came here on a mountain bike. What a crazy thing to do! You've had a tough time meeting me by chance. Ah, the mountain's name is Muhaksan. This path was used by scholars during the Joseon Dynasty, so it's called the Gwa-geo Road. Finally, is the uphill section over? Even if the uphill ends, it's still unpaved.

There's no music. Finally, it's over. Let's go. Ah, from here, the area is Gongju, but we need to go 20 km into the city of Gongju. The colors are beautifully vibrant. Oh, I didn't bring anything, just in case. Ah, thank you. Yes, thank you. Oh, this person watched YouTube. I was actually really hungry and was wondering if there was anything to eat, but could you take a picture of that? Oh, of course. My tail is a mess right now, so I'll take a picture and put it in my bag. However, there’s no sidewalk here. We really need to be careful. Thank you. Have a nice day. Oh, you were waiting up front on purpose. What a connection! Right now, I was really hungry, and they generously gave me a lot of food. I will eat it gratefully. Ah, Gongju is 14 km away, and the sun is slowly setting. I can see the apartment complex over there.

It seems like we're in the city of Gongju. If we go another 6 kilometers, we'll reach our destination. We have 6 kilometers left. The entrance is nice, and next to Gongju is Yeon Flower. Ah, my first impression of Gongju is good. I have entered Gongju city after driving about 40 kilometers from Cheonan for around 7 hours. Today’s accommodation is room 206, costing 60,000 won. It’s quite clean. The door is open, and it has just what I need. The atmosphere doesn’t feel like a motel, which is nice. The wooden decor gives it a cozy vibe. Wow, today I climbed a mountain, and the sun was stronger than I expected, so as soon as I got out of the shower, I almost fainted. Since I'm in Gongju, I have to try this. Wow, it’s been a long time. Why is the portion so large? This is the smallest size! Where do I open this? Oh, it's stuck here. This is Gongju's specialty, Gimpitang. Gimpitang can be polarizing; it's a bit of an unfamiliar dish, along with kimchi.

At first, I was a bit hesitant about mixing pizza and sweet and sour pork, but once I tried it, I found it to be quite addictive. Oh, that's right, it really has the smell. It actually contains kimchi and I've added sweet potato as well. I have rice cakes and sweet and sour pork in it too. The sweet and sour pork is delicious on its own, but the radish complements it nicely. There's cheese in it as well, and you need to mix the cheese a bit at the bottom. By the way, this is the smallest size, which is 16,000 won. The portion is really large. It feels like a harmonious blend of the kimchi we know with sweet and sour pork, cheese, and even onions. The black-and-white chef is super fun. It's a one-to-one ratio. I was planning to set off again today, but after hiking yesterday, my legs feel a bit sore. Today, I'm going to take a break here in Gongju and do some video editing. I plan to set off again tomorrow. Thank you for traveling with me today.
