Halloween is a time of year known for candy and great costumes, and also really competitive niches on Etsy. If you want to break into Etsy, going after super competitive niches is probably not a great strategy, but there are opportunities for you to make sales in this highly popular genre. So, in this video, I'm going to break down five niches where you can make some sales related to Halloween. This should be awesome. Let's jump in. In this video, I'm going to be using a niche research tool called Everb. I love Everb. I use it a lot. I'm going to put a link to it in the video description below. It's pretty neat. On the left-hand side, you click a keyword research button, and then you can type in any search term. What will happen is you'll get back search volume, and that's your monthly search volume on Etsy. Then you'll see the amount of competing listings. As you can see here, when I type in Halloween, I get back a monthly search volume of a little over

3,600. The competition is over 4 million, which gives me a pretty horrendous keyword score of zero. You want something larger than zero, so let's go through and see if we can find five good niches that have the potential to make some sales. Niche number one is Halloween decorative sign. This really speaks to the importance of keywords in your listings because people will be searching for something like this, not just Halloween. That's a weak keyword. You want a strong keyword, and this Halloween decorative sign. This phrasing gets us back a search volume of a little over 500 every month, competition of a little over 3,000, a pretty robust keyword score of 160. Let's see what's happening on Etsy. Here's a great and easy way you can make some sales on Etsy: you offer personalized items. So, this is a personalized Halloween family sign, and the design is the same, and then they just added in the name of the family, your family name, and then you've got a date or a message that's optional. This is

$15.18. This is a digital download, and we can see here a personalized family sign. There's a few different sales down below inside of the shop reviews. This is really cool. If you're crafty, you can make a Lego-inspired frame. So, this is a frame that's got a recess inside of it where you can glue or attach figures, and you've got these Lego or toy figures in here. And then we've got In this house, we like too $39.35, 20 plus views in the last 24 hours. And things don't have to be super complicated in order for you to make sales. This one just says Welcome, and it's got a little spider and some hands. This is a best seller. It's in 20 plus baskets. This is just a personalized SVG file, and you can see there's white, there's black. I love the mockups because they're showing you how you would use the frame. So, even though it's just an SVG file, they're giving you ideas. I love these thumbnails. Niche number two is

Moth Wings. This may not have anything to do with Halloween because people do cosplay and they do all sorts of dress-up, but if people want a cool Halloween costume, this is the way to do it. So, it's very specific. You can see the search volume here is 386, competition is almost 6,000, and the keyword score is pretty robust at 70. Okay, so if you like building things or if you like making things with garments and sewing machines and so on, type in moth wings and then have a scroll through. You're going to see a whole bunch of different results that come back with many different price points. Some are digital designs, some are physical designs. So, when you're on Etsy, you can click on this little filters button. It's located right on the left-hand side, and you can pick a digital download or a physical item, or you can have both. Here's a great high-end option. So, somebody's made moth wings that are really large. They've got great-looking thumbnails, $151, and you can see it's in 20 plus

baskets. Now, this person's a star seller, but you can see why they've created something really high-end here. So, if you want to dominate on Etsy, one way is to create a superior product, and people will beat a path to your door. Here's one that's sort of similar. This isn't a moth, but it's an angel. Angel wings, $193, and it's in 20-plus baskets. So, you can see here, obviously, this is a high-end item, and it's going to take a lot of time and energy to make something like this. But if you have a passion for making goods, you've got a workshop, or you're really good with a sewing machine, this can be a great opportunity to really stake your claim on Etsy. Niche number three is Halloween Lantern SVG. It's important to add in the SVG because it'll attract people that are searching for digital downloads. So, here we can see the search volume's a little over 300, the competition's a little over 6,000, gives us a pretty good keyword score of 50, and

keep in mind there are related keywords down below. This is one of the beautiful things about EverB. I can look through, I can even sort this keyword score by ascending or descending, and I can see different keyword scores that come up for different phrasing. It's a pretty neat tool, and it gives you some great ideas on how to sell things. So, for this one on Etsy, I am going to use the filter. I've selected digital downloads only. I do want to point out there's also ads. Typically, the top row is Etsy's pick, and then you'll see popular items trending at the top, but you will see ads occasionally as well. This is an example here. It says ad by Etsy seller. So, you may want to look at those, you may not, depending on if you're looking for organic search results. This is a great one here. This is Halloween Lantern paper cutting 3D shadow box. So, the idea is that you would make this as a craft, and you're buying the pattern, so this is a digital download, so that crafty people

can purchase and make something really cool for Halloween. This is actually an ad, but it does work. This is in demand. Three people bought this in the last 24 hours. $561. It's a Halloween pumpkin candle holder bundle, and this is a laser-cut file. So, if you've got a wood-cutting machine or an engraving machine, this can be a great opportunity. You can make this. You're just buying the pattern, so you're actually selling, and sometimes you're selling to the final user, but sometimes you're selling to crafters, so it's kind of cool. You can actually create designs, sell them to people that will make physical goods. Niche number four is pet cosplay. Yes, little kitty and photo the dog are getting in on the action as well. If you like to dress up your animals, this is a pretty cool niche. This is search volume 523 per month for this exact phrase, but again, go down below, and you can see there's different keywords: pet Christmas cosplay, pet birthday cosplay, all sorts of different ones here.

so we've got pet cosplay competition's almost 6,000 keyword scores pretty robust here at 90. So this is a pretty interesting one. If you want your cat or dog to put in a shift at the Burger King or the McDonald's, this is a fast food costume for cats and dogs. Snack bar staff. You can see here we've got Kitty working the drive-thru. Actually doesn't look too irritated, which is kind of nice. So that's what you get. You get a little costume and then you get a little headset. And if you're really good at making crafts, this is a great opportunity for you to make some sales. Hello, can I take your order? We can see 20 plus views in the last 24 hours, $26 too. So they're making some money. They're obviously making these by hand. People are very interested. Here's another one. This is red and black cat ears. We can see it's in 15 plus baskets. This is actually for a human being to wear. So this is red and black cat ears. So if

You're going to some sort of elegant party. This could really look nice. You can see the little jewels on there. $61 for a pair of caders with some jewelry on there. They've got a huge number of shop reviews, and what I would recommend is you take a look at shop reviews like this and see what they like: good quality, colors match, quality is great, item as described, great quality. So you'll notice they're mentioning quality multiple times. This is important to some people, and they're willing to pay a premium in order to get a high-quality item that will last them maybe more than one Halloween season. Niche number five is Medieval Renaissance costume. This is a massive niche, and the price points are very high. We can see her search volume is 850, competition's a little over 17,000, and the keyword score is 50. I strongly encourage you to check out the different niches and the sub-niches below and have a look on Etsy and see how this is related to an area in your neck of the

woods, or it could be country-specific, gender-specific. There's a lot of sub-niches inside of this. So, first up on Etsy, we have this beautiful blue dress. This is a medieval renaissance fair hooded dress. Note the keywords: blue, evil princess, queen, Game of Thrones, theater dress, gothic horror, Halloween costume, and even their store name, Victorian Choice, is branded to this sort of idea. $35 for this beautiful dress, only five left. It's already in two baskets, a lot of shop reviews down below. And if you're looking at a highly successful shop, you can click on the link here where it says purchased item, and you can see other things that they've purchased. So, this is a Victorian Edwardian vintage style dress. So, this is obviously a high-end costume maker, and the price point reflects that. Here's another one that's a lower price point. This is a dark green Renaissance Viking tunic. So, you don't have to spend a ton of money to look like you belong back in the Middle Ages.

this is a great-looking thumbnail. You can see exactly what they're pushing, the clothing here, black pants, dark green tunic, 20 views in the last 24 hours. Here's another one that's absolutely fantastic. Look at these thumbnails. This is a medieval Ranger cloak linen. There's six color choices. How cool is that? You're going to party like it's $4.99 here with the Medieval sword and sorcery outfits. So, this is $247. It's in 20 plus baskets. And again, go down to the shop reviews. You can see reviews for the item itself, and then often they'll have reviews for the shop over on the right-hand side too. So, you don't have to go in super high-end, but you can certainly take a look and use this as inspiration and see if there's a way that you can get into this niche because people are definitely searching for this kind of thing.
